IMO one of the best pads for a street car are the Endless MX72PLUS : good cold bite, great fade resistance, not very agressive (for rotors wear) and low dust and noise !
I highly recommend after you finish washing the car before you dry the wheels drive the around the block and get all the water out the rotor it will help with the rotor getting that rusted coating when it’s sitting after a drive. I normally go 10-12 mph brake and do it 2 more times, we also do it at the detail shop i work at.
I do the rusty rotor dance. I go back and forth on the driveway applying the brakes to rid the rust. I also use a rust preventive after the wash that keeps the flashing rusting down to a minimum.
I used these same pads on my e46 m3 and the initial cold bite was not the same as OEM, it was horrible, but once heated up it was better, I then switched to the brembo ceramic pads and it was perfect. My guess is maybe they changed something for the f series for the brakes to have better initial cold bite.
I got my f80 car the wheels and calipers ceramic coated and I don't get any brake dust. I don't even need to scrub with soap just water in anything and it's clean as a whistle.
I'm between the Endless MX87, Ferrodo DS Performance, EBC Yellowstuff, Pagid Street+ brake pads and I can't really decide. Anyone with some advice? I'm not doing trackdays, but I drive on fast streets, backroads and on the German autobahn.
I’ve been running the same pads on my truck and haven’t experienced any noises what so ever the 2+ years with them on. I am willing to bet it will be the same experience with these on the f80.
Great video, super helpful guide when I need to change mine. Off topic but any tips you can give to driving in sport+ with the 6MT with the rev matching and upshifts? It seems like no matter what I do, the car lurches slightly, could be how torquey the motor is. What's your process on downshifts and upshifts?
Tuning does help a lot as the stock mapping is a bit more rough I've found. I've found you need to hang onto the clutch a bit longer in this car to drive it smoother. I doing the auto solutions ssk and UCP clutch pedal which will help smooth things out dramatically. Also deleting the CDV also is known to help as well.
I plan to do one. Most likely the macht schnell kit as I prefer that method of install. The titanium ones look nice but read some scary stories on them.
Great video! I have an F30 320d. My brakes squeak quite a bit when I'm braking and I always get a ton of break dust. Do you think getting these brake pads will help with both of those things? Thanks!
FCP euro sells this for $200 and all there parts come with lifetime warranty, buy it once, send back the old part when u ordering the next one and they refund your account.
Installed these on my f80 about 2 years ago and my wheels look brand new still. Great choice 👍🏼

Project MU or Dixcel are also good jdm pads for low dust and good bite
Is it squeaking?
@@Stilo95 Nope😍

One of the best mods I did first when I got new wheels. Best decision ever so much easier to clean
Truly a huge difference. I should have done it sooner!
@@Autofreakgarage had it for a year now. No complaints
Akebono is top tier, 370z's come with Akebono Calipers, along with the McLaren P1 use Akebono Brakes.

Gonna have to get me some of these. Even with bronze wheels you can tell the difference 🥲

Have you considered if you have not experienced any squeal because of the outside temp? Do you think you may experience some in the winter?

Damn I really want to do this, but I just don’t know if these will have the initial bite as my stock M2C pads.
I’ve been driving on them for quite a bit since the video and I haven’t noticed any changes from stock other than less dust.

Just went with Brembos' new line of ceramic nao brake pads for the sti and they were super cheap I think it came out to under $100 shipped
What about break power? Is it better or worse with those ceramic pads?
The same if not better. Still brakes like no other.
What are your thoughts on a wheel stud conversion?

I felt your pain on my STI and switched to Hawk HPS and my brake dust is practically gone.
Which hawk pads did you go with? I'm looking at their hawk cp pads for my 2020 sti
I had the 5.0’s in my stock STI brembos and liked them th-cam.com/video/BoxCNsv73rg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6_odG7QRYwPpYVnc

22:28 I actually thought your wheels were bronze. Holy crap.
I started to think I had bronze wheels too 😆
Nice Volks!
Bronze TEs would’ve been sick on the car
I’m actually not a fan of them in MG. White or black it looks good, but it’s a color I’d get over quickly.

FCP is awesome. I’ve gotten a few things from them. Unmatched customer service and warranty for sure.
I use Akibono brake pads on my IS Lexus, best pads ever for brake dust😁
