This video clearly shows how adding spoon to the shop improves the content. This would have normally been just a S15 on the dyno vid. But we got to also see the BMW get gutted and build plans clearly defined. I'm so impressed I had to mention it.
So I can't wait for the 86 vtec build. Coz then spoon be in his full glory

It's great to see Spoon pushing Jim out of his comfort zone and into harder more concrete decisions. Spoon is 100% a great addition to the gang. I said it before and i'll say it again. Spoon would have been great with either Aki or Jimmy and he definitely proved me right. ALSO, gotta love that "Catfish Vtec" phrase Spoon hit Jimmy with. LOL

When Jim put the clutch in and it didn't stall I started smiling like a kid 😂
How did he fix it?
@@css172 Apparently thinner oil and after the break-in on the dyno it just went away on its own he said. I'm always curious about break-ins because most people say 500-1000 miles at least and then others just go right to the dyno lol, such as Jimmy haha.
@@css172 the trust bearings were probably too thick and they self clearanced them selves?
@@jordank7685 No, if a bearing "clearanced itself" your engine would be toast.
@@evanlegault2257 me personally i have never really 'broke in' a engine iv built my own engine 4 times pluss 3 friends engines which have all been fine, mine running almost 500hp z20let 2.0 engine, all i do is 50 ish miles on millers breaking in oil change it then let her eat. all my engine failures have been melting pistons due to injectors and map

ha its intresting to see spoon going to work HARD on the e36, Jimmy wanted another hardworking jimmy in the shop but im not sure he was entirely ready for it :) i think once he gets used to having another hard working mechanic in the shop itll be INSANE content comming in the future.

I had similar issue w clutch in my S13, we used the bolts to pull the trans together to the engine and it binded on the clutch disc not allowing it to disengage/stall with pressure
Had a twin disk crank walk one of the rb’s i built. Check the clutch

I would definitely take the aproach adam did with his 36 with a full strip and blasting and painting the chassis after fabrication is done, gives a very professional look when its done
Sooo nice seeing Jimmy let someone else who is skilled build a car or work on stuff for him you can see and tell Jimmy is trying and struggling to let other people touch his stuff and we all get it because vwe see how well he builds and cares for everything

The e36 was always been in my mind when Jim said that he needed to build a rhd drift car. I just did not expect that he would go full send right out the gate with it. Good on you Jimmy, I can see that you will progress quickly as drifter. You just need to spot getting your nerves hold you back. You can do it kid.

Easiest way to check for metal in your oil, pull dipstick, wipe on napkin, put napkin in micowave

A thought I had that could help you with filming is see how he feels about filming what he is doing and you can both work on stuff and have multiple videos which could help you with getting more content so you can travel more and such. Just a thought.

I think the fresh clutch with a brand-new engine with tight tolerances can be the reason it stalled at the beginning. but now that the clutch and the engine had some heat cycles. I think that's why the clutch and engine are breaking in and settling in.
I agree. Whatever was causing the binding simply had to wear in.

Jimmy love the content!!!! Best on TH-cam. One correction VVL does have VTC but not independent from VVL. When VVL kicks in it also changes the cam timing.
With the cam lobes most usually refer to them as high and low cams, you usually drive around on low cam, then when VVL or VTEC kicks in it activates the high cam
Maybe you should put a clutch pedal stop. Maybe too much clamping force on the crank and rubs thrust washer enough to stall the car
So refreshing to have a Honda boy in the shop
