Just something to think about. Since you are interested in Hebrew, which is great, Jesus is not a Hebrew name. The Almighty never called his son Jesus. He told Mary and Joseph to give him the same name as Joshua, though since there is no J in Hebrew, his actual name was Yahushuah. That means Yahuah (YHWH) saves. As was certainly the case for me in the past, before I knew better, I would pray to God and Jesus. As has been the case for countless millions. And since he is the father of Mercy, we could still get our prayers answered. But now that I know better, I personally want to use the names as seen in the ancient documents, like the dead sea scrolls. The Lords prayer begins, telling us that holy, set apart, is to be the name of the Almighty. We can’t really keep his name holy if we are calling him something he never called himself at any time, namely God.

In Hebrew, his name would have ben Y'hoshua3 (the 3 represents a glottal stop at the end of his name, not pronounceable by most English speakers). But also the New Testament is written in Greek, which Galileans commonly spoke in the first century, and it is given as Iesous. If you want to reverse reconstruct his Aramaic name, also spoken commonly, then it was Yeshua or Yesu, which is really quite close to the Greek, and the English is not far off. I'm not sure why his Hebrew name would matter since first century Jews did not speak Hebrew. The moral of the story is, if you are going to go around *correcting* people, you should probably learn the subject you're discussing. Also Yahuah? Really? Lol okay...

For example, when we are told that Messiah would be called Emmanuel, was that Greek? No it was Hebrew. When Yahushuah said “Talitha cumi” he was speaking in Hebrew because the word cumi means arise. It is not a Greek word at all. When he was on the cross, he cried out to Eli which in Hebrew, and certainly not in Greek, means my God. My friend, you are the one who is acting like you’re knowledgeable, when you are really not at all. First century Jews may have spoken Greek sometimes, just like people in modern Israel sometimes speak English because it is such a predominant language in the culture. But we have all kinds of written records showing that basically they spoke Hebrew. The fact that you were saying L O L to my post means to me that you go into the category of troll talkers. In fact everywhere in the New Testament where it says "in Hebrew" it means Aramaic. In Koine Greek of the first century, Aramaic was called Hebrew, but no one was speaking Hebrew, it was Aramaic.
