For the first time in years (maybe with the exception of Michael Schulte) most Germans are satisfied with this selection. Unlike last year, the song is strong on iTunes and is being played on the radio. Everything about this song is done highly professional and that's been missing in the German entries for a long time. Finally Germany woke up and brings a production that's being expected from Germany by the other countries.
If the staging will be good, this is going to be high up on the left side of the scoreboard. And not only from TVOG 2018 we do know, that Ben can deliver live. He left a great impression with the acoustic version of Violent Thing, which he sang during the presentation show last Thursday. Fun Fact: Alessandro Rütten (aka Sandro), who will be representing Cyprus this year, has also been a (very strong) TVOG 2018 contestant.
@Rasmus Andersson It's Germany. Apparently negativity is in our blood🤷♀️. I mean everyone's denying it now but I remember the negativity that was thrown at Michael Schulte as well
@Rasmus Andersson The overall reaction has been overwhelmingly one of surprise: a positive surprise. You will always find people who are negative for the sake of it, though.

Most people in Germany like the song, but a large number doesn't like the way it was chosen, without a national selection.

B-OK is Austro-Bulgarian Borislav Milanov, the composer and producer of the song. Also founder of the Symphonix label. Moreover, the staging for this song in Rotterdam is currently being developed by Czech-American choreographer Marty Kudelka, of Justin Timberlake's Super Bowl Half-Time Show fame.

Damn, they really got my attention. As a german I was very unhappy with the way our entry was decided this year. But then again, I'm now seeing many positive reactions from ppl outside of germany and the song is pretty catchy. Really excited for how it will play out live.
As an American, most ppl didn't like Justin Timberlake's Superbowl Halftime performance. Hardcore JT fans loved it but everyone else here was "meh".
I'm worried.
Justin Timberlake's Halftime Show was a major FLOP. Not something to brag about.

I'm really feeling this, I liked it immediately on first listen. You can really hear the professionalism and experience in the songwriting and production. On top of it, Ben has a really unique and interesting, kind of andrgynous voice which I'm digging.

B-OK is the band Ben entered the Slovenian national selection for Eurovision wo ty a few years back.

As a german I can say considering recent entries like Levina , Sisters or Jamie-Lee which were mediocre songs with no big impact THIS is a step forward in the right direction. Especially in a ballad heavy year lile 2020 this might likely do well. I wouldn't guarantee a top ten finish but I can see this at least finish close behind top 10 (11th, 12th..)

i agree with "we needed a song like this". My first reaction was just that it had enough "room" considering what we heard until now. 2 or 3 years ago, t would have gone unnoticed, but this year I feel it's going to do great........ no Luca Hanni for example. he popped into my mind like 4 seconds before you mentioned him in your comments.

One of the better attempts from Germany in recent years, besides Michael Schulte. An upbeat dance track. So far so good, only the high pitch voice of Dolic turns me off in the studio cut!! Lets wait and see how he sounds live on the big stage in Rotterdam??!! Well Done Germany. All the Best
It´s a bit plastic but I think in a good and easy way. We need radio friendly songs like this in the competition. Every year only winners with no hits but special effects, drama and/or exaggerated emotions are not the right way if the ESC still wants to have a long future.

I totally agree with William. I don't like this type of music usually, either, but I LOVE this song. The song fits perfectly with Ben's voice and the production is amazing. A lot of people questioned whether Ben can pull this of live. On the Eurovision Song Contest Germany TH-cam page, there is an acoustic version of this song with Ben singing accompanied by just an acoustic guitar. His voice sounds almost exactly like it does in this official video. I was really impressed. I am generally a ballad person, and there are a lot of really good ballads this year, but this song is in my overall Top 5. This is one song I am really going to miss seeing performed on the big Eurovision stage.

The staging in Rotterdam will be done by it’s either justing timberlakes current or former choreographer and artistic director. So I would imagine that Ben Dolic would be able to bust some moves given this reality.
