Watching a consummate professional and thoroughly nice guy at work is pure joy. Imagine if Dan cut hair for us ladies too! However, I guess there’d quickly be at least a 12 month waiting list!

I went to beauty school in Dallas, Tx in 1964, graduated six months later, could cut, perm, set, (roll up hair) comb out into a beautiful style, my favorite was the french twist, which I still wear from time to time, but I didn’t learn nearly what Dan learned on his way to becoming a barber. The words recession point, occipital bone, over direct, were never spoken during one of the theory classes I took. But finding a hairdresser I’m excited about seeing for a cut or color has happened only once! Then she moved away. I’ve been going to the same haircutter for several years, but have been extremely happy with my results once! Just once! And now, after watching YT videos of the wolf cut and others like that, I just cut my own hair. Back in the 60’s when the Sassoon cut was all the rage, I cut my own hair back then as well. In case you wonder how old I am, I’m only 81! 😊

His hair looks SO much better now!!! I LOVE the waviness and curl he has now. It's a lot neater, cleaner, not so much a mess. Plus it REALLY opens up his face! Now he's wearing his hair, his hair isn't wearing him!!! He's gorgeous!!!
i relate with the client because i have severe seborrheic dermatitis and most products irritate my scalp so much, especially when i go out in the sun or if i'm sweating or just hot in general. that was one of the main reasons why i got rid of my long hair. even salt spray, which is one of the lightest products makes my scalp itch. i have to use anti fungal medicated shampoos quite regularly to stay on top of the condition and avoid any flare ups but they tend to dry out the hair and the remedy to that is a conditioner which again irritates the scalp. this is why i keep my hair short.
@@FatGitLovesThe80s i'm glad you found something that works for your daughter. for me it's an autoimmune disorder and it never truly goes away. i just have to manage the symptoms with medication and alterations to my diet. i have tried and tested and i'm pretty certain that sugar causes flare ups which is why i try to limit if not completely eliminate sugar from my diet. also, getting some sunlight on the scalp definitely helps to kill the fungus. i've noticed when i stay inside my house for a few days straight, it gets worse.
Mine has been bad all my life. These days I alternate between ketoconazole to kill the causal fungus and coal tar to remove flakes/ease itching. At best, mine never goes away fully, there's always scaling somewhere on the scalp or face (sides of nose, eyebrows and more recently, eyelids). One piece of advice from this stylist is to wash hair only twice a week. But for my condition I end up having to wash every day. Add to that my receeded widow's peak hairline, this has me considering full bald shave. But my skull shape is weird and I'm not sure that would cure the skin issues as I also get it on my hairless face. So my best option is probably a short taper with no scalp exposure with some kind of beanie or hat worn at all times. But the haircut I actually want is more of a David Spade/Tom Petty type thing with the long bangs. Was considering FUE for a while, may still do it if I can eventually afford it. The doctor said transplant was possible even with the skin condition. I almost never go to hairdressers so as to avoid subjecting them to my disgusting skin. With this condition, a constant worry is people thinking you're not fastidious with hygene. But I promise, my disgusting flakes are at least washed and clean!

the sun makes it worse to begin with but cures it long term, believe me
I heard ketoconazol shampoo works really good for this issue. You should get it checked by a dermatologist though
