I did my nails for the first time today, and they weren’t bad - I credit watching a ton of your videos this weekend for that!! However I’m currently feeling pretty crappy and think I’m having a reaction to the liquids that I used 😅😬 do you have any recommendations Rachel? I didn’t have any reactions at any point when I had them done in the salon and I went religiously for three years
Beverly Beaudette which liquids did you use? Everyone is different and some many have reactions to some but not to others and vice versa. I’ll get a better idea on a recommendation when I know which you reacted to.
You may have what is called dip flu..I get it every time I dip..I put Cotton balls or Kleenex up my nose and wear a mask..we’re wearing them now anyway..also I change my clothes and take a shower..after I do my nails..

Makeup with Mariela yes! You definitely need clear where the nail and base of the tip meet. Then buff to make flat as best you can then dip!
By dip I mean build apex as per usual

I have a huge crack in my thumb too! I applied clear dip powder just to hold it in place while the damage grows out but no idea what I'm going to do next time. It's in the middle of my nail, going to take a while to grow out, but it would be super painful to cut it prematurely. Growing out natural nails is wayyy harder than it looks!!

Do you wipe off your base liquid brush before you put it back into the bottle after each pass?
I don’t. I do if it looks like it needs it but I don’t find that Virgo and gem liquids need it like some other brands do

Do you have to follow your color dip with a clear coat dip? I ordered a few things from revel, but I didn't buy clear dip😣
You don’t have to with solid colors. But sometimes with filing and buffing it will take away the pigment and look weird. That’s only some colors tho.
You do need it for glitters tho if you want a smooth surface.
Making it so thin, does that make it easier to lift?? If not what's you do to help from lifting?????
I don’t really get lifting. I think it’s because I dry prep most the time and lightly buff just my new growth- then I wash with dish soap and scrub with a nail brush so there is nothing left on my nail plate at all

This video was EXACTLY what I was looking for. If you're still open for suggestions could you do a video on the activator process? Even if I'm waiting 5 minutes after application I'm still having issues with my top coat. I've even tried alcohol in between. I'm not doing something right.

How come you do 3 layers of peel base? Also did you peel base over viven?
I did do peel base over clear and I did three because that was what I was told to do. It may have been too much since they would always pop off in a day or two, three max. If I were to use peel base again I think I would only do one full and an extra strip down the middle.

I also use the peel base right after primer/dehydrator before I dip in clear...??
