Hi I am new at this and I don't have any products besides the glitter baseco and top coat. I don't know what an activator is and something else you used I forgot the name. They look beautiful

Have you done a reverse ombre. From the cuticle up with french tips
Where you dab pro base on around 8:00 I use activator instead and I wrap a snack sized ziplock or saran wrap around my finger so I can press my glitter down really flat! Then I apply my base coat & dip into clear to encapsulate!

Hey so my favorite mani I've ever gotten the guy did a trick to do ombre glitter french tips, he applied the tips then a thin layer of acrylic but then he took one of the tips and used the Cresent moon have to scrape the acrylic off the tip to create a prefect french manicure shaped tip, then he applied super glue to the tip an dipped my fingers partly in different colored glitters to create a horizontal ombre rainbow of different colored glitters. After each dip he tap my nail several times to remove the excess then afterward he applied the clear acrylic and continued as a regular gel mani, is there a name for this? It lasted forever!

I got the dipping powder and the base coat and activator. When I used the dip as you did, it was so thick and drippy. By the time I got to the glitter stage the surface was so lumpy and bumpy! When I filed and buffed them, the glitter started to peel off. Any tips???

I tried dip powders for the first time this weekend. My glitter was gummy when I tried to file that I ended up peeling most off. Then the it took FOREVER to dry and I smudged them all up. It looks so bad lol. Practice I guess, yours are gorgeous!!!
I found you need to put a lot of activator on for glitter.

What’s the base coat? The activator that comes with it or the clear nail polish 💅🏾 coat?
The base coat is one of the 3 dip liquids that you need for a dip powder manicure. You will need base coat, activator and top coat 😊

You don’t dip at a 45° angle? Is there a reason why you choose to dip flat? I’m just starting out with this dip stuff and I would like to know the proper way to do it or the way to get a better clean dip
I lay my nail flat into the powder because I feel like it makes the application more even and leads to less buffing. Also, I’ve found that dipping into the jar at an angle can cause the liquid to push back, which leads to a lumpy mani that needs more buffing.

I got um, I didn’t know if they were from some nail shop or a mini teaspoon..I never would’ve thought of tasting spoons
I don't know if it's the brand I'm using or my technique, but mine comes out so uneven. The glitter tip is much thicker than the rest of the nail.
That happens to me, so I started taking some glitter and mixing it with clear powder in a separate container and dip my tips that way, comes out just right for me, I too cannot get it to do like she is doing.

Do you have any tips for your removal? I tried the clamps and pure acetone with glitter and it didn't work very well. I don't want to soak my fingers if I can avoid it too.
Nail technician student here, it is highly recommended to soak you fingers in pure acetone to dissolve the hardening product on your nails. You are to soak the entire nail till the product is softened and to remove it simply use a pusher or wooden stick to slide off the product, if it is too hard, keep soaking your fingers for a few more minutes and try again. This method is used to avoid any damage to your nail beds and nail itself. I wouldn't recommend any other methods.
Someone recommended this to me and it’s worked wonders, needed to do more then one cycle but it really cuts down the time needed to soak the dip off

What file do you use, I'm scared I will go through the clear and mess up my glitter and I feel like buffing isn't cutting it!
I use a 100 grit! But you could probably use a 180 if you want something a litter finer 😊
I’m so confused am I not supposed to cure under the lamp every time I dip?
Hi Gina! Dip liquids are air dry and do not require a lamp. If you use gel liquids, you would need a lamp.

Wow I see you putting the base brush back in the bottle many times without wiping it off, is this brand super forgiving?!! Is it hard to contaminate? Then I see you went in with the top coat within a minute of your final coat of activator without wiping off your nails with a papertowel! I have Double Dip liquids and they contaminate if I breathe. I hate them and am going to try something else! I am assuming this brand is incredible!
