In my opinion the only drawbacks are the taillights. I personally don’t like them. But from any other angle (including interior) the car is just beautiful.
Similar pricing and power as the Stinger GT... a littile bit nicer interior than that but then this is optioned up?? But the Stinger is way more practical.
What a phenomenal review. 19:39 - 20:03 - that was the best ad you could ever have for this car. Clean, crisp audio, the burble of the engine noise, rolling into the throttle entering the freeway - just perfect. I want to buy this car so badly now.

Holy shit the GM chime has finally changed. GM used the same seatbelt chime for like 30 years and was used in all their brands. Nice to see GM put a tiny bit of effort into Caddy
Cadillac needs proper engineered audio systems for all its vehicles. Similar to the effort of the Bose Panary for the CT6. Bose premium audio is always underwhelming to those folks who actually like good audio like myself. For a luxury brand they need to offer good engineered audio systems with higher power. Other luxury brands do this. Bose premium is just not special as it is common. Good Review like always!

i always hear complaints about these GM bose systems, but I've never felt like those complaints are really justified, for the majority of people these systems are really good. If you really want a premium audio system you should pick components yourself.

@@protovack I agree with you about what the masses think. Bose is the first audio brand that most people buy when they want to buy "good" audio. Since they are better than lower tier audio brands. The problem with your last point is that modern cars have the stereo unit integrated. So it is just not as easy as replacing the drivers and amps. Especially for the touch screens with an integrated stereo.
It’s a great car and perfect for its segment in the market. Caddy has plenty of problems, which all caddy owners know, but those who totally dismiss or hate on the product haven’t driven or owned a caddy ever (or in years). Pound for pound and dollar for dollar compare the options and power of a caddy, and then see how bmw, Benz, or Audi compare. Those makers will be much more $$$ on the msrp.
This is the best review of this I’ve seen. It also makes the best case for it. It looks good in black; even that black plastic piece of window trim almost makes sense. Performance looks good and it seems enjoyable, but as this review and others point out, reluctant downshifts undermine hard driving enjoyment.

@@keving7940 again, it's the tires. I have the same tires on my 19 c300 coupe and they do the same thing when I'm turning that tight turns at high speeds. It's a combination of the tires and 4matic or all wheel drive.

Wow. Great review. I'm amazed at this cadillac. The only other cadillac I liked before this and kept up with was the cadillac cts v. But this is a suitable replacement for me because I'm actually looking and comparing a bunch awd sedan choices so that I know what I finally want out of the mix when I'm ready to go buy. Awd is especially important to me so that I can get around all season long and be ready for snow and rain. Rwd won't do that for me and fwd isn't enough either.
Great looking car. I’m really impressed. They did a really nice job with it. The only thing I really don’t like is the “stuck on” look of the infotainment screen. It would look much nicer if it was integrated into the dash. Can’t wait to see the “real” V. I just wish it had the “real” Blackwing engine in it!
Too bad the Blackwing they built for the CT6 which was discontinued when the engine launched (only 200 will ever be built) won't be the V8 this car gets. @@Buc_Stops_Here I am glad it is going to be the LT4 (modified). I hate turbo engines. Besides if one wants a turbo V8 they can go to the Germans. The supercharged small block engine makes the car unique.
Folks have to keep in mind that the old CTS V Sport started at over $60k...which made it inaccessible for many people, especially once options were tacked on and also impractical as a daily driver due to fuel economy around 15mpg...with the CT5 V starting at around $47k, it is more affordable and can sell more units but obviously cut backs on power and premium features.. however for 2021 they will be doing some key interior upgrades including super cruise, premium leather wrapped steering wheel, wireless CarPlay, and a 12 inch fully digital gauge cluster
Yeah, sometimes they make it too convoluting because they decided to use an older name for something else and develop a new name when people are used to the old name being what the new name means. So stupid. It really just puts people off and sometimes they won't even bother checking a car out anymore because of some dumb marketing shit.

I've never heard of anyone getting claustrophobic in a car. I had a sunroof on my last car and was always paranoid of it leaking or cracking from hail in the Spring.
Hits: exterior design, power, handling, infotainment Misses: build quality, price, middling stereo, engine note, interior design, parts quality If they priced this loaded version at $45-50k, I'd give them a B for being aware that they still have improvements to make. At over $60k, and at $1000/month for a lease, it's a C-. These will be lot queens.
I purchased a new CT5V and it is a nice car. My car had a MSRP of $64,390. I look at Kelly Blue Book and Trade In Value is $43,350. I traded a 2018 CT6 3.0 TT Platinum and the trade in is $45,725. The CT6 was a much better car. Not happy at all.
To the people saying the interior looks cheap...I don't understand what you see in an Audi/BMW or Mercedes that's any better for this price point lol. There's always some severe bias favouring the germans "Just because"
@@Cannolilatte The Cadillac offers much nicer options than the basic black shown in the review. I bought one with the Maple sugar option, look it up! Open pore wood and beautifully coloured leather. (All the options are no cost by the way)
I was a mechanic in Oakland county in my younger days. It’s so hard to erase those gen 1 cts’s out of my head. And really all 2000’s caddy’s. They were so bad and sub par to euro counterparts. Back in the day (2006) the sport sedan to have was the Audi rs4. And it still is. Or the m340i.
Dull and drab is a bit of an understatement, while this interior is functional and very well laid out, this just doesn't scream luxury to me. Would have liked to have see some ambient lighting, fully digital display, amoung some other amentities. It's a great car but I feel it's not worth the price they are charging for it. I have no problem paying aroung 35-40k for this. EDIT: When comparing this to the new Acura TLX that came out, this seems like a bit of a compromise. If this came in a manual, I think Cadillac would have something here.
Sounds exactly like an Infiniti G35 sedan, from the exhaust bark to the valvetrain sounds at idle with the hood open. A huge plus since Nissan refuses to make a car that nice anymore. Seems to drive nicely enough as well. Will keep an eye on these used. ;)

Does Cadillac still have the seat vibration for the parking sensors instead of it beeping at you like other cars? I absolutely LOVED that about their cars and would be sad to see that feature go
There would be more luxury if the small driver-side and passenger side mirror were bigger. Being the size they are you end up having to turn your head before every lane change. And it'd be nice if PSI, Engine-Temperature and Fuel status displayed in the dash cluster. As it is you have to fuss with the steering wheel controls to see them. And it'd be nicer if the GPS pointed toward the driver instead of the roof center light. The demo would have been better if we could see the GPS going with a destination. And it'd be nice to see a switch from GPS to CD and back. And seeing the backup camera and the blind-spot camera (if there is one) would have been nice. Eh I own a 07 GM and it's pretty much the same except it's not LED.
Alwin Baybayan Brother has a 2014 silverado v8 and it has about 150,000 miles and it has not had a single major repair apart from tires and oil changes
Nice car, but the transmission on my M340i has completely spoiled me. The shifts are so immediate for a non Dual-Clutch setup, it's hard to believe that there is much out there that's better at this price point.
Am I the only one who thought 90's BMW interior when you look at it from the POV perspective? Not a copy per se, but the way it was ergonomically designed.

Driven one today, but the 2.0T. Look forward to driving the 3.0T. Really enjoyed it! Have to say this is probably my most favorite cars in this class.

I own a 2020 CT5-V AWD. It is NOT brake by wire, but it IS electronically boosted braking.

$50K and no sunroof?! WTF?!
I go out of my way to find no sunroof. The headroom is more important to me and these sunroofs eat a good inch or two from it.
As an Uber driver, I NEED as big sunroof I can get. MY Customers love it and it prevents me from getting claustrophobic when driving long shifts.

Right!!! Cadillac usually had the other chime that can be heard on practically every GMC, Chevy, and Buick
The old chime is gone across all of the GM vehicles for the 20/21 model years.

Nice car, but the transmission on my M340i has completely spoiled me. The shifts are so immediate for a non Dual-Clutch setup, it's hard to believe that there is much out there that's better at this price point.
