There is a VERY busted combo with Heart of the Underdog where you activate Reload as soon as you would no longer draw more cards. This will make you redraw ALL the cards in your hand, and immediately trigger another round of HotU.
If you have more than one of both spell cards, it's pretty easy to draw your whole deck.
However, this still means most of your deck is basically bricks, so while it's absolutely busted for card advantage, you better have a reason for diamond-handing your entire deck ^.^

Maybe combo it with Law of the normal? If you pulled it off you could have a whole board while they have an empty hand and have a massive amount of normal monsters. Though, still having any non monster cards will make Underdog less consistent, but it could be interesting to try.

    • @lordgeovanni
      @lordgeovanni 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheCindering
Nah, it was too inconsistent to have even a small amount more non-Normals. I played this a bit right around mid-Pendulum and really you only wanted to focus on consistent methods to set up your board with a negate (Rescue Rabbit into Evolzar Laggia) or floodgate (Evilswarm Ophion). And then you could also use Hand Destruction (so long as your opponent has at least 2 cards in hand) and HotU would also activate again. Pendulums made it very consistent, with both Pendulum Spells and Pendulum Summoning, but it still had the major flaw about needing Turn 3 in order to go off, and that required HotU not being destroyed. After that risk, drawing even a single non-Normal was too much a risk.
My Deck, for comparison, would have only 3x HotU, 3x Hand Destruction, 3x Reload, and then Rescue Rabbit. Add in a ton of Pendulums, Level 4's of specific Rescue Rabbit use, and maybe some Normal Tuners with high defense. Now that contact fusions are more common, it might be slightly better, but without a way to reliably protect HotU (in addition to a negate/floodgate) it would always be a huge gamble in general.

0:21 This gives me an idea to retrain Breaker the Magical Warrior in a way that combines it with Berserker Soul:
    _Breaker the Berserker Warrior_ (DARK)
    Level 4
    Spellcaster/Effect
_If this card is summoned, or if your opponent activates a card or effect; Place 1 Spell Counter on it. Gains 300 ATK/DEF for each Spell Counter on it. You can remove 1 Spell Counter from this card, then target 1 Spell/Trap on the field; destroy that target. If this card attacks and Inflicts battle damage to your opponent, you can declare 1 card type (Monster/Spell/Trap): Excavate the top card from your deck, and if it’s of the declared type, send it to the GY, and if you do that, this card can attack again in a row, And if it does, repeat this effect (up to 7 more times or until you excavate a Card of a type that wasn’t declared)._

Or what if I combined Spell/Trap destruction and extra attack effects? Made all the extra Berserker Soul attacks made you spend a Spell Counter (So you can avoid having to keep the spell counters max. to 1, because the Spell/Trap and attack effects are competing for the same pool of resources)? I could even take off the limit of 7 since the spell counters would be the limit instead.

Here, let me bounce a potential errata off of you, tell me how you like it:
_If this card is summoned, or if your opponent activates a card or effect; Place 1 Spell Counter on it. Gains 300 ATK/DEF for each Spell Counter on it. You can remove 1 Spell Counter from this card, then target 1 Spell/Trap on the field; destroy that target. If this card attacks and Inflicts battle damage to your opponent, you can remove 1 Spell counter from this card; It can attack again in a row._
So basically this can turn the card into a battle related Diet-“MAXX “C””, where if they spam too many Card/Effect activations, and you’re able to protect Breaker until the battle phase, The Berserker Warrior would be able to dish out a potentially _ruinous_ amount of battle damage, and/or absolutely smash up your opponent’s monsters. Meanwhile tying it to it’s Spell Counters A: Is more in character for Breaker himself, B: Makes his user need to decide white either save the Spell counters for destroying Spells/Traps or to MAIM-KILL-BURN in battle, and C: It stops the card from being a self-milling machine at the same time it’s being a killing machine.

    what about this card
    Uradora of Fate
    normal spell
Pay 1000 LP, then target 1 face-up monster you control; it gains 1000 ATK until the end of your opponent's turn, and if it does, apply this effect until the end of your opponent's turn.● Each time it destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can reveal the bottom card of your Deck and place it on the top or bottom of the Deck.If the revealed card was a Dragon, Dinosaur, Sea Serpent, or Wyrm monster, draw 1 card for every 1000 ATK of that monster, then gain 1000 LP for each card drawn.
this card gives you an attack boost , draw cards and gain life points
it is will be more effective with monsters that can attack more than one time to try your luck and if you are lucky the next attempts will be guaranteed if you put the card in the bottom of the deck
even if you are unlucky you will get the attack boost

He even lost a gamble in a duel prior to that moment in that manga. Question is particularly fun with a charmer.Deck build as most people can never remember the individual names as they all share titles.
Speaking of which I wouldnt mind seeing a failed archetype about them, They have a lot of potential , but they're a little too gimmicky to be competitive outside of a few choice links like the light charmer or hiita to steal snake eyes

i was in class 10 and often played yu-gi-oh during recess with the fifth grade pupils, (not for prices or stuff but for fun)
i had multiple decks for fun and one real one, i rotated question through my decks so they never knew if it was inside,

Other cards that are great when paired with Heart of the Underdog include any Quick-Play spell that can draw you cards, particularly Reload and Hand Destruction. While these are great to have to help you *GET* to HotU if you don't have it in your starting hand, they're not dead if you draw them either. This is because HotU only cares if you draw *A* Normal Monster *DURING* the Draw Phase, not the 1st card or cards drawn with HotU.
So, if you draw one of these cards instead of a Normal Monster, you can immediately activate it, draw 2+ cards, and continue the chain. Even if your luck is terrible and the last card you drew was a non-Normal Monster, HotU only cares that *A* Normal Monster was drawn, not whichever one was last. Best of all, Reload in particular only gets crazier as the game goes on because it shuffles your entire hand into the deck to draw the same number of cards. This means that the more cards you draw, the better your odds are that you'll draw other copies of Spells or the Exodia head in a way that keeps them from interrupting HotU's effect.

If this list wasn't inspired by the recent Master Duel double Skull Invitation event then it's some crazy coincidental timing.
(I played against someone running Numerons, draw cards, and Saryuja to get their LP super low, then Reversal Quiz call "Spell" and win instantly.
I made a budget version of the deck since I already had Saryuja, Numeron, and a playset of Reversal Quizzes. Though I found out the hard way that you have to have at least 1 other card in your hand, and Fhuma Shuriken/Black Pendent have to be sent from the *FIELD* to the GY to activate...
The craziest thing was, not only did I eventually manage to pull off a win despite not having cards like Upstart Goblin and running Planet Pathfinder for consistency, but I won by sending 2 Copies of Fhuma Shuriken to the GY just like the guy who beat me, but also with the *EXACT* same card on the top of my deck revealed by Reversal Quiz ...which was the *THIRD* Shuriken!

They need to make a berserker soul retrain that makes it stronger than the anime one because it’s not like berserker soul was broken in the anime
Also if I had a penny for every time I used true name blindly calling metal reflect slime that Maxx C is chained to by the opponent, for the top deck to be correct and while I also have The Revived Sky God in my opening hand all on turn 1, I would have 2 pennies. That isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice. No really what are the odds of that happening twice?

You’re just wrong about the Berserker Soul moment. In the dub, it’s a turn to darkness, with Tea even getting mad at the Pharaoh. In the sub, it’s a moment of rage, with Anzu stopping the Pharaoh because he’s really doing himself no good in the moment

    How Question is really good:
    Make your monster cards Japanese.
So the opponent must know how to read/speak Japanese to actually get Question correct.
(alternatively, so they must know BEFOREHAND what the cards original name is)
    "Question!"
    "Blue Eyes White Dragon."
"No. The bottom card is actually 青眼の白龍"
