It is worth noting that Brinkley is a privately owned company and NOT part of Thor. The owners seem to take pride in their work and won't put their name on garbage!

Yes, it has been, and we're tired of it.
I'm not totally surprised with the workmanship of Grand Design. When the CEO of Grand Design treated us the way he did at the Tampa Show rally 2 years ago. Telling us he didn't want to see how bad our RV was and not to bring it up to Elkhart to be worked on. That was a big clue to us to get rid of the RV. We recently had a Tech work on RV. And he said that the RVs built in 2021 to 2023 were not manufactured correctly. We have been considering the Brinkley Fifth Wheel.
You will be very happy with the Brinkley
It would be very helpful if you mention what companies are doing what. It doesn't help anyone if you don't tell us what companies you are referring referring to.
Really all but the ones I mentioned were good are crap. Serious, stay away from them if was you.
I have a Momentum 350G built in either ‘19 or ‘20, we purchased new in early ‘20. I’ve fortunately not had any major issues; however the floor in the portion of the trailer over the king pin (master bedroom) has started to creek when walking around the bed. After watching what you’ve experienced, I’m wondering if this is normal over time, or perhaps some frame issues beginning? Any thoughts?
It may be nothing but simple floor wiggle for use. Check all the other signs I've outline if various videos to be sure. THe first test it to measure the frame flex. That will tell you a lot.
wounder if there would be a way to put a inspection hole for a inspection camera to be fished up in there and inspect the welds once in a while and see if welds where ground and rewelded?
That would be a lot of holes
Just recently discovered your channel thanks to @While We Still Can ! SO GLAD because were considering a barely used GD 397TH to save money but now have changed to a Brinkley..either a 4000 or a 3950 after we see it in person. Planning to go full time in about 2 years hauling our Polaris Slingshot. Thanks for all the great info! Oh, also, WE LOVE FOOTBALL TOO! GO OHIO STATE BUCKEYES AND CINCINNATI BENGALS! :)
Hello Amy, Good choice, I have my eye on the 3950 as well. I'll be seeing it at the Tampa RV show. Not sure if have watched it yet, but I did a review on the 3500 and the 4000. They are incredible. Yes, I would stay away from a GD! Go Pack Go!
I’m surprised these companies haven’t learned their lessons, in engineering of metals; z bracket is very weak, should use arch supports.

Hey Patrick, couldn't agree more it's getting old. You should live it from my shoes, it's maddening. As soon as I can get all these broken things fixed and safe to travel down the road, I will be back on the road.

So I am curious, with all of the issues you have had with your RV Frame, I don't see anywhere in any of your videos where you have weighed your unit... Do you have a Scales Cert for your unit, as in you verified you are within the operational limits on the frame (20,000 lbs GVWR)... I know lots of people not even living full time in these that being over weight is the biggest problem. THX!
Yes, it's been weighed several times by me at CATScales and by GD at the factory. I am under the weight limit per the sticker. However, I learned the stickers are false in the numbers. This was hinted to me by Lippert engineer that the stickers are what the frame should support if the frames were built to the lippert engineers specs. However, the manufactures each change the specs, (i.e) the thickness of the steel used and the size of the cross members as well as the amount of support beams and gussets. So when is all ready for delivery, the actual weight of the RV is under what the sticker states, but in reality way over based on the actual material used. This was one of the dirty little secrets I revealed in one of those videos. Even the service techs at Grand Design confirmed this to be true and stated that 7 out of 10 RV's will fail because they are overweight even before you put a pair of shoes in them.
@@MyBucketListDay Well despite your comments about Brinkley being different they use the same updated frame specs that Grand Design uses, they just happened to be lucky and came to the market after Lippert did the redesign of the pin box mount. There is no thicker steal and there is nothing substantially different between the two.... Feel free to go to both factories and measure both frames, The Grand Design Frames were updated in 2022, that is basically what Brinkley uses, feel free to confirm with Lippert.

You are absolutely correct on this.
When it comes down to it there is really no difference between the Grand Design and Brinkley other than the shape of the windows and some interior mods. I guarantee using the Gen Y hitch will be short lived.
