  • Trek Shorts is proud to present our first TOS era film and our third in universe documentary!
This is the first full outing for Steven Cockings and we want to welcome Marie-Louise Svaleng as the TOS era documentary narrator!
Lieutenant Lee Galloway is being interviewed by Memory Alphas best reporter Dr. Louise Nilson about a somewhat, morally grey event which happened several months earlier.
A new planet has been found, its atmosphere has rare...possibly unique properties and when a landing party's mission goes wrong, the crew of the Enterprise must band together to save their officer...but at what cost?
Thank you to everyone who supported the 2022 Trek Shorts Indiegogo, without your funding we would not have been able to get this far and we hope you will come back and support the 2023 Trek Shorts Indiegogo!
If you enjoyed this film, then please let us know in the comments!

That was a very unique, imaginative and original screenplay. I can't think of a major classic SF story or series episode anything like it...that is rare even in Paramount production today.
No pointless Easter Eggs, no cousin/daughter/sister/descendent/ancestor of a series character...just a new story with a crew science officer.

    - Absolutely love the view inside the bridge dome as the Enterprise passes. It's those little touches that help make the Enterprise feel more like a ship that's lived in and less a prop.
    - Enjoyed the line about noticing the humidity change upon beaming. It's such an off-hand remark, but gives more insights into what beaming might feel like to the human senses.
    - Dominion crossover!
    - Excellent job with the character models of the original actors.

I am amazed at the quality, love and care that you and the crew have given to this documentary! Hats off to your Dad for flawlessly giving a performance that (to me) rang true! It wasn't... uhm, forced or cardboard-ish! And in my Tweet I mentioned the Grand Lady herself, but in this comment, I hafta mention the 'mini-crossover' of my newly found favorite Fan production: Dreadnought Dominion!! Lol! I about dropped my Laptop when I heard Capt. Brousseau and CDR Denson's cameos/voice-overs! It really made that time of (what my group - The Geek Cabal calls) "The 1st Lost Era" really come together and be more cohesive! You guys ROCK! Keep it up and I hope you will have the opportunity to make more of these! 😁 Be safe and healthy! Peace and Long Life! 🖖 😎

The grade with the added grain for more "old school" filmic look is just a choice.
Part of what modern fil makers fight against is the ultra sharp/ultra crisp look of digital recordings.
Digital grain is always added, especially in CGI since the natural perfect look...looks fake because it is.
