  • The NEW Blackmagic 8k Pro G2 card is available. This tutorial shows how to hook up video in and out to Unreal using this card. The method in the tutorial should work with most other Blackmagic DeckLink cards too, though this is the only one I have to test on. The new version of the card adds some features like HDMI in and out to what the original card could do. There are additional video formats available too. Check the Blackmagic website for more details.
A lot of the devices I use are on my amazon page at www.amazon.com...

I sometimes use the declink family to develop cloud video encoders these days. Thanks for the good explanation Greg.

Can this product's HDMI 2.1 also be used with VRR?

I honestly don't know, it's not mentioned in any of Blackmagic's tech data. I'd suggest contacting BlackMagic design's support staff on their website.

Amazing, thank you! Can it record and monitor simultaneously through HDMI in and HDMI out?

This setup is bringing in the camera video on SDI3, compositing it live with the CG animation in unreal and then unreal outputs the video to HDMI1 where my Ninja V recorder to record it. You could also record the output from your video card's HDMI output but the Blackmagic card supports more high quality video formats than most video cards do.
I have tested bringing camera video in through the HDMI which also works. I'm not sure about what comes out the HDMI output port in this setup, I will have to try it. My guess is that you can't input and output at the same time, or that the output is just a copy of the input.

Thanks for sharing, what is the version of the Desktop video setup? As I'm not able to be found the video input selection, checked with versions 14.2, 14.1 &14.0. Any suggestions will be appreciated. thanks

I was using 14.0.1 at the time I did this. Also I believe that the menus sometimes change if there is no active video source connected to the port.

Hi there. Can this card do a total of 5 I/O simultaneously?

I haven't tested it but I think it is only 4, I think the HDMI and SDI 1 are shared
