This is a very unique and bold move. I don’t know if it will get a good result, but I am proud of our entry no matter the result. I really really like it! And he sang it live at dwdd and it’s just amazing
Thank you so much. I am more than happy with Jeangu representing us this year. The song is not for everyone maybe, but the most important to me is the quality of it. I personally adore Jeangu.
Can't wait to see staging at Eurovision. The tissues are ready cause I know I'm going to cry. A lot.

I am not certain, but I believe you can see how staging would have been in the acoustic version (DWDD). Obviously it is not the complete staging, but you can see and hear some differences compaired to the music video or the other live versions.
There is only a piano with it, no backing vocals. Also the ending is slightly different. More complete, I would say.
The best by far. Musical and message quality that you rarely see on Eurovision.
You definitely hear the quality in this song even when you don’t like it. For me this song is slowly growing on me, but when i saw the live version today @ DWDD, i was sold. The live version is way better. Maybe Deban and you can react to that version.
Same with me, was not expecting anything. I was sold after the DWDD Live Version.

This is reasonably The best song this year, its message is the most important message ever
The Dutch delivering quality once again. I didnt like this song at first listen but now i can't get it out of my head. It's defenitly a grower.
Not usually my style, but really like it. It's a very relatable, soothing, and his voice is so nice. I hope it does well and people don't miss the meaning. many young people like myself can honestly relate to this song. It's still hard to look at what you have rather than what you want in life.
How envy national delegations that chose quality entries no matter if they are for ESC or not. It's a profound song, nicely sung, with great message and a talented singer that express with his voice so much emotions that come from the deep. Congrats The Netherlands! Very well done again this year and deserve a great great result in Rotterdam.

I never thought I would love our song that much again, I love it even more than last years song, and that one was fantastic. But this song moved me so much. I've been very emotional lately, and today when I heard the song, my tears came out, FINALLY. GOD, i needed that, and he's singing my life.

The best entry so far.
So i have been thinking about a staging,
it begins very vulnerable with him standing alone a the big dark stage. then when the orchestral part begins, you get a few small lights like stars surrounding him getting a little stronger over time. On the moment he sings satelites there forms a glow on the stage and dissapears after that. Now there comes more kind of soft warm light shining towards him, AND THEN when the gospel part hits in, you can see a warm projecter like light coming in, and then the backing singers start walking forward from the dark behind him to join him till they stand next to him and they just sing the song and finish it together.

I really want to hear Deban's reaction. I love this song. The first time i heard this i was like wtf? but damn now its SO emotional and so BEAUTIFULL. That ending scene, goosebumps all the time!

Stunning, Awesome, Beautiful... The song got it all! It has tenderness, it has emotion, it got rhythm, it got soul, it got the gospel. Jeangu grows, but so does the song. It grows to the moment you clap your hands, move your body because the rhythm gets into you. You just can't sit still.
For me, this may be one of the best songs that have ever reached the ESC. As Duncan said last year: "Music First" and oh man..., was he right!!
There is a small problem with this song. It's too short. You want it to last so much longer. after the sad beginning of the song, it lifts you up and you want to dance. It's Jeangu, who takes us on a journey of a part of his life. And then..., there is the echo of the last tone. It Is the "ESC-3-minutes-rule". Good for many other songs, but not for Grow! Please, all audiences, pay respect to these 8 seconds of essential silence. The echo of the last tone: only 8 seconds. And then: LET'S ALL GO CRAZY!!! Or: "HET DAK ERAF"!!!

Maybe it sounds crazy, but I feel that the Netherlands has a good chance to get a great result again! It sounds live phenomenal, too. Well - you don´t know how Europe will tick this year, but however it will end in May, they can be proud of him and this entry.

The first time I heard it, I found myself wanting to hear and process every lyric. Now each time I listen to it I fight getting emotional.
So good to hear an emotional, textured song in a year characterised by novelty songs & silly dances.

Yes indeed, the song lifts up to a crescendo, that less people understand, but I think that's art. I'm truly proud of this song, as a Dutchman, I can say that the ESC is to me is interesting, since 2014, when Anouk appeared on stage. Many thanks and you are so welcome in the Netherlands!

I also watched the live version. Even better than the video - which is charming. The song has a dramatic sudden ending. Powerful on the video. But really this song needs a longer version beyond the confines of the Eurovision three minute format.

Its probably the most touching song ever entered eurovision. Makes me cry. His voice is amazing, this and switzerland comes straight from the heart and feels completely apart from the rest of the competitors.

In general sensitive people feel conneted with it right away. people who do'nt want to explore their feelings label it as boring. Actually i don't care about winning, i think as the host country with this entry we do honour our theme: Open up! and grow! How beautiful is that.

Gorgeous and unique, gave me goosebumps. It’s not a typical Eurovision song and it stands out between the ballads. I’d even root for this song if it wasn’t from my home country 💕

The way I see it is simple, he ended at the climax and on a high note. Which is daring but I do think it does make the song as daring as the lyrics!

I think the result for this song is going to be around where PROUD ended up last year around number 6-7. Right now out of all the songs released so far, it should win songwriting award for this contest and if they had an award for best video, it should win that too. Quality entry. Congrats Host Nation!

They're placed 23rd in the final, if the staging is right, cosy, intimate and it does justice to the song...

The end should show people on the led screen. From 1 to a whole bunch, all together- a bit like a flash mob just not dancing but singing. This will show that no one is alone and that this song speaks for a lot of people. This way you can also have a lot of people on stage and go around the 6 people restriction.
