Hi and welcome to our channel!
Who are we:
Scandinavians Arne Nerjordet and Carlos Zachrison are highly regarded designers, textile artists and authors. They are best known for their craft books and their original, colourful and visually striking designs. Their work is highly influenced by their Scandinavian background and their everyday life in rural Norway. They work under their artist name ARNE & CARLOS, which they established in 2002.
We publish a weekly, new tutorial every Sunday on both our TH-cam channel and our Facebook page. We hope you enjoy it!

Really? Some people complained about Freja barking?? I love to hear Freja and look for her each podcast - is she by the window; under the chair? It’s is your house, your dog, your “show” do what you want. Her timing is perfect - like the photo bomb in Arne’s picture. So sorry to hear you are ill, Arne. I am very excited about all the new projects for 2020. Thank you for bringing Christmas joy.

I'm probably too late for the giveaway, but if not--I've never knitted with Prym needles but I'm eager to after hearing you enjoy them so much! I agree with many others who have commented: Freja (spelling may be incorrect, sorry) is a delight, not a bother. Yes, she comments occasionally but I have never found it excessive or bothersome. I hope you don't feel you have to sequester her. She's family, and she's welcome!
Can't imagine anyone complaining about Freja. She's a lovely part of the family & in my opinion adds to the cozyness I feel when I watch your videos.❤ I love hearing her little voice telling you about the "elusive" moose!

Good evening guys lovely to see you both. My you've had a busy year. We just love Freja imagine getting complaints about her barking she's a dog and they bark the moaners need to get real. Sorry your not feeling good Arne get better soon. Comparing the covers of your book I think you have both improved with age. I don't like snakes so your very brave Arne 'The Snake Whisper'. You make our Sundays very interesting the photos are fantastic and you have been all over the world. I would like to say thank you for a wonderful year. I found it very poignant to watch this video today after watching the 4th of advent 2020 two days ago. So many of your plans for 2020 were upended (as they were for most of us) yet you look back on 2020 with gratitude and grace. Your optimism and creativity is very inspiring. ❤️

This travel log for the year was so interesting. The two of you are amazing. It must be nice to be home and cuddle with Miss Freya. I did not mind Freya barking at all. She is such a lovely little lady. I am looking forward to all your new adventures and amazing ideas. "Weed is just a plant growing in the wrong place"
Here in central Illinois soybean and corn fields are the cash crops. The fields get weeded to remove the corn plants growing in the bean fields and vice versa. Why are these cash plants being weeded? Because they are in the wrong place.
So if you welcome all the plants in your garden there are no weeds in it. Then you don't need anyone to pull anything.
We have a cat named Freya, which fits well as Freya is supposed to be pulled in a wagon by cats. That said, Freya is a terrific dog and little dogs take their jobs protecting the house seriously. Go Freya - go. Protect the family from those wily moose!

The lovely folks at Prym were kind enough to direct me to the Mary Maxim website to order their needles. No stores in North Carolina carry Prym. And now I am knitting my first project with them, a Christmas Pig Ornament. I am using the 4US double points and it is heavenly! I especially love the bulb points. That feature makes it much easier pick up the stitch below and increase. It is like I have rediscovered the love of knitting anew since I found your website and you tube channel plus these needles. Thank you both Arne and Carlos!
My favorite needles are circular, size 1, 16". Making socks has become my latest addiction. Using two circular needles works best for me. And thanks for all that you and your team do. The podcasts are entertaining and informative.

I segued back from 2023 to this video. Hearing your travel plans for 2020 and realizing that none of them materialized is sobering. However - it was the quarantine blocks that led me to you.
That was a tough year. But - onward!
I enjoyed your final 2019 podcast. I am also headed to Japan in 2020, mid March to early April. We are headed to Hokkaido, staying on a sheep farm, then visiting the Sheep Museum, yes also snow sking, and visiting an alpaca farm in Shendai and Shawn the Sheep outside Tokyo. The Sakura Festival will be going on as well. I hope someday to make one of your cruises, they sound great. Happy Holidays to you all.
I love your podcasts. Your back and forth about this and that, your travels, your friends and workshop attendees, gardens, museums... .it's all so welcome. Freja has two homes where she is loved and we'll cared for. That is a plus.
I enjoy the Prym dpn for socks and mittens. They have the right amount of grip and slip.

Hi Arne and Carlos, I have to say thank you to Arne for your patience to demonstrate Norwegian knitting! By watching your tutorial I knew your way would be easier than continental. It was challenging at first but now I can do it!!! Its nice at 64 to look forward to more years of knitting with hands more relaxed, no sore fingers. She's a dog, for heaven's sake. They bark at stuff, that's what they do. It does not bother me at all. But I have 2 dachshunds that alert me to everything that moves outside our house. So I'm used to dogs. Freja is precious. Bark on, girl!

I love Prym needles and the 40 cm circulars are my favourite ! I love them to make baby hats and I mostly use 3 or 3,5 mm. Plus the ends are so sharp and nice ❤️

Just listened to this saga of your travels in North America in 2019, including a stop - sounds whirlwind, though - toward the end in my hometown, Baltimore. You fellows were smart NOT to come in summer, when it is so killingly hot and humid that you will just want to crawl into an icebox.
I see those old snowshoes all the time in the Adirondacks (think “Lake Placid” Olympics in 1980). You might find a better summer there, but lately it’s been warming up uncomfortably.
Anyway, it was interesting to listen to this, filmed on the eve of the Covid pandemic.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you both! You've been such a lovely companion to my knitting journey: thank you! I can say now I can knit Norwegian way and with DPNs!!! I'm very proud because I taught myself how to knit, solely by watching TH-cam videos: from the English style, to Portuguese and, more recently, the Norwegian. Arne's tutorials have taught me the Norwegian way :) (I even purl!). This is my preferred way. Carlos' journalistic take have taught me so much about Scandinavian culture. I've became really appreciative of this culture, a big fan, I'd say. I think the different roles you both take on have worked really well; but I look forward to the innovations you're planning for next year :)
I watched the end-of-year podcast in parts: a little bit per day. Just finished (hence the belated Merry Christmas wishes). I've never used Prysm, but would love to try! This time, I wouldn't promise to re-gift it to my mother-in-law :) Since I'm still so new to knitting and still finding the equipment that works best for me, I'd keep them :)
I love my Pyrm DPNS! I have US 4, 6, 7 & 8 in the 8 in length. I also have a pair of straights in US 6. I started my collection with a couple of sets at Vogue Knitting Live in NY. I've ordered some from JoAnn's Fabrics or Amazon, as I find them available. (They're not so readily available in the US.) I don't have any circulars yet, but I do have their yarn ball (better than a yarn bowl). Have you seen it? I would love to win one of the Prym advent boxes! Thanks for letting us know about Pyrms! The ergonomic needles I had purchased before the Pryms are $30 a pair! They are the beautiful handcrafted hexagonal needles from Indian Lakes Artisans. After growing that collection of fixed circulars over a number of years, I was thinking of starting to save for DPNS. Fortunately, I saw the episode where you introduced the Pryms. So much more wallet-friendly, and I also love the white color and the bulb tips.

This podcast was like sitting with you in person. Balls (Christmas ones, Arne), one breakfast B&B, the half naked City of LA, all the yarn shops and flea (Vintage to Carlos) markets, the unexpected long trip with Toronto Knitters Guild, poisonous snake whisperer Arne, sick with a cold Arne (hope the hot drink Carlos will make) helps you recover quicker and so much more!

Very enjoyable podcast as usual, I was knitting while listening about your amazing adventures. I’ve learned to knit socks recently, so my favourite needles are 2.5mm, 25cm circulars. I find them easier than DPNs, but I guess practice makes perfect. Thank you for another year of inspiration. Happy Xmas and have a wonderful New Year! xx
