Jaguar VS Caiman
A hungry jaguar surveys its options for a meal until it has no choice but to dive into the water and throttle a caiman. The battle is fierce, but the outcome is like all outcomes between jaguars and caimans. The cats reign supreme and the crocodilians pay a hefty price. On safari, a good sighting usually lasts only a few seconds, but occasionally, a good sighting lasts for several minutes. That was the sighting in question. The female jaguar caught and killed a massive caiman, which is impressive in and of itself, but she then attempted to drag it up the bank and hide it in the shrubs. The caiman's size was a little too much for her to handle, so she swam back across the river with it. She dragged it down the shore before abandoning it and returning to her cubs.
She took the first one, then the second, before swimming back with both pups to dine on the poor caiman! What an amazing sighting! Wildlife enthusiasts followed this large female jaguar in the Brazilian Pantanal as she hunted along the river's edge. She saw a caiman in between the plants in the river and pounced on it! She must have been underwater for about ten seconds fighting, to make the kill! This was without a doubt, the best moment onlookers had on the river during their stay as they witnessed the amazing attack. When jaguars and caimans come together, there is usually only one winner, but that doesn't mean the caiman will give up easily. This battle took place in the Pantanal, in Brazil, and this caiman was a fighter! The jaguar, exhausted after the struggle underwater, came up with a better plan: just pin the caiman underwater until it drowns, which it did.
Otter VS Crocodile
This otter circles this caiman numerous times, thinking and preparing an assault, but the reptile is alert and prepared. It's interesting to note that the otter is the predator and not the other way around. Otters are much smaller than caimans, but they are aggressive, fearless, and will defend themselves to death if they must. Check out how big this saltwater crocodile is, and how dare this otter approach so close to it? The best thing is when the otter gets close enough, the crocodile doesn’t even try attacking it. Otters can intimidate and challenge larger animals such as crocodilians and jaguars. The massive crocodiles in this footage don't seem to bother these otters in the least. No matter how large their opponent is, they will charge and attack, especially when they are a large group.
When attacked by larger predators like crocodiles, otters are known to band together and collaborate, as you can see in the following clips. Otters can be some of the nastiest creatures on the planet. They may appear cute, but they are no strangers to heinous acts such as capturing newborn otters and keeping them for ransom in exchange for food. But, hey, they must eat, don't they? Otters are carnivores that require a quarter of their body weight in food every day. Oddly enough, otters are often the apex predators or close to the top. These otters are looking for a caiman and they dive underwater to get a better look before disappearing in the foliage. It appears they have made a kill, but it’s impossible to see, exactly what has happened.
It’s insane how cats act like they own the world. Scaring off a freaking alligator.
They win war through psychological way
They get it from their human owners 😂
It's in their DNA
They're just the guardians of the "underworld" (subconscious mind) 😉
Jaguars have incredible bite strength that easily puncture and crush skulls plus they have lightning speed and dexterity
I find it strangely satisfying to see a croc get beat
LOL ain't that the truth? It'll even feel better when you have gator as food
Crocs have no redeeming value whatsoever - the world, especially gazelles and zebras can do without them.
Watching lions get flung and yeeted by buffaloes is far more satisfying
I love crocs and gators, though. I keep several as "pets" and they're amazing. Obviously have to watch myself around them but they're pretty docile for the most part. They charge at me every now and then but I know how to maneuver around to avoid a nasty bite. Boy they see that bucket of food coming with me and they go nuts!

Fun fact: Crocs have the strongest bite force of all animals
And jaguars have the strongest bite of all big cats - yes even tigers
Jaguar is my second favorite big cat my first is the African lion
@@frankwhite6482 - my favourite is the stealthy leopard
I’m glad you made the distinction between African lions and Asian lions- found in the Ghat region of India- not many people know there are lions in India
"And jaguars have the strongest bite of all big cats - yes even tigers"
I have serious doubts about that claim, not least because tigers are roughly *twice* the mass of jaguars.
@@alexanderSydneyOz - Jaguars have the strongest jaw muscles of all of the big cats. Their bite force is around 1,500 pounds per square inch, which is about double that of a tiger! Bella recently got the opportunity to use this strength to pull down a beef bone that her Zoo Keepers secured onto a log in her habitat.
I have been researching big cats awhile now
@@Ocalif3 Unless I am mistaken, Jaguars routinely crush the skulls of their prey whereas other big cats go for the throat and kill that way in that softer area of the prey's body.

The jaguar: "Tastes like chicken!" 🐆🐆🐆
One of cat's best surivival traits is their ability to act like they're insane. Those cats could've easily been dinner but their tendency to be unpredictable and crazy makes the crocs just not want to be involved.
It's like a crazy person going nuts, you just want to get away. It's instinct to leave.

Cats... they're crazy 🤣 🤣 these are my favourites from this film
Jaguar has other-wordly power. It's beyond me, how the Jaguar can haunt crocodilians and alligators like they're little fish, and kill them with 1 bite
not full grown crocs or gators, try to get serious. those lizards with chomp silly jaguar
I don't see even lions killing crocs, cause they're terrified of water and they do not have the jaw strength to crack their skull with one bite, which are facts. Jaguars are the ultimate predator: They can swim, dive, climb trees (even carrying prey as heavy as them or some times heavier than them), kill way bigger prey, triturate bones -like hyenas do-, and have the bite to kill their prey immediately even if it's scaly alligators inside water @@victorwiley3739
They go after the juvies. Adults caimans and alligators aren't on the menu
It actually doesnt really matter the size, jaguar has the strongest bite from all felines and they usually aim for the brain, meaning they will crush their skull and their brain if done correctly meaning one hit kill
@@gustavorodriguesdeandrade2336 size does matter dude. A bigger caiman would be far harder to kill. Bigger Caimans have a wider skull. Even though jag has the strongest bite force, the mouth size is not that big compared to other big cats
2:22 "just pin the caiman under water until it drowns"
Man, what are you talking about? Do you have an idea how long those things can hold their breath for? How is a jaguar supposed to outbreathe a caiman?
The little dog that chased the alligator at the end of this video eventually became a snack for that alligator
The end is cutted away
Yeah... that was sad to watch. Knowing it was an issue they should have had him on a leash. That dog wouldn't listen.
Well well. . . Jaguar really exceptional. Amphibious and nimble on the trees
“Pin the caiman under til it drowns.” 💀💀 Right…Crazy me for thinking I’d drown before the thing that hides underwater for a living.
Gators and crocs can drown
That was a female bushbuck not an impala. The baboon that saved the baby was the dominant male baboon and the female baboon that got bit was the mother of that baby the male baboon had tried to save. When the crocodile bit the mom it grabbed the baby out of her arms as she drank. Biting a chunk out of her arm at the same time.
As a Brazilian i have to explain something, the Jaguar does not pray on adult Caimans, yes they hunt and kill baby and juvenile caimans but not adult ones, adult caimans are too big and heavy for an adult jaguar, adult caimans are the apex predators of the amazon, they win against adult jaguars and anacondas, however most of the times these animals avoid each other, the outcome of a fight between large predators usually result in death or severe wounds to both.
They will prey on younger adults but not seniors.
JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE STRONGEST BITE FORCE DOESNT MEAN THAT THEIR INVINCIBLE
Strongest biteforce but limited mobility, them big cats are safe as long as they don't go near the jaws
nothing is invincible. MAYBE a full grown healthy sperm whale... sharks and killer whales avoid them
As long as they don't leave their domain which is the water they are almost invincible. It's the same for most predators. Like lion is called the king but even lion ain't invincible
yes,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, also: put the biggest male lion against a hippo,,,,,,,,,, against a rhino,,,,,,against an elephant,,against a saltwater croc,,,,,,,,,,,,against a tiger. Lions are overrated; successful ONLY because they hunt in a coordinated pack. individually lions are average.@@pigbenis5295

Cat can do a better job defending itself than a dog against crocodile
Swimming neither have much chance
One quick note from the beginning- narrator says "if there's one creature that is not afraid of other animals it's the Crocodile."
Mostly true, but the Crocs sure seem to be pretty scared of Hippos and absolutely TERRIFIED of Elephants...
Not forgetting Hippos. They have a low tolerance level where Crocs are in their way!
They (hippos) can bites adult males (crocs) in half.
And scared of humans
"The baboon will not receive medical attention"....... no, no he won't. You're killin me man.
Poor caiman. Can't win a fight with a cat even on its home turf lol
It was a extremly small caiman to the point it was likely a adolescent female.
Kind of reminds me of Temple Owl football team. They are really shitty, year after year!
Bruh it's a juvenile caiman. Of course an adult jaguar will dominate it
18:50 Watch the full video this is what seems to be the dog owners backyard the dog does this on a couple of separate occasions and the last time the croc grabs it and takes it in the water! The crazy part is the owner’s reactions they seem surprised the croc ate the dog

i got impressed from the otters, i did not know they were that vicious
They may be the most vicious animals in the world. They bite female otters mouths closed until they drown and continuously rayp them even days after they're dead. They are sadistic.
Felt so sorry for that poor Baboon.
I sure did not know that otters kidnapped for ransom. That's truly wild.
Yep, they are also heavily involved with Loan Sharking, numbers running, hyjacking trucks etc. Otter crime families are much more descrete about their "business" dealings than their human counterparts which is why most people are unaware of their actions. 😉

The one thing that can prevent a caiman or even a croc is when being chased by one, always run zigzag. They are unable to keep up since they can only run a straight line.
@8:26.... That reminds me of the scene from the Lion King when the warthog screams, "SHE'S GONNA EAT ME!!!"
I consider Crocodilians, especially the Nile Crocodile, demons of the rivers, marshes, and swamps. As far as my memory could recall, River Wolves wholly resemble Otters and live in romps, but they are much larger and stronger, which is why they ambush large creatures and even humans[to fend off], which Otters cannot.
What are river wolves?
River Wolves are Amazonian Otters. That is their nickname. They are a large otter with tail averaging 5 to 6 feet.
Hippos are the real kings
They otter know better
On land they’re fairly outmatched. Slow, cumbersome and more often than not don’t make a kill…
@ 8:30... WOW, how calm was that water then all of a sudden BOOM, attack.
lifesaving advice, do NOT hang out by the waters edge in alligator and croc territory.
The most amazing part for me is.... The fact the Jaguars know exactly where to bite the Caiman... Anyone who hunts gators, know where that soft spot is..

I can't believe otters hold children ransom till payments are made. Thats some Tony Montana chit right there
So crocodiles apparently don't have the flight or fight instinct They just have the fight. The baboons can't swim well, I don't understand why it doesn't swim away. They are powerful swimmers
Salt water crocodile and otters? As far as i know they live in different areas and don't meet. I think you mean caiman as they are living alongside otters in the Amazon. With this start to the videos narration i don't have that high hopes of the rest being reasonably accurate either, but time will tell. I could be positively surprised. The "crocodile" which didn't attack the cat because you think it wasn't "big enough to be worth it" That was a gavial and they prey on fish. This is why they have so long slim jaws.

I wonder what would happen if the jaguar tangled with a Nile crocodile.
Probably wouldn't go good for the Jaguar. Caimans are small when compared to other crocodilians. Nile crocodiles can get huge. And as we observed in the video, the big cat was occasionally having some difficulties handling a caiman. So I'm pretty sure they would have no chance against a nile crocodile.
In general Jaguars only challenge Caymen and medium size Its highly unlikely that a jaguar would pose any threat to a large Nile crocodile.
