LEE CHONG WEI is the richest yet he has always remained humble. His whole family are also taught to remain down to earth and never to forget their humble roots. This is why Malaysians looked up to him and his family. Does it matter that he has many high end sports cars and owns many high end properties? I think he deserves it. Majority of the world have no idea the kind of punishment and grueling training he went through everyday for more than 20 years to fight for honours for our beloved Malaysia against all the world's top players. He trained so hard and kept pushing his body beyond its limit until his body reacted with cancer. He battled cancer and won and still wanted to go back to the grueling training but... the Doctor said if he were to do so, the cancer will come back. Faces with such a life threatening situation...he reluctantly and emotionally announced his retirement from competitive Badminton. He has nothing left to prove to the world...for the world has seen and marveled at the insane skill and talent of this sensational player from Malaysia for 20 years. Rest well LEE CHONG WEI. We thank you for your contribution to the world of Badminton. Never again will there be another player like you.

I think they are even richer thn tht. World series does give millions of usd as 1st prize. He played more open and win more than anyone i think. Plus the millions came frm endorsement and betting... Who knows. At his level throwing some game can pull a lot of money. Im not saying he did it but he cud.. ✌️

yes... yes they are, these guys are absolute kings in their countries. Literally. They compare in their respectable countries to Ronaldo and Messi. These guys cannot go out of their house without being trampled. In other countries (not naming anything specific) Fame and rankings actually get you money from governments to represent your country. So literally, the more famous you are, the more money you get. And the reason 1. LCW is this rich is not only because of badminton, besides the absolutely insane sponsor contracts, he is actually a very, very, like insanely successful businessman.
