Jimmys "hidden dirty secret buy" doesn't surprise me at all, roadsters are the best seat time cars for most of us that are on a budget and can just add a few bolt-on's and a tune and be rewarded with smiles for miles. (relatable content) Just do the Oaks-Upgrade on it, suspension, wheels & tire fitment, turbo upgrade, exhaust, & a tune. I love that Spoon is getting so close, I'm digging those copper lines too dude. Need to see a little blurp of where Austin is at on his ride.
The best part about the Oakes garage is the diversity. So many of these automotive TH-camrs are an echo chamber for what one person finds cool. Austins style is different than Jims style which is different from Spoons style but everyone gets equal respect and I love to see it. Keep it up you guys are killing it

Seeing the 86 done brung tears to my eyes reminiscing about the one my dad had back in the early 90’s with the full wood kit and steering wheel, full length wood rear view mirror, stereo equalizer with like 20 knobs and some clean ass baby supras. Thanks for the instant reminder of why I love cars.
I've owned a blazing yellow NB for four years now. Wildwood 4 pot calipers front and rear, jic magic coilovers, 15x8 rpf1 with falken rt660. Racing beat header, cobalt cat back, cobalt intake, mishi rad. Colour matched hard top with a carbon roof wing, yellow stitching yellow signature nardi wheel, chikra yellow checkered floor mats, act heavy duty clutch. It's seriously the best car ever. They only made 250 up in Canada where I am
The view around the shop is insane with the projects going on at one time, that is serious growth. A+ Obviously Jimmy deserves even way more views than he has but the quality is insane based on the projects which to my my mind makes it sustainable. I don't have the metrics but I bet all the views and subs are very consistent repeats. Doing it the right way Oakes garage, you deserve all the success. PLEASE keep it coming because this is the only channel I check in every day and instant click every new video across any social media.
As a 6’3” miata driver. Highly recommend a drop floor and bucket seat. Get a set of dustins knuckles. Extended lower ball joints. And just drive it. Youll never have more fun at a track.
Bro nbs are my favorite! They are also so perfect for a seat time car because of the short wheel base it speeds everything up so jumping back into other cars it is all slowed down! Love the car!!!! My new favorite!!

There are a couple different things you can do to Miata's to make it tall people friendly. People cut out the seat mount humps and bolt the seatrails directly to the floor. However you probably have to also do the floor lowering mod. Nightstyle Miata's are some of the best.

I would say visually leave it as is, technically its rare, its full boomer spec, so ultimate sleeper build, turbo it, full spoon custom manifold and exhaust and have it look really unique under the hood. Maybe change the seats up so you can fit in it as well 😂 Or rotary build and have it drive around with the RX7s

I learned real quick to mark out your welds when you do stitch welds, take a piece of soap stone and something to measure and mark your start and stop of each stitch weld, you will be 10x happier in the end.

Even though you have 2 Porsches now and are out of the country 9 months out of the year....you still take the tike to tell us about stuff like the squat mounts that are not flashy etc but just work and help but require you to put in the effort. Same formula with so much of what I love about this channel.
i think i finally made up my mind on my favorite build on your channel... that 86 is so amazing, plus im a honda boy so it having a honda heartplant just checks all the boxes for me
I have owned/modded/raced every gen of Miata, including several NAs, NBs, NCs , NDs & Miatas get better with every gen. The NAs are cool cause popups, but NBs are superior in every way to NAs, NCs are slept on HARD, and NDs are the reincarnation of NAs - just modernized. There isn't a "bad generation" of Miatas. Anyone who says different hasn't driven one. If I buy another one anytime soon it will be a NC1 with the round openings - they look sick lowered w/ aggressive wheels. Fantastic cars. There are plenty of ways to fit in one as well - I am 6'2 & 200lbs. Kinda hoping it isn't a "seat time car" as you have a building full of cars gathering dust - so either leave this one alone of make it an autocross car or something different.
I most agree, but the early NBs and early NCs are the most lacklustre of the family. Its why i havent bought an ND, because i didnt want to end up with buys remorse if the later iterations were much better, following the trend

The 86 is reaching actual perfection. Yes it's expensive but it could be a car more than the sum of its parts. The attention to detail is why this channel has my fandom
dude bolt a seat to the floor and you'll fit in the NB no problem! im 6'1 and run a PCI mount, i sit super low and fit with a helmet no problem. dont be ashamed of miata ownership. they are undeniably great
if i’m not mistaken, Mazda came out with 2 different yellow cars in 2002, the Blazing Yellow Mica and Vivid Yellow. the numbers for BYM are around 1500 and Vivid Yellow was around 600 or so
I have the NB1 SE. One thing that surprised me when I bought it, how much faster it was than a 1.6 NA. Like.. a lot faster. It doesn't have the charm of the NA though, I will give them that.
SPOON!!! Those copper lines are gorgeous brother! I absolutely love the look of copper. Especially when it’s super subtle. Look up the “copper caddy” by kindigit designs. The fender liners are copper. 😮

I’m 6’2” and I fit in my drift Miata just fine! Get a simple turbo kit on it. 10psi. Simple angle kit and coilovers.

They make drop floor pans for the driver seat and fit pretty wide seats the shoulder bolsters have to be thin tho
