  • re:attachment is my fifth award winning short film, and has been in the works since February of 2019 when the initial script was written.
    Carter, afflicted all his life by a repressed childhood trauma, begins to break through new barriers in his identity as he sets out in attempt to give flowers to a girl he has an infatuation for. Revelations of his dissociative nature unravel as the night begins to work against him.
    Inspired by a dramatization of a real event that happened on Valentine's Day three years ago.

    (Only supported with the proper set-ups)

    What ultimately began as an honest look into my own anxiety and trying to form it into a paranoid thriller, turned to a route much more inward;
    diving into the nature of why young men develop so much anxiety and dissociation.
    The stems of trauma and how to integrate back into a more regulated and connected life.
    The pursuit through the intentions of my work is to establish an understanding of reality from a damaged psyche and to explore those perspectives. I have strayed far away from labeling things as disorders and instead reactions to trauma and lack of secure attachment.
    re:attachment was filmed almost two years ago, and completed well over a year ago. A lot has changed since then. There is more work to be done with my research of psychology and mental health, and how to tell the stories I find as my calling, but what lies here in this short film is a truth. An elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about.
    The real pandemic: child abuse and sexual abuse.
    What the aftermath can look like in a repressed adult, years later.
    More research will be done.
    The feature film of re:attachment is in development.
    I'd like to thank everyone who supported me during the making of this film and everyone who still is supporting me.
    There is much more to come, but for now-- enjoy just that: Now.
