Yay I’m so glad I found this! I’ve been wondering how people get perfect cuticles and putting pro base and letting dry so I don’t have to buff my natural nail such a time saver and my natural nails are so thin 🙌🏻

I noticed that after your second dip, you did not remove the excess powder on nail but applied the pro base again. Shouldn’t we be cleaning the excess powder after every dip?

I have a question. At 4:07, you mention you do something with the glass tool and the bottle of cuticle remover, but you also mention you do something at the very beginning of the process. Do you apply that to your nail like you show here at 4 minutes in, but at the beginning...and are mentioning it to add info while filling time while it dried? Or do you put it on at that point and ready the tool with the lotion before you get started?

When I do my nails the revel topcoat doesn’t come out shiny!! It comes out matte or it kinda bubbles up? What am I doing wrong
Awesome! The only thing I do differently is I don’t ever use a 100/180 grit file. I find it to be just too rough for my liking. I only use 120/240, the 120 is rough enough to take down acrylic & gel and the 240 is fine enough to start smoothing it out before buffing. But I honestly can’t live without orange sticks, they are good for so many uses during every kind of manicure you’re wanting to do!!

I have the Kiara Sky starter kit. Does it matter what kind of base is used if you don’t buff your nails? I only have the base from the kit. Thank you for this video recommendation. So helpful! (You just sent me here from Instagram 😊)
You could use this method with any brand liquids!
I have both Kiara and revel powders.. any base and activator brands work with any.
Great mani! How long do your manis last with using one coat of base coat? I like the ideas of not buffing my nails.
I must admit, I love to change my manis a few times a week. The mani in this video lasted 11 days before I decided to take it off (could have gone longer, but I can't stand the new growth lol)

May I ask why you dont buff your natural nail to prep? And doesn’t that cause lifting early? If not, what is your natural prep procedure…or direct me to a video you have already done on so you don’t have to repeat yourself please? Thank you!
How come you don't use clear powder over top of the color? I'm new to this dip product and thought the color wld file off without clear on top???:)

I love my glass cuticle file! (Just purchased after watching your video.) My #3 top coat takes much longer than 2 minutes to dry. I really don't think I'm putting on too much. Any thoughts? Thanks!
I just started doing my own dip nails, and I literally spend 5 hours just doing my cuticles and prep for my dip! I can’t get them perfect or how I think they should be? Maybe I’m a little ocd...but I’ve done everything that I’ve seen and learned on TH-cam videos but I guess I need a lot of practice..
Love all your tutorials! Your nails are always perfection 😍 I have found that my nails have gotten better with each dip after watching what you do! I do find that sometimes I nick my cuticles when trying to file around the nail like this 😞 thinking I just get my dip too close to the cuticle!

Yes, you could be getting a little too close or if your file is new, it could be too sharp. Another option that I’ve seen some ladies use are those thin metal files.
I have been dipping for almost 2 years. After watching your video I just did a dip and it's the best looking dip I've done! Thanks so much for your video, I'm so happy with my dip, I just ordered a bunch, and I mean a bunch of new dip colors...... What else are we supposed to do when we are on lockdown. ;-)

Should I wash the toothbrush with soap or anything?? I use black alot and after I rinsed the brush it still had black coming off of it
I would definitely suggest washing it. Maybe even soak your tools in Barbicide every once in a while.

Yes! You can absolutely do that! I just did the one nail in this video for time saving purposes! Good luck on your first dip! Take your time and everything will go great 😍

Looks awesome. Do the Revel liquids have a strong odor? I’ve used a few brands that the smell is so strong it makes me sick.
The vogue color looks so good with your skin tone. Does the dip lift even though you do not buff the natural nail?
Makaravine Duong thank you! I skip the buffing and instead, I apply a thin layer of probase (which I let dry completely prior to dipping). This helps the dip to adhere to the nail and I never have lifting 😊

Hi Meagan, can you do a video on how you prep since you don’t buff? I don’t buff either but my nails start to lift within 1-2 days. I want them to last at least 5-7 days since I like to change colors often. I do remove the invisible cuticle (thanks for that video by the way) and I go around my cuticles with an orange stick.
Do you apply a layer of probase and let it dry completely, prior to starting your mani?
I prep my cuticles, swipe with alcohol, apply a 3/4 coat of probase to each nail (let that dry completely), then I start my mani :)

Correct. Just apply the base to 3/4 of the nail (basically leaving a little space near the cuticle).

Do you find three coats works better than two with all colors or does it just depend?
It honestly all depends on the color! But for solids, I generally do 3. Glitters can vary, depending on where they stand on the fine-chunky scale.

It honestly all depends on the color! Sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t. But the glitter always get a dip of clear.

How long is the dry time between coats?
MeMeLashay it’s pretty fast. I normally do all 5 nails, brush off the excess and then immediately start on the next coat.
I saw you use Vogue in a picture on the Revel site. The colors were Vogue, Blink, and a purple sparkle but it didn't say the color of the sparkle. I think it was from a post from Instagram I think. What was the sparkle color?

Do you still lay your nail in the jar if it's a small jar??
Yes, I do. This may be harder to do if you have really long nails. Some people pour their powder into a cupcake liner and lay their nail in that way.
Whenever I dip my finger in the powder it comes out uneven or chunky what can I do different
You may be applying too much probase and it could be spreading out when you dip, causing the unevenness. Also, are you dipping or laying your nail in the powder?
Manis by Megan I was dipping. Should I lay it down?
Also, do you apply the nail dehydrator prior to applying probase to all the nails? Or do you apply it after?
If you use a dehydrator, you would apply it first 😊

Hi.... I'm wondering if you have tried Triple Vitamin top coat vs Revel finish gel and which did you like better?? I've tried both and neither one gives me a SUPER SHINE 🙁🙁 And they take forever to dry! I brushed activator on to dry them

Sorry to keep asking so many questions! Can you tell me why you use a toothbrush vs a powder brush?? All the girls I see use a powder brush.. So im just curious
I use a firm toothbrush because I feel that it removes the excess better than a soft powder brush. 😊
There are some times when I grab for my powder brush. But I absolutely prefer the toothbrush!
I prefer the toothbrush as well. I don't have to buff nearly as much since switching to a toothbrush.

Manis by Megan When using the tooth brush does it ever scrape off your powder. I’ve heard the powder brush is used because it’s more gentle....you just have to brush it across a few more times to make sure all excess powder is gone.
I use the toothbrush because I feel like it’s firm enough to get all of the powder off. The only way it’s would scrape the dip off is if it wasn’t dry first. For this tutorial, I did just the one nail. But normally, I will dip all 5 nails and then go back and brush off the excess, starting with the first nail I dipped. The first nail should be dry by then! I hope this helps!
Thank you so much for your video! It was so helpful! One question though- I am trying to just do a coat of step one so that I am not roughing up my nails too much but I am finding that my dips pop off easily- am I doing something wrong?
Mikell Nigro this doesn’t work for everyone, but you might try some rubbing alcohol on your nails prior to adding the step 1!

For this video, I was still using Revel liquids. I have since switched to using Triple Vitamin and follow the exact same process! It works exactly the same ☺️

Shauntelle Robinson I don’t put clear over my solid colors, unless I know buffing will ruin the color. However, I would suggest clear over your glitters!
