Hi Johanns! Thank you so much! I’m glad to hear that! Huge apologies for the late response. I’ve been incredibly busy. I’m really hoping to find time to make more videos soon. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I’m also sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments. I’m about a month behind right now. 😔😅Thank you so much again for the comment. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
I ordered succulents seeds today. You brought me so much information compared to the videos I watched. I'll be watching all your videos so that I will learn. I hope you will give us an update of these babies 💗
Hi Jayce, that is nice to hear. How are your seedlings? I haven’t found time to make another video, plus my computer have been acting up, too. Huge apologies for the late response. 😅 I’m sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments. I’m about two to three months behind right now. 😔😅 Thank you so much for the comment. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫 Happy Holidays!
Thank you for the comment, Barbara! Thank you for checking my channel, too! I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Your videos are the BEST. Like even for people who don't even have succulents, your videos are so well recorded and I love your inspirational quotes. ❤️
So nice of you! Thank you for the comment! My apologies for the late reply. 😅I have just started responding to the rest of the comments again. I’ve been so busy. I think I may have found a way to start making videos again. 🤞So, we’ll see! 😊Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Thank you for the Code, by using the code I ended up only paying 50c for shipping. Ordered 3 sets of seeds, hope I have as great of luck as you! Now the hard part, waiting
Wow! That’s such a steal! I’m so glad to hear that! It’s going to be so much fun watching them sprout and grow. 👏👏👏 Thank you so much for leaving this comment! I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
Hi. I watched this video again and found it so enjoyable (again). After learning from your videos I've got 7 little suc leaves rooted and growing! It's really fun to watch their progress. Maybe one of these days I'll start some suc seeds too! Thank you, Sheila!
Awwwwww...seeing little baby succies is the most adorable thing in this world...just like human babies, puppies, kittens and all baby animals. ☺️😊 They’re all a thing of perfection. Congratulations on your propagation. I’m so happy to hear about your success. Some people are not as lucky. Thank you for watching my videos. I just have to say it. Heaps and tons of blessings to you! ❤️🙏🌈
Oh shoot.....just saw the video....can I still use the code??? I started out growing fruits and veggies but fell in love with cactus and succulents!!! 💝💝💝
Hello David! Some are saying that the code doesn’t work anymore, but there people who would say they are still able to use the code. I’m staring to grown fruits and veggies. 😊 My apologies for the late response. I hope those who are waiting for a response from me will see this message: Just recently, I made a decision to respond to newer comments first. I have been trying to reply to older comments first, hoping to catch up. But I haven’t been successful. So instead of trying to do that (‘cause now, I’m a full year behind) I’ll start responding from newest to oldest. Thank you so much for the inquiry. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
I've just ordered some succulent seeds and have a few questions. How often will I have to water them? When in their growth will I have to reduce the watering? And how many hours of sunlight/grow light a day will they need? Great video! :)
Hi Ray, since you will be keeping them in a very humid environment, you will have to only mist them when their soil is starting to dry. You only have to start spacing out misting when they are about half a centimeter in size. If they are in zip lock bags, you don’t have to mist everyday. They can’t be exposed to direct sunlight. I leave them under grow lights until there’s day light. During the day, I place them near a wide glass door, but again, indirect sunlight. I hope this helps. Thank you for asking. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
@@SucculentFame Thank you this is very helpful! :) Just to clarify do they need to be in some kind of indirect light for 24 hours a day? Or only 12 hours?
It is better that they have some form of light for 24 hours. At least based on my observation, they grew faster when I did it this way. So, during the day, I try to stick with natural indirect light and grow lights at night. It might work without 24 hours of light, too, ‘cause at first I didn’t put them under grow lights. And they still sprouted, but when I did my research, I learned that in some parts of Africa(not sure if it’s all parts), there would be seasons when the sun wouldn’t go down so it doesn’t get completely dark. That’s how I decided to use grow lights. I got faster results with it, that’s why I shared it. 😁
@@SucculentFame Thanks so much for answering my questions, crossing my fingers that I manage to properly grow my succulent seeds now! Love your channel it's so positive and informative, subbed! :)
Hello Everyone, I had to reupload it. The end screen was not working. 😅 I hope you guys will love this video. Please remember to give it a thumbs up and share it on FB, too. 😁 Thank you! ❤️☺️🌈 By the way, it is a good idea to microwave the soil to sterilize it. Be sure to wait for it to cool down before sowing the seeds, okay? ☝️👍😊
That’s nice to hear! How are your seedlings? They’re probably big by now. 😊 Huge apologies for the late response. 😅 I’ve been so busy. I’m sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments and inquiries. I can’t believe I’m 1 year behind now. 😔😅 Thank you so much for the comment. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Hello Sheila just stumbled across your channel and I love it. You have amazing plants and your home is very beautiful, I enjoy watching your videos you explain everythingand show exactly what we all need as far as seeding and how to care for are succulents I'm new to this and I'm so happy to find you by the way I live in Downey California so we're almost neighbors.I think now I'm going to relax and watch as many of your videos as I can I started collecting succulents almost a year ago I have few not many but those that I have I really enjoy and I am starting to make more so thank you again.
Hi, Rebecca! I’m so glad that I’m able to help in my own little way. Yes, we’re “almost” neighbors. I think Downey is about 5 hours away from Brentwood, but we do live within the same side of the state. It’s nice to hear that you have started building your succulent collection, too. It’s such a fun hobby! 😊 Thank you so much for leaving a message. I really appreciate it. Sending more blessings your way! ❤️🙏🌈
Hi I’m from India . I ordered the seeds from UnusualSeeds and got a whopping discount of 30% on my buy. Thanks a lot .Waiting for my seeds to be delivered . And I’m little nervous also . I don’t have grow lights so I was suggested to keep thm in indirect sunlight . Wish me luck!!! I wanted to know should I open the ziplock for sometime in a day or it should be closed till it germinate and how often should I water the seeds ??
Hello Bhavana, I’m so sorry that I responded so late. I’m so glad you got the discount. How are they now? You can keep the zip lock closed to keep it moist. Just check the soil from time to time to make sure that it is kept moist. There is no set interval for misting. Again, huge apologies for the late response. 😔 I’ve been incredibly busy. I’m really hoping to find time to make more videos soon. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. 😅Thank you so much for leaving an inquiry. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Succulent Fame hi I had a doubt u said we should cover the substrate with fine sand and few of them say don’t cover the substrate after sowing the seeds As the seeds are very tiny
Hi Bhavana, mine sprouted with and without the fine sand. In the video, I showed both and both sprouted. I tried both ways because I have gathered the same info, too.
I’m super excited to see my adenium growing. It is still very tiny right now. She is just one inch high. 😊 I’m actually scared that frost might kill her. I hope she’ll pull through. Winter has just started. I heard that they are more of a tropical plant. So, I’m keeping my fingers crossed. 🤞Maybe I should cover her with something, like a sheer cloth. I have been so busy that I haven’t found the time to check on her lately. I hope she’s still okay. Thank you for the nice comment. I really appreciate it. Wishing you tons of blessings again in the coming year! ❤️🙏💫
Succulent Fame likewise ive been pretty excited watching the adeniums I grew from seeds having tiny growth differences each day..From what ive read, keeping them indoors and bringing it when there is sunlight helps. If you have too many plants however, covering them with sheets of plastic seems to keep the cold winds away..Water very sparingly in winter with no fertilizing and ive also read that pruning the branches are helpful.Mind you, these are not my own experiences but what ive read online after getting your message..Hope your plants grow really well and btw, your pink/white adenium is just so majestic, both its caudex and the pretty flowers as well
Hi , thank you for this informative video, I want to ask - when you have gone through the steps and eventually place them in the ziplock bag and seal - and place them under growlight - do you open the bag during the next few days before any seeds have sprouted, to spray / water the soil ? . Thanking you
Hello Peter, only if the soil looks like it needs moisture. If it looks damp, please keep it sealed. Thank you! I hope those who are waiting for a response from me will read this response. Today, I made a decision to respond to newer comments. I have been trying to respond to older comments first, hoping to catch up. So instead of trying to do that (‘cause now, I’m a full year behind) I’ll start responding from newest to oldest. Thank you for asking a question. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
This was really helpful! I even bought some seeds from the website you suggested. This is my first time growing succulents from seeds. How much coconut coir do you suggest using? 4 parts cactus soil and 3 parts perlite. How many parts perlite?
If you already have a commercial cactus soil mix, it should be enough. It offers good drainage and has enough perlites. If you want to use coco coir, I would say 50/30/20 for coco coir/cactus soil mix / perlites. Just remember to cover it with fine sand after sowing the seeds. Thank you for asking your question. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
They're so adorable, right? They're like puppies and kittens and babies. Thank you so much for the comment. I really appreciate it. Huge apologies for the very late response. Wishing you love, blessings, health and happiness! ❤️🙏💫
Hello Sheena, I hope I’ll find time soon. Thank you for the request. My apologies for the late response. I’ve been so busy. 😅 Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Honestly, they’re likely to be dead. 😅 I’ll see them in June. I’m in Indiana right now. As far as I know, it rained in California a lot while we’re here in Indiana. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed. 🤞🤞🤞😊
Thank you! In fact, I think they can pretty much live forever ‘cause they just keep expanding in a vertical and horizontal way. 😊 With proper care, they pretty much can live forever.
Hi, Marietta! Until they are big enough, they need to be kept in a moist environment. I suggest that you keep misting if the soil is drying. Thank you so much for the inquiry. I really appreciate it. Huge apologies for the very late response. I hope you went to their website to get some info. I wish I was able to respond promptly. I hope your seedlings are doing okay. My apologies again. Wishing you love, blessings, health and happiness! ❤️🙏💫
I love desert roses! It’s nice to hear that you are just easily harvesting your seeds! Mine didn’t survive the harsh winter. I transferred her way too early. I got so busy that I couldn’t water her, so I transferred her where there’s watering system, but we had frost this year. I tried to cover her, but it was too late. 😢 Thank you for the comment! I really appreciate it! More blessings to you! Stay happy and healthy! ❤️🙏💫
Hello Sheila, I have been a bit successful in growing my succulents by leaf propagation. I mist them once in two days. Next week I will be traveling so pl give me an idea how to keep these succulent hydrated. Loved this video too
Hi Bhargavi, how long will you be away? And how big are they now? What’s your current temperature out there? My apologies for all the questions. These are factors that would affect it.
I will be away for a week exactly. Some are having roots and some are half a centimeter in size. The temperature in Kolkata is 32 degrees Celsius and minimum is 22. All my succulents are in the balcony which is in the west side of my second floor flat. Thanks for all the understanding.
Hi Bhargavi, I think your best option is to take them inside your house. It’s cooler inside, right? I’m afraid that even misting them real well before leaving and covering them will not work. The temperature is too high. I guess, just hope for the best. 🤞😅 Since it’s too hot, the roots might dry up without misting a week. I heard that it is quite humid out there though. So MAYBE humidity might help. My apologies that I’m not able to suggest a better option that misting. There are automated misting devices, but I think that’s way too much hassle for you. Thank you for asking your question. ❤️
You’re welcome, Bhargavi! I really hope they’ll all be okay when you get back. 🤞🙏 Your best bet is not to leave them outside or whichever is cooler, especially during the day.
That’s awesome! 👏👏👏Thank you for the comment. My apologies for the late reply. 😅I have just started responding to all of comments again. I’ve been so busy. I think I found a way to start making videos again. 🤞So, we’ll see! 😊Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
I noticed in the video you had little mushrooms growing in there with the babies, from the humidity I'm imagining. Are they a threat to the succbabies? I love mushrooms as well, so they would be a bonus grow, and help with fertilization I'm sure. Should we pluck them out if we see them growing?
I actually wanted to pluck them out and then had second thoughts when I realized that they are still living beings after all. So I just let them be and let nature take its course. They would dry up and shrivel after about a day or two anyway, so they didn’t really do damage to the babies, so I didn’t kill them. 😊 I couldn’t do it. 😅Whether the soil have been microwaved or not, they would still sprout because of the humid environment, but sellers would always suggest microwaving the soil. Thank you for asking your questions. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
Hi there! That is so nice to hear! I think you are learning English well. It’s good that you left a comment. Practice makes perfect, so communicating with people all the time is the best way! Thank you so much! Feel free to leave as many comments as you like. It is a privilege for me to know that you practiced your English on my channel. 😃 Thank you so much again! I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
Hi! I still would suggest grow lights. I’m not sure if they will sprout nor survive without any good source of UV light. Huge apologies for the late response. I’ve been incredibly busy. I’m really hoping to find time to make more videos soon. I’m looking to buy a new laptop ‘cause I’m not able to use my current one for editing. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I’m also sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments. I’m about a month or so behind right now. 😔😅Thank you so much for leaving a message. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Hi, Louise! Thank you so much for the comment. I really appreciate it. Huge apologies for responding too late. Wishing you all the best! Stay healthy! ❤️🙏💫
Waiting for my first pack just made my medium and placed it in a 8by10 inch baking tray going try to start 200 in it out of the 800 mix pack i ordered.
You’re welcome and thank you! Huge apologies for the late response. 😅 I’ve been so busy. I’m sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments and inquiries. I can’t believe I’m over 1 year behind now. 😔😅 Thank you so much for the kind comment. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Hi! I’m so glad you do. It’s one of my most favorite, too! 😊 Huge apologies for the late response. 😅 I’m sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments. I’m about two to three months behind right now. 😔😅 Thank you so much for the comment. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Hi Rina, they do ship international. You can also confirm with them if they ship can ship out to your country. Feel free to reach out to them. They’ve got great customer service. Thank you so much for your comment. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
They have to be stable, so I’d let them grow up to 9 months to 1 year. The older they are, the more viable they get, so older is better. Thank you for asking this question. I really appreciate it. Blessings to you! ❤️☺️🌈
Hi Louis! Thank you so much! I’m so glad you got the discount! Huge apologies for the late response. I’ve been incredibly busy. I’m really hoping to find time to make more videos soon. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I’m also sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments. I’m about a month behind right now. 😔😅Thank you so much again. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
If I remember it right, I showed some updates in March towards the end of the video. I haven’t found the time to do another update video. I’ve been busy working on too many projects.Thank you for asking. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
Hi Ruby, she’s right! They have different rates of germination. Some are early birds. The very first ones to sprout are the Lithops and Split Rocks. When I checked on Day 9, there was one early bird for the Lithops and about 9 for the Split Rocks. 😁 Thank you for asking this question. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
Hi Bhavana! Here’s the link to the grow light that I used. amzn.to/30AnjDH Huge apologies for the late response. 😅 I’m sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments. I’m about two to three months behind right now. 😔😅 Thank you so much for the inquiry. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫 Happy Holidays!
If you see that there is still moisture in the bag, you don’t have to mist them. So always make sure that you see droplets of water along the inside of the bag. Opposite to grown succulents, babies needs to be in a moist environment all the time. Thank you for asking this questions. I really appreciate it. Blessings to you! ❤️🙏🌈
My soil is some nursery bought cactus mix but as that didn’t seem well drained I added some sand, so it is soil and sand mixed. Is that fine to grow my succulents?
Hi Maria, that should be a good mix. I suggest adding more regular potting soil, too since I found that soil that’s too fast draining actually makes watering harder. Since water does not stay in the soil, the succulent is not getting enough water when it’s watering time. Huge apologies for the late response. 😅 I’ve been so busy. I’m sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments and inquiries. I can’t believe I’m 1 year behind now. 😔😅 Thank you so much for the inquiry. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
I haven’t tried that method yet, Dona! I probably should. I’m definitely not an expert, but I share what works for me. I’ll keep that it mind. I think I should write it down. I’m forgetful. 😅 Thank you so much for the comment and for subscribing! Wishing you the greatest of health, the biggest of blessings and the purest of love! ❤️💰🏆
Hi!! I recently planted some succulent seeds. How long do I need to keep them under grow lights, like how many hours per day? And how often should i water them? Thank youuu! 🤗
Hello Camzi, I suggest mimicking the length of daylight that you get in a day where you are at. So if the sun rises around 6am and sets around 6pm, I suggest keeping the grow light on that long. You can also lessen the amount of time by an hour or two if they are by a window. Just make sure that they are not under direct sunlight while they are small. As for watering, please make sure that the soil is moist while they are still germinating. Thank you so much for the comment! Huge apologies for the late response. Wishing you the greatest of health, the biggest of blessings and the purest of love! ❤️💰🏆
After planting the little babies in moist soil and leaving in a bag, how moist should the seeds be kept and for how long? I know adults like to dry out between waterings, but are the babies different? Thanks 🌱💜
Hi Michelle, yes, ironically, the babies need to be kept in a humid environment, ‘cause their leaves are too small (at first, leaves are not even there)😃 to store water. Once you see that the soil is starting to dry out, you need to mist it. If you’ve done a great job with making sure that your germinating medium is super wet before sowing the seeds, it will take about three weeks before it starts drying out since they are in zip lock bags. Be on the look out though. ‘Cause we all live in different temperatures. When I sowed mine, it was still winter (February). Thank you for asking this question. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
Hi! I think you do. If it gets dry in the bag, do mist them. They need a humid environment. Thank you for asking this question. I really appreciate it. More blessings to you! ❤️🙏🌈
Hi Sheila, I'm a big fan and have learned alot from your videos. Is there any other seed place you recommend? I am not able to use PayPal and it seems like this is the only payment option on the unusual seeds website. Great videos!
Hi, Sam! So far, they are the only source that I trust for seeds. I’ve other sources on Amazon, but I’ve heard so many stories about how some seeds are fake that I rarely recommend unless I’m totally sure. My apologies that I can’t provide other options for now. I’ll be on the look out and will share it in case I’ll find another. Thank you for asking your question. I really appreciate it. More blessings to you! ❤️🙏🌈
hi. i love your video. i would like to ask if how can i save my lithops seedlings because their roots are not buried in my soilmix they keep on growing. should i use toothpick to burry the roots? thank you so much. hope you notice me:(
Hello Joel, have you been misting them? If you would mist them, they won’t find the need to grow roots in the soil. If they are not able to get moisture in the air, they would want to get moisture and food from the soil. You can try to bury some of the roots. I think it could work. Are they doing good? Thank you so much for the comment! Huge apologies for the late response. 🙏 Wishing you the greatest of health, the biggest of blessings and the purest of love! ❤️💰🏆
I think you can. Just make sure that it’s filtered light. I would use the grow lights at night and I would line them up by a wide window during the day. Just remember that they’ll burn under direct sunlight. Thickly filtered light would be a better term. 😃 Thank you so much for asking. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
Hello! Yes, you sure can. I suggest that you pluck the leaves about 8 days after full watering. Leaves are easier to pluck when they are all plumped up. Don’t mist until you see sprouts and please make sure that they are not under direct sunlight. Thank you for asking this question. I really appreciate it. ❤️😃🌈
Not all hardy succulents propagate through leaf. I highly suggest that you give it a try. Most aeoniums do. Thank you so much! I really appreciate the question! My apologies for the late response! ❤️☺️🌈
Thank you for the comment. My apologies for the late reply. 😅I have just started responding to all of comments again. I’ve been so busy. I think I found a way to start making videos again. 🤞So, we’ll see! 😊Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
its a great video, i try to germinate succulent and it works but i have question, after the seed become baby succulent what should i do next? and how often i need to watering the succulent
Great job with germination! 👍Once you have baby succulents, keep misting until their leaves are big enough to store their own water supply. You don’t have to transplant them into a bigger container just yet. The bigger they are, the more they’re likely to withstand the stresses of transplanting. Thank you for asking. I really appreciate it. ❤️🙏🌈
Hi Dori, thank you! I just saw that I haven't replied to your message. I thought I did. How did it go? Thank you for leaving a message. I really appreciate it. Happy Planting! ❤😀🌈
I still haven'y received my order, but once I learned they are coming from an International source I understand the time. They told me it could take as long as 8 weeks. Thanks for your response.
My apologies that I didn’t pronounce it well. I’m not a native speaker. It’s ‘fine’ sand. I’m so sorry that you were not able to figure out that I meant ‘fine’. I sure hope that this is not a racist comment. Mispronunciation is not something that non-native speakers would do on purpose. We do try to speak clearly, but we are not perfect. 😔 Thank you for the comment. My apologies for the late reply. I have just started responding to all of comments again. I’ve been so busy. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health!
hi, im new to succulents. i just encounter them this January. im trying to propagate succulent in a tropical climate and i have 1 window that pass thru direct sunlight where the leaves sits. what do i do? is this really bad? plss.. let me know i would love new info's about this plants.. so cute
Hello Genesis, welcome to the fun worlds of succulents. If the leaves are showing signs of burning, it is best to put some kind of sun filter like a sheer curtain. Not all succulents are prone to sunburn. It also depends on the season and temperature. If it is too hot, morning exposure can still burn them. It is best to observe them and adjust accordingly. Thank you so much for asking this question. I really appreciate it! ❤️☺️🌈
Hello Kiara, you can use cactus soil mix, but you might have to add some ordinary garden soil, 'cause ironically, the seeds and seedlings need humidity until they are bigger. I customized mine 'cause I might not be able to stay on top of my spraying routine and keeping it moist. Thank you so much for leaving an inquiry. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Hi! It’s been awhile. I can barely remember, but I think it took about a month. I hope I remember it right. Hi! Huge apologies for the late response. I’ve been incredibly busy. I’m really hoping to find time to make more videos soon. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. 😅Thank you so much for the inquiry. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Yes, you sure can! I’ve propagated topsy turvies through leaves so many times. They are one of the easier succulents to propagate...such an awesome succulent! Thank you for asking your question. I really appreciate it! ❤️😃🌈
Hello Ravi, so many things affect their growth so there isn’t any one answer to your question. Some of the factors are watering, sun exposure, nutrients in soil, climate and temperature and other things like presence of pests, too. My apologies that I’m not able to give an exact number, but I’d say about 6 months to a year. Thank you for the comment! My apologies for the late reply. 😅I have just started responding to the rest of the comments again. I’ve been so busy. I think I may have found a way to start making videos again. 🤞So, we’ll see! 😊Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Hi Mel, it may take up to two months, depending on the season. 🙏❤️💫
What is the highest temperature that succulent seeds can tolerate? Since I live in the tropics, the temperature here can reach the hundreds F. Thanks in advance!
Hi Icely, I think they can tolerate up to upper 80’s or maybe low 90’s as long as they are indoors, but this is just my estimate. I would still say give it a try. These plants do have a way to adjust. Thank you for asking your question. I really appreciate it. Blessings to you! ❤️☺️🌈
Hi! It’s the Conophytum lithopsoides ‘Kennedyi’. My apologies for the late response! I have been so incredibly busy! I really appreciate your patience! Thank you so much again! ❤️☺️🌈
Hi Carla! How are your seedlings now? It is best to wait for them to have more leaves that can store water for their own sustenance. The dome is to ensure that they are kept moist while they are not able to store their own water. Huge apologies for the late response. I’ve been incredibly busy. I’m really hoping to find time to make more videos soon. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I’m looking to buy a new laptop ‘cause I’m not able to use my current one for editing. 😅 I’m also sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments. I’m about a month behind right now. 😔😅 Thank you so much for the inquiry. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Hi Abbey, as far as I remember, I just sifted it out from what I have in my backyard. This is a brand new home, so my backyard had some sand from the construction. You can just buy sand in small container at Lowe's or Home Depot. They even have some in Hobby Lobby or Michael's. Thank you so much for the inquiry. I really appreciate it. Huge apologies for the very late response. Wishing you love, blessings, health and happiness! ❤️🙏💫
Hi, Loralin! I had to keep them indoors for about 4 months (as far as I remember, at least). Topping them with sand protects the seeds. I think it also keeps the moisture in the soil (this is just my speculation, 'cause the vendor's instruction is very specific about putting sand on top of the seed). When germinating, the soil needs to stay moist. That’s nice to hear! Thank you so much for the comment. I really appreciate it. Huge apologies for responding too late. Wishing you love, blessings, health and happiness! ❤️🙏💫
I use just the regular sand that one can find in construction sites. I think they are regular beach sand. I got lucky I guess‘cause I have some in my backyard, too ‘cause my house is a new construction. Thank you for the comment. My apologies for the late reply. 😅I have just started responding to all of comments again. I’ve been so busy. I think I found a way to start making videos again. 🤞So, we’ll see! 😊Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Hi Sharmin, I think you can grow succulents there. I suggest that you grow them in movable containers first so that you can move them around as needed. Thank you for leaving a question! My apologies for the very late response. 😅I have been so busy. I really appreciate it! Wishing you more blessings! ❤🙏🌠
You can. I am from Canada as well...but in much warmer BC :P But even in BC succulents, except some, such as hens and chicks, need to come inside for winter. Even if it's not really cold out, most can only handle so much rain before they get damaged.
Hi, I had a small packet I had imported from China. It simply put them in a disposable plastic cup of only water. It's 2 weeks now, and little sprouts with tails are floating in the cup. When should I transfer them to soil, and what kind of soil, with procedure please
I haven’t tried sprouting seeds in water. If they sprouted in soil, I would tell you to transfer it when they already have leaves that are big enough though. Thank you for the comment. My apologies for the late reply. 😅I have just started responding to all of comments again. I’ve been so busy. I think I found a way to start making videos again. 🤞So, we’ll see! 😊Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Hi, Stephanie! I'm afraid I don't. I have been so busy. Thank you so much for the comment. I really appreciate it. Huge apologies for the very late response. Wishing you love, blessings, health and happiness! ❤️🙏💫
Hello Gretch, my apologies. I’m not too familiar with places to buy succulents from in Canada. I do know that you guys have Amazon there. They have online sellers of succulents there. Huge apologies for the late response. 😅 I’ve been so busy. I’m sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments and inquiries. I can’t believe I’m 1 year behind now. 😔😅 Thank you so much for the inquiry and for your patience. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
Hello Danielle, I haven’t found the time to make any videos at all. 😅 Thank you for the comment. My apologies for the late reply. 😅I have just started responding to all of comments again. Oooops! 😅 i guess, maybe next time? Thank you for leaving your message. I really appreciate it. My apologies for the very late response. I was on vacation. ❤️☺️🌈 Blessings to you!
Don’t feel too bad. I placed a huge order and didn’t see this video till 3 days later. And this video was in my watch later playlist when I placed the order 😖 oh well. Next time I guess. Still super excited to get my seeds 🥳
Hi , I just wanted to know what is the difference of rare succulents to semi-rare and common, Is it just from the population??? I don't know , I'm just curious Thanks.
Hi there, good question. 😀 Succulents that could be so common in one place can be rare in another. I guess, more often than not, what’s rare and what’s not, could really depend on one’s location in the world. 🤓 Most of the succulents in the website that I was referring to, can be quite rare here in the US, but some are super common, like the rosette succulents. I hope this helps a bit. 😅 Thank you for asking your question. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
Oh my god... are you psychic? Because I literally have a cart full of succulent seeds sitting in my cart on Etsy and have been researching how to grow them, from that same seller... I’m shook
Wow! They actually have a new website! They have such great ratings on Etsy, that’s why they decided to create their website now! I’m so glad that you’ll be able to use our discount code! 😃 I’m so thankful to hear that. Thank you for leaving this comment. I’m really grateful! ❤️☺️🌈
@@SucculentFame Will the code expire? I bought seeds from them last March 4 and I am expecting it to arrive after 30 days. I am planning to buy again after I got my package :)
I think they said it will not expire but, you can only apply it one time, unless they changed their mind. What I can suggest is to try using the code again. Thanks so much for asking this question. I really appreciate it. ❤️😃🌈
Most certainly, Christmond. Pumice and perlites are both porous and both helps with air circulation and drainage. Thank you again for asking your questions. I appreciate them. ❤️☺️🌈
@@SucculentFame thank you!...since i saw your video about succulent i kinda interest me!...now i got my first succulent which is jade plant!..maraming salamat!!
Hi Asuncion, I’m totally not sure. Try starting an order. It will tell you if they don’t ship there. You may also try contacting them through their website for more information. Thank you for the inquiry. I really appreciate it. Wishing you love, health and blessings always! ❤️🙏💫
Hi! I think so. Especially if you live in a warmer weather and climate. Watering is just a bit tricky. Huge apologies for the late response. I’ve been incredibly busy. I’m really hoping to find time to make more videos soon. I’m looking to buy a new laptop ‘cause I’m not able to use my current one for editing. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Ideal temperature for them is around the 70’s in Fahrenheit. Since seed germination is ideally not done outside, the weather is not a big factor at all. Conditions are highly controllable. If your thermostat is constantly on and indoor temperatures are stable, it can still even work in the winter months. I sowed the seeds in the winter since in my house, lowest temperature is 69 degrees. If your temperature drops below the sixties, I suggest that you do this within the warmer months. Thank you so much for asking this question, Shweta! I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
Hi Gabriella, it’s called Glottiphyllum or “Tongue Plant”. Huge apologies for the late response. 😅 I’ve been so busy. I’m sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments and inquiries. Hello Heidi, I’m afraid I’m not able to provide any info regarding sources of seeds in Aussie. I’m not too sure why they don’t show the yellow stripes, too. It’s been puzzling me, too. I wish I know the answer to that. As for the duration of each stages, I’d say months and months. 😅 It takes a lot of patience and faith, but it pays off. It’s been awhile, so I’m not sure about the season, but I would propagate regardless of the season. At least, out here in California. My apologies for the late response. I hope those who are waiting for a response from me will read this, too. Just recently, I made a decision to respond to newer comments. I have been trying to respond to older comments first, hoping to catch up. But I haven’t been successful. So instead of trying to do that (‘cause now, I’m a full year behind) I’ll start responding from newest to oldest. Thank you so much for the comment. I really appreciate it. The seeds become tiny little leaves they need to stay barely moist and cool or they rot or dry up! I use a clear container and just lay the lid on top until it forms a leaf before planting Because in the beginning they are very very delicate.
It takes about one to two weeks depending on the season, temperature, moisture and/or humidity and maturity of the seeds. Thank you so much for asking this question. I really appreciate it! ❤️☺️🌈
pokestep Hi! I think so. Try tapping on the link. They ship worldwide. Please tell me if you won’t be able to access it. Thank you for checking. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
Hi Charles, some say they are because they have the ability to store more water than other plants that are not considered succulents. They store water in their trunk or stem though instead of in the leaves which is quite a bit different from most succulents. I’m not an expert in Botany, but I think what they are saying is true. I just can’t claim that it’s a fact, until I have a solid reference, like a book maybe. 😅 Thank you for asking your question. I really appreciate it. More blessings to you in the coming year! ❤️🙏💫
Succulent Fame Youre welcome and thanks for your wonderful reply filled with positivity.Happy New Year to you and hope you and your beautiful plants stay blessed always

OMG! That’s awful! That’s why I’m scared to just try random sellers. The seller that I endorsed here a really trustworthy people. I wish people won’t scam other people. It’s so heartbreaking. Thank you for sharing your story. I really appreciate it. Wishing you more blessings. ❤️🙏🌈
I’d say up to about 4 to 5 months. If you have high humidity in your area, or if you can mist them every other day to every 3 days, 3 months should be good enough. Thank you for asking this question. I really appreciate it. Blessings to you! ❤️☺️🌈
Hello.. Thanks for video.. Very useful. I have a question. After the seeds germinate how do I water them and do they require sunlight? And when can I repot them? Thank you.
Hi Kareila, you can mist mist them from time to time until they are big enough to store water. They can’t be exposed to sunlight while they are really small. Huge apologies for the late response. 😅 I’ve been so busy. I’m sloooooowly trying to catch up on responding to comments and inquiries. I wish I had seen this video before ordering so many so-called rare exotic succulent and cactus seeds online. I have probably wasted my money, but I hope I am wrong.
I really hope so, too. That was one of my worries before. I’ve heard of people receiving some weird plants that are not even succulents. I guess, all we can do for now is 🤞 I guess, try not to worry for now. Thank you for sharing your little story. I’m hoping for the best for you. ❤️🙏🌈
So how did it turn out? I ordered succulent seeds from China on Ebay and they were grass seeds! Then I read the reviews and other people received grass seeds too. It was only a few dollars but never again!
It’s scary and heartbreaking how some people could have the guts to commit these acts. Sometimes, I wonder how and where they get their reasoning...like, what justifies them to do such things. 😔😢
Haha the part where the baby succulent cartoon emerged from the egg was too cute! I love that. Have a happy week! Thank you for the videos! ❤️🌵🌱🌿❤️
😊 I was so happy to have thought of it, too. It turned out to be super cute. Thanks again so much again! 😊

I ordered succulents seeds today. You brought me so much information compared to the videos I watched.
I'll be watching all your videos so that I will learn. I hope you will give us an update of these babies 💗

how can I order...I'm from phillipines...
Awesome looking succulents! I’m ordering them and your tutorial helped! Thanks and looking forward to regular updates🌸from California
You’re welcome and thank you so much! I really appreciate your questions and your kind words! ❤️☺️🌈 Happy Planting!
Hi Erica, 5 minutes is enough to sterilize the soil. Thank you for asking this question. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
You’re welcome! Thanks again! ❤️😃
Do you ship in the philipines?
Wow very inspiring I'll try your method too I'm just started sowing succulent seed buying online
That’s nice to hear! How are your seedlings? They’re probably big by now. 😊 Huge apologies for the late response. 😅 I’ve been so busy.
Succulent Fame i sowed them yesterday only . Hopefully I will succeed
I didn’t get to try it on all seeds though. I only tried it on some.
nice video Sheila..my adeniums are my pride & joy.rain always drops the bloomed flowers though
I love the last message from Sheila at this site.
Thank you so much! You are so sweet! ❤️😃
Wow the small succulents are soo cute .
They're so adorable, right? They're like puppies and kittens and babies. Thank you so much for the comment. I really appreciate it. Huge apologies for the very late response. Wishing you love, blessings, health and happiness! ❤️🙏💫
OMG these succulents are sooooooooooo pretty
voltaire balagtas Thank you! I really appreciate your comment. ❤️☺️🌈
Can you please do an updated video so we can see how these seed started babies look now?? Love your videos! Thank you!!
Hello Sheena, I hope I’ll find time soon. Thank you for the request. My apologies for the late response. I’ve been so busy. 😅 Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫
@SucculentFame I'd love to see how they're doing now 😊
Honestly, they’re likely to be dead. 😅 I’ll see them in June. I’m in Indiana right now. As far as I know, it rained in California a lot while we’re here in Indiana. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed. 🤞🤞🤞😊
@@SucculentFame Oh no! I read somewhere that they can live up to 40-50 years. Fingers crossed 🤞
Thank you! In fact, I think they can pretty much live forever ‘cause they just keep expanding in a vertical and horizontal way. 😊 With proper care, they pretty much can live forever.
After sowing the seeds, I covered it with cling wrap. When I see sprouts, will this be the time I uncover it & water again? Thank you.
I have a nice ziplock full of dessert rose seeds off my oldest biggest plant! I'm definitely sowing some seeds this week
Ok
Thanks a lot Sheila
You’re welcome, Bhargavi! I really hope they’ll all be okay when you get back. 🤞🙏 Your best bet is not to leave them outside or whichever is cooler, especially during the day.
I just got 200 random succulent seeds so here we go!!
you could just microwave your soil and sterilize before sowing seeds, that way you'll eliminiate all larvae and weird stuff
Than you sheila alway helpful to me~ i'm from korea so i'm studying English this site and how to growing secculents.

Hi Shiela! What if i dont have grow light? Is there any alternative? Thank you and God bless!😃🌵
Hi! I still would suggest grow lights. I’m not sure if they will sprout nor survive without any good source of UV light. Huge apologies for the late response. I’ve been incredibly busy. I miss your blog, i wonder if they can ship seeds in our country, they are all cute succulents! Thank you for sharing!
Hi Rina, they do ship international. You can also confirm with them if they ship can ship out to your country. Feel free to reach out to them. They’ve got great customer service. Thank you so much for your comment. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
At about what time would you move the seedlings to a new pot and what would that look like?
They have to be stable, so I’d let them grow up to 9 months to 1 year. The older they are, the more viable they get, so older is better. Thank you for asking this question. I really appreciate it. Blessings to you! ❤️☺️🌈
Thank you for another useful video. Also, thanks for the code, just used it! :)

Hello Sheila, do you have an update on your seeds from Feb 2019?
If I remember it right, I showed some updates in March towards the end of the video. I haven’t found the time to do another update video. I’ve been busy working on too many projects.Thank you for asking. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
Nice video! How long before the seeds germinated again? I’m not sure if I missed it on the video. Ty
The date she put them on days Feb 11 and today is Mar 16, plus she said some sprouted 2 weeks ahead of the rest, so around 2-4 weeks I assume
You Have the Succulent Touch! Xoxo
Hahaha Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment. ❤️☺️🌈
What kinda grow lights did u use to grow these babies?
How often do you need to water/wet the soil or do you not water at all after you put them in the ziploc bag?
If you see that there is still moisture in the bag, you don’t have to mist them. So always make sure that you see droplets of water along the inside of the bag. Opposite to grown succulents, babies needs to be in a moist environment all the time. Thank you for asking this questions. I really appreciate it. Blessings to you! ❤️🙏🌈
@@SucculentFame Thanks!
Great video I came across it by accident but I'm very grateful I did I subscribed
I live in tropical climate temperatures here are never less that 30 Celsius
Do I need to mist inside the cover after they sprout

Great info . Ty
Thank you, Glovana! Growing succulents from seeds is so much fun and rewarding! 😊 Thank you so much for this comment! I really appreciate it! ❤️☺️🌈
Hi can I use a green house and natural sun light for the seeds instead of using grow lights and still using your method to grow the seeds ?
I think you can. Just make sure that it’s filtered light. I would use the grow lights at night and I would line them up by a wide window during the day. Just remember that they’ll burn under direct sunlight. Thickly filtered light would be a better term. 😃 Thank you so much for asking. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
I have a question can you propagate black prince succulent?
@@SucculentFame thank you very much it really helps!!

its a great video, i try to germinate succulent and it works but i have question, after the seed become baby succulent what should i do next? and how often i need to watering the succulent

My apologies that I didn’t pronounce it well. I’m not a native speaker. It’s ‘fine’ sand. I’m so sorry that you were not able to figure out that I meant ‘fine’. I sure hope that this is not a racist comment. Mispronunciation is not something that non-native speakers would do on purpose. hi, im new to succulents. i just encounter them this January. im trying to propagate succulent in a tropical climate and i have 1 window that pass thru direct sunlight where the leaves sits. what do i do? is this really bad? plss.. let me know i would love new info's about this plants..
I will certainly check out your links!
Thank you! It was so much fun sowing and watching those seedlings grow. Thanks again for the comment. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈
Could i use cactus soil to start seeds or do i have to mix my own? Please help!

How long does it take to reach its full size?
Hello Ravi, so many things affect their growth so there isn’t any one answer to your question.

is there a specific type of sand and perlite to use? and where is the best place to find fine sand?
Hi Abbey, as far as I remember, I just sifted it out from what I have in my backyard. This is a brand new home, so my backyard had some sand from the construction. You can just buy sand in small container at Lowe's or Home Depot. They even have some in Hobby Lobby or Michael's. Thank you so much for the inquiry. I really appreciate it. Huge apologies for the very late response. Wishing you love, blessings, health and happiness! ❤️🙏💫
Can you tell me how long it took indoors and why is it important to top with sand? Thanks.
What kind of sand did you say you use?
I use just the regular sand that one can find in construction sites. I think they are regular beach sand.

Hi , I just wanted to know what is the difference of rare succulents to semi-rare and common,
Is it just from the population???
I don't know , I'm just curious
Thanks.

What is ideal wether for seeds germination??
Ideal temperature for them is around the 70’s in Fahrenheit. Since seed germination is ideally not done outside, the weather is not a big factor at all. Conditions are highly controllable. If your thermostat is constantly on and indoor temperatures are stable, it can still even work in the winter months. I sowed the seeds in the winter since in my house, lowest temperature is 69 degrees. If your temperature drops below the sixties, I suggest that you do this within the warmer months. Thank you so much for asking this question, Shweta! I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈

are adeniums in the succulent family?
Hi Charles, some say they are because they have the ability to store more water than other plants that are not considered succulents. They store water in their trunk or stem though instead of in the leaves which is quite a bit different from most succulents. I’m not an expert in Botany, but I think what they are saying is true.
