I am a new subscriber. My grandmother passed away last July, she was obsessed with succulents. My grandfather gave me a few of hers I potted them and knew nothing about them They started to grow long and dry up I cleaned them up and plucked the leaves. I came across your channel in hopes to learn to propagate and create more then 4 I have of hers. Thank you for being so informative I am looking forward to more content you have given me confidence I can grow more!! And have them all over and think of her EVERYTIME I see them through out the house and yard. I am in Elk Grove ca!
My grandma also recently died and was obsessed with plants and flowers. I took home a bunch of her hens and chicks succulents as well. You will learn as you go. Many hugs and blessings to you.
I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother💖 but it must be nice and comforting to have her succulents as a of way of remembering her and she would probably be really proud to see that you have saved them and learned how to propagate them too! Great video! I have my first batch of propagated leaves and searched for guidance on what to do once the babies start to grow. No other videos explained what to do. Thank you for making it so clear! I’m worried about my succulents in my yard. Monsoon 2021 in Tucson has us with days and days of rain…finally we are having a few days of heat and dry weather. I am hoping they will be alright. I’ve taken a chopstick and made the soil as arid as possible w/out disturbing the roots. Love your channel.

Do you mist them and how often? What’s the temperature where they are at? I normally don’t mist, but if it’s summer out there where you are at, you need to mist them every other day or every other day. One light blast is all they need. If it’s quite cool where you are at, dont mist at all for days. It will encourage the leaf to make more roots. They try to grow more roots, and maybe even thicker roots, when they’re trying to look for moisture. If moisture is always available, they won’t strive to search for more. I hope I was able to explain that well. 😅 They use their roots to search and absorb moisture.
@@SucculentFame I mist them every other day they are in my bedroom Wich is about 70 degrees. It is really hot outside though. They might be getting to much sun.
I think they really shouldn’t have too much sun as they are propagating. In fact I place them by a window or by our sliding door where there is light, but no direct sunlight at all.

I bought a plant and she had 2 babies with a leaf attached, I have them in my propagation tray with some leaves and they are growing. I do water them more often than the rest of the tray.

Hi Suzie, that is so nice to hear. Seeing the tiny leaves is going to be such a wonderful moment. I promise. They are the cutest thing ever...like little puppies and kittens. ☺️ You can spread heavier misting to every other day as they are growing. ‘Cause right now, while they only have roots, light misting is the better way to go.(About less than half an inch) Watering is usually a gradual change. Transition would be from light misting to medium to heavy misting then to light watering with slow drip to deep watering (still slow drip). I am a new subscriber. My grandmother passed away last July, she was obsessed with succulents.
My grandfather gave me a few of hers I potted them and knew nothing about them
They started to grow long and dry up I cleaned them up and plucked the leaves. I came across your channel in hopes to learn to propagate and create more then 4 I have of hers.

I’m worried about my succulents in my yard. Monsoon 2021 in Tucson has us with days and days of rain…finally we are having a few days of heat and dry weather. I am hoping they will be alright. I’ve taken a chopstick and made the soil as arid as possible w/out disturbing the roots. Love your channel.

@@SucculentFame my propagations grow really well but the roots are so tiny and they can't take care of themselves one the leaf dies
Do you mist them and how often? What’s the temperature where they are at? I normally don’t mist, but if it’s summer out there where you are at, you need to mist them every other day or every other day. One light blast is all they need. If it’s quite cool where you are at, dont mist at all for days. It will encourage the leaf to make more roots. They try to grow more roots, and maybe even thicker roots, when they’re trying to look for moisture. If moisture is always available, they won’t strive to search for more. I hope I was able to explain that well. 😅 They use their roots to search and absorb moisture.
@@SucculentFame I mist them every other day they are in my bedroom Wich is about 70 degrees. It is really hot outside though. They might be getting to much sun.
I think they really shouldn’t have too much sun as they are propagating. In fact I place them by a window or by our sliding door where there is light, but no direct sunlight at all.

I bought a plant and she had 2 babies with a leaf attached, I have them in my propagation tray with some leaves and they are growing. I do water them more often than the rest of the tray.

Hello Sheila, at what point do you stop misting the baby succulents daily, to start watering them like "adult" succulents? By the way, thank you for your videos, they're so interesting! I love that you talk about your own passions, and what inspires you. I am trying my first succulent propagation, and my leaves have made some roots! :) I'm having so much fun!
Hi Suzie, that is so nice to hear. Seeing the tiny leaves is going to be such a wonderful moment. I promise. They are the cutest thing ever...like little puppies and kittens. ☺️ You can spread heavier misting to every other day as they are growing. ‘Cause right now, while they only have roots, light misting is the better way to go.(About less than half an inch) Watering is usually a gradual change. Transition would be from light misting to medium to heavy misting then to light watering with slow drip to deep watering (still slow drip).
