Cadillac is really stepping up they’re game. This Cadillac is beautiful. I hope Cadillac in the future goes so far as to compete with other high end European luxury car brands and makes 12 cylinder cars with hand crafted detailed interiors
@@sandrokalandadze7978 I'm aware of that, and I hope that continues. Seriously, comment on the car in the video, we all know that Doug says THIS a lot. It's not funny anymore. Y'all are sad.
To the point about introducing the V first before Blackwing - BMW introduced the M340i before the M3. The M3 is expected because it has a history, but it's not necessarily a bad choice. Part of the issue I think is that cars have become so powerful, that you have to separate experience - a more sporty experience vs vehicle for the track. It's a sign of the era we are in for vehicles - it's harder to provide value through power. I'll wait to see what Cadillac will do with the Blackwing before forming any deeper opinion. Great review as always.
Heard Doug talking about not having a full digital gauge cluster, I just bought a 2021 CT5 V Sport and you can now spend $1,200 to get a 12 inch gauge display for all 2021 CT5 models.
Can't agree more, and I'm 26 (Millennial). Screens are so boring and fake, the screen in the center plus the main touchscreen are fine but gauges are classic, functional, and don't go out of style, plus I think they're nicer to look at.
I also like real gauges but most instrument clusters have dual gauges (speedo and tach), and as we can see from this Caddy, it is difficult to integrate a good size screen with two real gauges. Porsche 911 probably has the best of both worlds, because it has a center tach gauge design. You get the true analog tach in the middle, flanked by two big screens on the sides which can be configured to your liking. That's my favorite design so far.
The 2021 CT5 has a 12” digital gauge cluster optional like the German competition so this will address that omission if that really concerns you. I mean even the 7-8” center display is already configurable enough probably for most people & that will be the standard gauge cluster screen now lol
Doug’s sponsors are ads that I really don’t mind. He said in a video awhile back on his 2nd channel More Doug Demuro that he doesn’t do ads, and the only times he does is when he truly uses or believes in a product, so I think this ad has a credible source! I love watching Donut Media on the other hand, but their Manscaped ads are just ridiculously random 🤦🏻♂️
I think they are letting cars and bids use their service for a reduced price if Doug did an ad segment. Everything the company does seems like it would be relevant to dougs business but idk
i like how doug promotes his sponsor. Its not all flashy with some illustrations. It takes me back to the time when ads were cool. Very old-school, Doug.
Doug, hope you read this, I'm a long-time viewer of your channel and I'm really glad you've gotten to the level of success you have. :) Just an FYI, as an auto-journalist (outside of your channel), you seem to be the single most influential force in the car world and on the car market. I see you referenced now all the time in articles, and when you say a car is a "great deal," I can literally watch the prices rise and scarcity for that model increase. It's wild. My only request is that you don't do a review on the ISF because prices are already nuts. Thanks for all your reviews over the years!
Rear end reminds of a Nissan Versa. The traditional trunk is a huge missed opportunity - they should have utilized a more practical and sporty hatchback.
Lincoln finally started making some real luxury cars again instead of rebadged Fords. I think Caddy and Lincoln need to separate farther from the parent companies as for as what they make if they want to be looked at as a real competitor against Mercedes or BMW. I think Lincoln did well with the Navigator, but the Escalade still looks like a rebadged GMC.
Michael Conran Yes...just like Japan is being back their sports cars/super cars by the likes of the GTR, NSX,400Z and Supra amongst others, America should also bring back their luxurious vehicles
Heck i have been in a qx80 and I would instantly choose that over the ct5 v because of one thing. A V8 and it actually looks expensive for a well... expensive suv
Coronavirus must have really hit Doug hard... I can’t ever remember seeing another sponsor and I’m kind of hoping to not see one again. It just seems- demeaning in a way. On the upside, the ad read was mildly hilarious in an unintentional 1978 sort of way.
2017 Douglas: “I will never, ever, ever sell out to you...my viewer.” 2020 Douglas: “Thisssss...is a sponsored ad by constant contact and also here’s a 2 minute intro touting my cars & bids website, shoving my ads right down your gullet!”
Doug talks about the "pretty cool feature " of being able to turn on the heated/cooled seats when you use the remote start. He acts like this is a new feature but my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica has this option.
Cadillac's been graded on a curve for a long time now, because American automotive journalists desperately want the Germans to have American competition. That doesn't happen AS MUCH now that Lincoln's not only no longer a joke, but makes some of the nicest interiors on the market period. They want sport though, Motor Trend is happy to finally have a GLS competitor but wants something to go against the M5. Still, now that an American brand is actually an example of a good luxury interior, Cadillacs don't get to be "as good as BMW" just because they drive as well. But Cadillac ultimately is still an underdog, story and everyone loves to root for the underdog. There's always an effort to search for standard features on a Kia or Chrysler that they can claim are cool, unique, and luxurious because most people won't know better.
21:45 "Honey, who is that guy talking to?" Caddy is slipping... For fack sake just bring back Fleetwood, Deville, Seville and Eldorado. Take all the ABC-123's mess and dump it. Oh and Dougy... No point at all in blurring the badges on the Land Rover. We all know what it is. Edit for typo
Agreed, Cadillac should have never tried to copy the European brands' meaningful model nomenclatures with a jumble of alphanumeric soup. DeNysschen was an idiot, Carlisle could have corrected the CT5 "v" but clearly didn't. The V car I'm hoping for is 550+ HP wagon.
People are ready for traditional Cadillac styling again. Look at Lincoln. American luxury can make a comeback if Cadillac stops trying to be European luxury..

GM: "We have a 335HP V6"
Also GM: "Lets make a twin turbo V6 that makes... 25 more hp"
whyyyyy
Yeah I never understood that move. The same 3.0TT made 404hp in the CT6, and they both make 400 lb-ft sooooo... yeah. Having driven all three, the 3.0TTs are way smoother than the 3.6 and have much more low-end.
@@jakelee5456 The 404/400 LGW made more sense. But the fact that the V here makes even less than that... idk if it's so it doesn't step on the toes of it's bigger CT6 brother or what.
@@TheBreaded that would make sense, but the 2020 CT6 didn't even offer an LGW. Sometimes I think GM still thinks they're the only major car company in the world.
So you pay more and eventually the turbos will broke down and you will pay 😝😝

I totally agree! Give it some skins that match the interior.... done.
This car looks like it's business in the front, Honda Accord in the back.
That’s actually really true
The newest Honda Accord looks better than this
Or a Nissan Versa looking from the side
The seats look like they're wearing wifebeaters.

Cadillac is really stepping up they’re game. This Cadillac is beautiful. I hope Cadillac in the future goes so far as to compete with other high end European luxury car brands and makes 12 cylinder cars with hand crafted detailed interiors
Im disappointed Doug, where's "Thisssss " start???

Paul Carmi disappointment and dissatisfaction are different things
@@sandrokalandadze7978 I'm aware of that, and I hope that continues. Seriously, comment on the car in the video, we all know that Doug says THIS a lot. It's not funny anymore. Y'all are sad.
I can see why the cts v’s are going up In value. This is basically an econobox
yep ;(
Just like the c43 or m340i. For those who can’t afford the top dog.
Just wait for the Blackwing models.
Especially the V Wagons
To the point about introducing the V first before Blackwing - BMW introduced the M340i before the M3. The M3 is expected because it has a history, but it's not necessarily a bad choice. Part of the issue I think is that cars have become so powerful, that you have to separate experience - a more sporty experience vs vehicle for the track. It's a sign of the era we are in for vehicles - it's harder to provide value through power. I'll wait to see what Cadillac will do with the Blackwing before forming any deeper opinion. Great review as always.
You know the economy is bad when Doug has a sponsorship in his videos 😬😬😬

I love hearing THIS every once in a while
THIS...is the comment I like to see every once in a while 😅
Heard Doug talking about not having a full digital gauge cluster, I just bought a 2021 CT5 V Sport and you can now spend $1,200 to get a 12 inch gauge display for all 2021 CT5 models.
dougs the type of guy to film an infomercial style sponsor ad with quirky changing camera angles in his bright yellow land rover
Analog gauge cluster over digital every day of the week.
Yep, Gauge cluster should be simple, just what you need to know. How many friggin screens you need?
Same here, the only exception being Mercedes-Benz, VW/Audi & Lexus.
I hate donut media with a passion
Im figuring he uses that sponsor for Cars & Bids or something
I always skip to the middle of the video but today I went back just to see the sponsor part ^^
I bet everyone is reading comments while paid promotion is running 😀
Nah just double tapped my screen a few times 😂
It was easier to skip than an ad at least, just a couple double clicks yeah
And thisssss is one more sponsor
I think they are letting cars and bids use their service for a reduced price if Doug did an ad segment. Everything the company does seems like it would be relevant to dougs business but idk
th-cam.com/video/kFgFPPYc5JU/w-d-xo.html
i like how doug promotes his sponsor. Its not all flashy with some illustrations. It takes me back to the time when ads were cool. Very old-school, Doug.
Doug doing a sponsored video! Indeed

th-cam.com/video/kFgFPPYc5JU/w-d-xo.html
Doug, hope you read this, I'm a long-time viewer of your channel and I'm really glad you've gotten to the level of success you have. :)
Just an FYI, as an auto-journalist (outside of your channel), you seem to be the single most influential force in the car world and on the car market. I see you referenced now all the time in articles, and when you say a car is a "great deal," I can literally watch the prices rise and scarcity for that model increase. It's wild.
My only request is that you don't do a review on the ISF because prices are already nuts. Thanks for all your reviews over the years!
Analogue gauges, proper buttons for climate, proper gear lever, Rwd, great distinct look
Love it. Come to europe with it ey
Doug must have gotten a lot of money he doesn’t usually do sponsorships.
I know that’s what I was thinking. It’s kinda sad to see him do it he said he would never
Brian Francis Well he said that he wouldn’t usually do it unless they gave him an offer he couldn’t turn down.
Yeah i think they paid him a fuck ton. Or maybe its a company he genuinely supports, because he says he does those.
@@rubberbandmandestruction390 no Doug said he wouldn't take the sponsership unless it was something he actually uses.
Yeah be has done sponsorships for a speaker for example so it's not the first time.
Cars & Bids couldn't afford the ad space on Doug's vids anymore??
Who’s ready for Doug to review the CT5 Blackwing
Rear end reminds of a Nissan Versa. The traditional trunk is a huge missed opportunity - they should have utilized a more practical and sporty hatchback.

There was a time when one would associate the name Cadillac to American Luxury Vehicle and then, there is the random Cadillac today
@RITA , I LOVE SЕХ , WANT SЕХ !!! OPEN MY CANAL !!! No.
Michael Conran
Yes...just like Japan is being back their sports cars/super cars by the likes of the GTR, NSX,400Z and Supra amongst others, America should also bring back their luxurious vehicles
It looks like a “premium” rental at the airport

Coronavirus must have really hit Doug hard... I can’t ever remember seeing another sponsor and I’m kind of hoping to not see one again. It just seems- demeaning in a way. On the upside, the ad read was mildly hilarious in an unintentional 1978 sort of way.

Doug talks about the "pretty cool feature " of being able to turn on the heated/cooled seats when you use the remote start. He acts like this is a new feature but my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica has this option.
I have an STS, and when I use the remote start it turns on either the heated or cooled seats.
21:45 "Honey, who is that guy talking to?"
Caddy is slipping...
