Honestly the idea of a Sonic villain that’s a hunter has a intriguing amount of potential. It also makes a lot of sense because ya know most of the cast are animals… especially the idea of a big game hunter that is has slayed countless of beast and is still unsatisfied. Which would make him go after Sonic and friends as they are not only animals but are incredibly powerful so it would make their demises all the more satisfying for the mad hunter. Maybe this character would either like Kraven or someone like kyhber from ben10
You know if you were to do a Most Dangerous Game story with Sonic, you could do an adaptation of SEGASonic around that: Eggman has traps all over the island and you have Sonic, Mighty and Ray running around like rats in his maze
Agreed, that would fit perfectly. Personally, I would love to see a remake of SEGASonic game, especially if it's made by the developers of Sonic Mania.
Considering that the "Kraven movie" and the "Sonic 3 movie" will be released in December 2024, this crossover will meet expectations. I'm looking forward to the movies, especially "Sonic 3 the movie"! 🤩
I do love a good "Most Dangerous Game" adaptation, which really forces the hero to rely purely on their skills and intellect to overcome a merciless foe. It's a simple set up, but it works.
Agreed. Knuckles deserves his own series. Not just because he's my favorite character. But because Sonic Team goes all out for Shadow... and *NO ONE ELSE.*
Shadow arrived at the perfect time, when emo and edginess was all the rage with young teens. His popularity was practically guaranteed the instant he appeared in SA2. Post-Sonic 3 Sega fumbled a lot of the supporting cast. No mainline Sonic game for the Sega Saturn meant you had all these freshly introduced characters like Knuckles, Amy and Metal Sonic who pretty much just showed up to fill up slots in the spin-off games but no titles of their own that expanded their character/lore (outside of Knuckles Chaotix which flopped due to releasing on the doomed Sega 32x).
At 9:33 Man, I remember having that issue and the issue after that when I was a little kid and I got that from a comic story in Philadelphia man those were good times
Thank you for that little end speech about series needing to stop being afraid over expanding on Knuckles’ lore! The whole ‘boogiemaning’ of Ken Penders in the fandom is incredibly annoying, and often when he’s brought up it’s over stuff he’s had nothing to do with. You’ve been really killing it with these longer videos! Keep up the good work.
Technically the last story for the Knuckles comics wasn't with Hunter. There was a Story B that involved Espio. Last panel actually involves him walking away from said explosion.
Honestly, one of my least favorite stories Ken ever wrote, like people tend to shit on him for his premises, but MOST of his premise are actually not that bad or even have the woodwork to be very great, like Most Dangerous Game is such a fun concept to work with, having Knuckles working together to survive with someone he often finds himself at odds could've lead to so many fun places, imagine Knuckles teaming up with Julie-Su; this could serve as an excellent opportunity to initiate or even enhance their relationship, or how about instead of Knuckles instantly accepting Locke, have him be more conflicted with him and this situation could be the spark to Knuckles getting to know his father more, or hell, Sonic-I mean, who wouldn't want to see that? Like, there are so many characters this could work with: Vector, Espio, Sally, Tails, fucking Remington literally anyone could've brought something to this narrative, so why on God's green earth would you instead create a brand new character with the most bland design ever seen in the Sonic comics and whose relationship with Knuckles means fuck all in the overarching narrative that not even Ian Flynn has ever acknowledged his existence to my recollection especially when you already have so many preexisting character that are in desperate need for more attention.
I actually do like this story. It's bizarre, but it's not the weirdest or worst of Archie Knuckles. And I'm still glad the comic got continued as the b-story of Archie Sonic.
And people complain about Ian’s references. At least he stay on brand. 😅 Joking aside, the concept of the idea is good, but the execution could be better.
I think he never cared to evolve with the times and learn to use digital art software and Ken is a guy who’s pretty much stuck in the past and can’t move on from his “glory” days
What's funny to me is that when I learned that the antagonist in The Knuckles TV Show was referred to by his occupation (The Buyer), I immediately went, "Oh yeah, this is just like Hunter from the Archie comics!" Sadly, both characters would turn out criminally underdeveloped.
Oh yeah, Sandman would definitely be a nightmare for Sonic to deal with. I don’t think Sonic’s ever fought anything that can restructure its own body like how Sandman can. It also gives Sandman unlimited stamina too, actually. All of Spider-Man’s victories against him have been because he took advantage of Sandman’s composition to incapacitate him, such as my getting him so wet that he can no longer move. I could also see Mysterio giving Sonic a little bit of a hard time with his illusion antics due to illusions not being common among Sonic’s rogues gallery, but I don’t think that hypothetical advantage would last very long.
why not a new knuckles game? i think most people would want that to be honest same goes for tails and shadow also i hope the sonic games introduce other human villains in the future i think it's time they should do that
I just get myself wondering, why didn't they just use Fang/Neck? He's already a hunter, i know he already has his own thing going on but making him the one who hunts Knuckles wouldn't really be that weird for him would it?
It always bothered me that a lot of Knuckles big power-up moments weren't used on more, shall I say, "worthy" antagonists. I mean, he taps into the Chaos Force to beat Hunter the first time and then years later since the last time we saw Super Knuckles was when he fought Master Mogul. Now we see him use his super form to throw a human into the water, not in an epic battle to save Angel Island and that was the last time Super Knuckles appeared in the comics. His other super form, Chaos Knuckles was put in the same situation, it was wasted power that truly didn't amount to anything memorable. As for Hunter, he was interesting, just wish that he wasn't the final story for the Knuckles Comic. Probably should have left that to Enerjak.
i feel like i can't go *ONE* day with out youtube's algorithm constantly reminding me of the colossal dumpster fire that is these awful sonic comics...
The idea of someone using Angel Island, Knuckles' own home, as a hunting ground against him sounds really good, honestly
@@cloudsevbut knuckles solos you so your point is invalid
there's just something oddly fitting about a hunter-character when your main characters are all animal-people

I'm so obsessed with the way you say "look at him" makes me chuckle every time
Why does Monk look like he was drawn by Jack Kirby? Nobody else looks like this
I always assumed that Fang was meant to be the Kraven-expy of Sonic, just less explicitly.
Agreed, Fang is pretty much an Australian Kraven if you really think about it.
Would you think a Guy called "The Sniper"(Later Renamed "The Hunter") would have made a Fitting Rival to Knuckles.
@conradojavier7547 True, though it be interesting if there was a rivalry with Fang and Rouge.
@Sonicman4155 but he also predates the original Ultimate Kraven who was evil Steve Irwin
I do love a good "Most Dangerous Game" adaptation, which really forces the hero to rely purely on their skills and intellect to overcome a merciless foe.
It's a simple set up, but it works.
I think maybe one of the problems is the power scaling of the world if someone could use chaos powers then your just screwed
Not assumed, confirmed cause I remember one issue eggman was talking about how he didn't survive.
Man, I remember seeing that picture of the hunter in a knuckles comic in sonic mega collection extras
Agreed. Knuckles deserves his own series. Not just because he's my favorite character. But because Sonic Team goes all out for Shadow... and *NO ONE ELSE.*
Bcs Shadow deserves it
Knuckles definitely deserves his own series along with Blaze and the Chaotixs.
IDW did give him a one shot story with him helping trip the sungazer so its the closest we are going to it much like the Knuckles tv show
@@comicbookreviewer4856 Yeah...

Speaking of the Wall crawler, who here wouldn’t mind Josh Keaton taking a shot at voicing Sonic
YES!!!!!!!! 👍
5:04 So this purple ape was the one who fought Knuckles before the echidna fought Donkey Kong. 😆
Imagine the Green Goblin(Willem Dafoe) teaming up with SATAM Egg man

I clicked on this thinking "Who TF is Kraven"

Return to Angle Island is one of the best pre-160 arcs. A deep dive video would be great
This such a weird knuckles storyline in my opinion
The Hunter makes a big mistake on going after Knuckles. 😀👍
kraven and the chameleon are half brothers in the comics
One of Ken Penders non-original ideas together with Knuckles Darth Vader dad and both Star Wars and Star Trek ships and stories.
I remember thinking that Ken's art looked pretty decent in these issues. Man what happened between this and LSC?
I think he never cared to evolve with the times and learn to use digital art software and Ken is a guy who’s pretty much stuck in the past and can’t move on from his “glory” days
@user-MellowMan04 sometimes I wonder how LSC would look if he just flat colors instead of making the ugliest dodge and burn shading I've ever seen.
Kraven?
Like Kraven the hunter?
Now we need sonic and Star Wars/Star Trek references during Ken’s time on sonic. I saw the Millennium falcon in one of the knuckles comic.
What's funny to me is that when I learned that the antagonist in The Knuckles TV Show was referred to by his occupation (The Buyer), I immediately went, "Oh yeah, this is just like Hunter from the Archie comics!"

With this video, I wonder how a fight between Sonic and the Sinister 6 would be. Sonic would definitely struggle against someone like Sandman
Hydroman would certainly be his worst nightmare.
We low key get that with the Fearsome Foursome, later rebranded to the Destructix when they had more than four members.
@@ashesGeekWhat About the Spot? Sonic would absolutely hate fighting him
