The more I listen to Joel talk about how to set my back tension and then focus on trigger and execution, the more I understand. The more I understand the more I can do in my own shot. Thanks for posting, you have given me something pretty helpful. I am now hitting subscribe to your channel.

I often find myself with the pin below the target. I will try taking my finger off the trigger to bring the pin back up. I always attempt to muscle the pin up in this situation. I never let down, and restart. love listening to Joel, he has some really good insight. Thanks for sharing.

I am on year three with what Joel teaches....it has totally changed on how I execute my shot. He is so good, believe in it...if you can't do it...TRY HARDER! When your brain allows you to leave the aiming room and STAY focused on JUST your release it will blow your mind how "easy" it gets!!

Want to test yourself... with an stan onnex release you can use a firing pin to stop it from actually going off. If you're handed the release and you don't know if the pin is in or not, watch what happens.

7:50 So many arrows!!! This is like a wet dream for me XD This is the most amount of arrows I ever seen in one spot.
This will never happen where Im from o.o We are WAY too tiny. There are more arrows here than there are archers in my entire country lol.
He literally has 10,000+ arrows in that shop (jsut this angle). I think there are 10,000 arrows just on the left side row. And the right side looks like they are closer packed.
    Holy shizz kebab :P

I have found that archery has an over abundance of "talk" .... So many people that are "experts" will talk themselves in circles over the course of a few years... archery is just incredibly nuanced and it is a very individualized sport. There are a few basics that work with every human, but beyond that, you need to find your own shot and work on things you feel you need to work on. Too many people these days think they can just listen to george ryalls or joel turner and that will help fix their shot... but in my experience, nothing will help more than shooting lots of arrows. If you want to actually get significantly better with your bow, you need to shoot 150+ arrows a day for a few months. Also 100 good arrows is better than 200 bad arrows of course, but I know lots of people that just don't shoot enough. Nothing any of these "experts" say matters because they don't shoot enough to actually learn to apply it subconsciously while in their shot.
Strangely enough, some people I shoot with can only shoot a surprise shot and struggle to shoot a command shot. Its just how their mind and body works through the shot process... other guys I know cannot shoot a surprise shot after 5 years of trying everything in the book... they just cant do it, so they command their shot and they shoot phenomenal anyways. I try to do my best to get close to a surprise, but I still tend to know when the shot is going to break. Its just suuuch a nuanced sport and there are so many variables at play... I always tell new archers to try and learn the "cookie cutter" release style and form in the beginning... and then after doing that for a while they often find their own little variables that work better for them. If you look at the Pro line at vegas or any large event, you will see tons of different shot processes, forms, and release styles.... and thats how it should be since we are all built differently and our minds are not robotic.
This is all just my opinion of course... I encourage everyone to do what they feel works for them.
