  • Allergy comes from Allo(Altered) + Ergos(Work). Our immune system meant for defending us from germs, micro-organisms and other life threatening attacks in our microscopic environment inside our body (which we cannot see with our naked eyes); have produced some harmful reactions in our body which cause allergic reactions in the nose (itching, sneezing, runny nose and blocked nose), skin (itching, rashes and wheals), throat (itching, irritation of throat, dry cough etc) and lungs (Asthma and COPD etc). The allergic reaction is produced by the encounter of the allergens (materials/particles which are sensitive to our system) and the immune cells/antibodies in blood. The meeting of the allergen and immunoglobulins/immune related cells in our blood produce an allergic reaction with release of active materials/chemicals like histamine, SRS-A, prostaglandins etc. These active substances/chemicals released in the blood stream causes the reactions that are enumerated above to different organs of our bodies.
Nasal allergy or nose allergy can be seasonal (present in some particular seasons of a year) and are related to some particles present in the air in that particular season; like: pollens of grass, flowers, trees etc. or fungal spores, growths etc. Nasal allergy, which bothers us all throughout the year is called perennial allergy and it occurs when we come in contact with house dust and other dust/pollutant particles present in the air throughout the year. The degree of allergic reactions can be mild (which do not hamper daily activities and sleep) and severe (which disturbs daily activities and sleep). The mainstay of treatment of allergy lies in giving oral medications and nasal steroid sprays, which are very safe even for taking for months and years together. But side effects of medications cannot be ruled out and taking medications all the time bothers much with daily routine and lifestyle. So everyone wants some permanent remedy for allergy.
The answer to this has come finally in the form of Immunotherapy. Immunotherapy is a slow and continuous process of slow desensitization of the allergen to our body. The precess is done by giving metered doses starting from very minute dose in the form of drops of maximum dilutions to drops of maximum allowed concentrations by oral route and given sublingually (just under the tongue). First we need to identify the allergens causing allergic reaction to someone by doing skin prick test. The allergens are up to 200 in number. After doing identification of allergens by skin prick test, immunotherapy is started. The medicine (allergens in titrated graded dosage) is prepared for the individual person in a customized way. This immunotherapeutic medicine is taken by the person at home for twice a week/once a week/or once a month etc. The need for consultation of doctor may be needed only once in a month or so. The end result is desensitization of the allergen and relief from allergic reactions for many years/life. Kindly listen to my video and get necessary information for facing and getting cure from your allergy. Hope to hear from you.
