I like that the concerts back then didn't have to have 10 million backup dancers and flashing lights and all kinds of distracting things. Just your singer his band and that great voice. I miss it.
New music and old music... timeless anything musical you grow up with and progress with is a treasure with the talent all musicians give us to re leave us with our stress in our daily lives
He's an amazing performer and has a brilliant voice. I had him on my bucket list and saw him last March, absolutely the best show I've EVER seen. #SirRod
What a great concert vintage rod ,saw him on the worth leaving home for tour many years ago ,he kicked soccer balls into the audience all night, a true performer, and what a great band !!!
Sometimes you forget how heavy the talent in Rod's 70s band was. Jim Cergan, Gary Grainger, and Billy Peek all have some great guitar chops, the sax is screaming, and the rhythm section is pile driving

I`ve seen this program on Japanese TV about 1978. I recorded the audio part of this program into my cheep tape-recorder. And I listened the cassette tape many times. I remenber the chorus of audiences and Rod. Afterwards I lost the cassette tape. But this program is my wonderfull memory on my youth. By the way, the drummer of this back band was Carmine Appice. It`s also nostalgic. He glances on the screen.
I love his music! And I think his dodgy loud outfits and all the make-up is deadly! It made him who he was! It was a great image, certainly unique! He wasn't one bit shy anyway, beaming with confidence! Fair play to ya Rod, good on ya man. Great concert! Keep on rockin' bro! From Davey (Ireland)
fantastic band and Rod is the inspirational performer front man, gets the band rocking due to his excessive vocal drive, luckily for cocaine abuse as well, but Rod never forgot his roots...!!!
I know exactly the first time I heard this song at some cIub with a chute box This song came on and that was the beginnings of Rod Stewart becoming a pop star 🌟🌟🌟
Thank you for uploading this concert,i remember watching it on new years eve 1976 and have not seen it since those far off days.Once again thank you for sharing this .
I'm sorry for you but he had a great taste of music. I love rod, though I'm 18 yrs old. 70s and 80s Music is the best rock n roll. I had the pleasure to see him live May 20 this year, it was amaaaaazing and I can't wait to see him again. ;) GB from Munich ( Germany)
I was at this concert. Fresh from seeing wings and Frampton at wembley empire pool and Freddie with queen free at Hyde park. I was a rookie in London but having a great time!!!
+Latricia Thomas Great choice, you won't be disappointed, the Faces studio material was ALL amazing.. They were on fire when they were laying down those tracks! Enjoy your album, it won't leave the CD player for a LONG time once you put it in, be warned! :P All the best, Davey (Ireland)
I am watching this from Oklahoma USA and love it. Why is it that there is hardly any video available from Rod in his glory years here in the states? I look to purchase a show like this, and there is nothing!! I am a longtime fan of his, especially his period of what I call his rockin years 74-80 and would love some concerts on DVD of those years!! Love to see live songs like 3 time loser, drift away, ball trap, your insane ect. Some of the great album cuts. Anyway thanks to who ever put this on!!
I've always liked the 70's Rod Stewart albums but the reason I'm drawn to this youtube release is that I was in a thrift store today (middle of Canada) and found this bookmark, a ticket for his Blondes Have More Fun tour, 1978, at the Grand Hall in London. Crazy thing to run across, and I checked for more info online
Tonight's The Night This Old Heart Of Mine Sweet Little Rock N' Roller I Don't Want To Talk About It The Killing of Georgie Pts. I & II Maggie May Get Back (I Know) I'm Losing You Sailing
This isn't the full concert, this is just what was shown on TV, I was at the concert which ended up with Rod in his classic 'leopard skin look' kicking footballs into the crowd and spraying champagne around!
For myself, this was the most horrible Rod era ever. I couldn't listen anymore. I loved the Faces and that rough, rowdy, rocker fun concerts and music that came from them. The slide from Ron Wood, the not so tight drums of Kenny Jones, and the great honky Tonkin Piano sounds of Ian. Never has it been the same as those old days when we used to run in a "Rambler" from theater to theater to see the boys. I especially loved travelin to the concert in Ann Arbor Mich in the early '70's when the original Badfinger opened and a Circus performed overhead and around us whilst waiting for Rod and the Faces to come on. Those were the BEST DAZE in many WAYZE.
Ah Fantastic ..+BBC just aired it (10/7/13) -Seems it was a BBC Old Grey Whistle Test Christmas special. -prob why he says "cant believe we're still on the air"? etc. Great year -remember that scorching summer in London well.!! ...Happy days ..yeeeehaaa Where did it all go wrong??? (one word -bankers?)
I seen Rod Stewart in San Diego in 2003 or 2004. Good show, Im not a fan of the crooning half of the show, but he performed a good 2 hours or more, was surprised he didn't play You Wear it Well. His encore song was Do You Think I'm Sexy
HAHAHA 👍❤
I almost got into a fight theresandles r bacless shoes I wore sandles and the exit was very narrow. I turned around and told him to walk on his own feet. He got nasty and Ben had to drag me out of there. I was pissed. What a jerk, all he had to do was apologize! Like I said before, never ever wear sandles or slides to a concert.
All that make up Rod has on is disturbing What were those glam band guys thinking? I remember the rumor about Rod and having to have his stomach pumped I know it was bullshit. Rod has always had a super hot chick beside him. No way he's playing for the other team LOL
+Curtis Moffett The exact same rumour went around about a good few rockstars over the years, including Mick Jagger.. It's just that, a stupid rumour, pay no heed to it.. Them boys have seen more female action than any of us EVER will! No way are they gay! Haha! All the best, Davey (Ireland)
What a strange and curious concert this is! It's no wonder Punk was about to hit like a meteor........look how the camera closes in @21-13, most of this very young crowd appear to be late teens or 20's, swaying around getting off on stuff your parents would listen to - it's very soporific adult, middle of the road dirge like, with a hint of rock 'n roll. It's not really pulling up any trees and @ 21-23, the young man/ woman in the centre of the screen look bored to tears. If it was me, I'd be climbing the walls to get out,...this stuff was typical of all that chart dross in 1975/6. Horrendous!
I remember watching this live on BBC 2 just before Xmas 1976. Only seems like yesterday.
This was one of the best backing bands Rod ever had. That version of I Know I'm Losing You is ruddy epic
I Woz here! Great night to remember, life fan!
I saw them in Birmingham on this tour.
Absolutely fantastic. One of the best concerts I have been to.
Holy Mother of God...I want to go back...This is amazing..THANK YOU...
Remember Rock n Roll? Living in a post-Rock world is driving me crazy. Thankfully we have Rod n Co on youtube, a real shot in the arm.

I've been a big fan the first time I saw him wht the Jeff Beck group at the Fillmore east in 69 in NY.

I was there also, can see my much younger self in the crowd. What a great night!
fantastic band and Rod is the inspirational performer front man, gets the band rocking due to his excessive vocal drive, luckily for cocaine abuse as well, but Rod never forgot his roots...!!!
Delicious Framptonesque groove. Well done, Rod and great backing band! And gorgeous, the reggae moment!

The shit this guy was able to pull off artistically is amazing. Fearless and groundbreaking he certainly is. Go Rod, sing for all of us.

How on earth did he go from THAT to 'Hot Legs'?!!!
Da ya think he's more sexy yet, but the song's was more rock n roll in the 70's !! 💯❤️🤘🖤😝
i see funny to see you
47:35 Carmine Appice✊🥁💥
Top notch. Before Rod went downhill with disco yawn
What is the crowd chanting after "Georgie." Are they saying "boring, boring?"
Konig Corvus I doubt they were saying that, this crowd was on his nuts at this show
Still Georgie, Georgie, amazing crowd
