  • @SongDesire

    Damper pretty much adds fake weight to the wheel, which is usually designed to reduce oscillations in the wheel. It is an option that is sometimes required and sometimes not, but is often a hindrence on lower end wheels (slows down the wheels self rotation speed, very bad on some wheels such as the G27/G29/G920). In terms of Damper and Assetto Corsa, the game uses a dynamic damper, which is only really active at very low speeds. So you can just leave it at 100%. Forza 7 and Forza Horizon 4 both use a dynamic damper as well.
    In games that dont have a dynamic damper setting, they usually have an ingame option to adjust it. If you however have it set to 0% in the Thrustmaster software, in game damper settings will not work at all. Most modern racing games have either a dynamic damper or an option in game to adjust the level of damping (or even both). But to use the ingame settings, you need to have the damper setting in the TM software set to 100%.
    In much older games that just didnt feature very many options in game for setting up force feedback settings, you would have to manually adjust them in the wheels software. Which has given the very old hat advice of setting Damper and Spring in the wheels software to 0%. This advice is generally not needed in a modern title with a decent set of options for force feedback included.
    Pretty much for most modern racing games and sims with decent FFB settings, you ideally want to be leaving Spring and Damper set to 100% in the wheels software and just adjust as needed in the particular racing title you are using.
    p.s If you press and hold the "mode" button on the T300 RS servo base, it will flip the throttle/clutch. It should resolve the issue with them showing up the wrong way around.

      About Damper - same said ;) Building customs got even t300 on higher voltage .. 3rd in my hands
      LUT is nice joke ; ) same like setting in Thrustmaster settings anything other than 900 eg / 100 % on all positions + last pos. game decide... AC - gain 100. on stock rs wheel min force 4, on 350 mm 5 - 6 usually depends of type of adapter, weight offset etc. / soft lock no matter on or off , post process off , gyro on i experimental where also damp gasi 100 and min. 12 / in game ffb clip and looking for max possible % with no clipping when drifting. End. Me and many of friends using with all drift packs. On new DCGP - dont care couse its car pack made for ppl like wheel of fortune or jackpot ;) On DMVC all 4 ccars correct value will be always lower than 100% per car and usually close to 75 - 80 %. VDC rx-7 need much higher than other cars from 2.0 public pack and how much really depends on size of rim etc. Way to be sure is easy - if on slow track like for example VDC Rockingham losing traction i strange moments - ffb per car is too low.
      More than half year of tests with many skilled and also real world drivers ;)
      Ppl just got funny logitech in minds all the time and also spring is problem for them ... and wondering how many of them know about + and - values that this effect can do ;)

    Thanks for a baseline.
    I believe though that the LUT stuff is more bad than good for Thrustmaster wheels due to them already being pretty linear, compared to the likes of Logitech wheels so it's not worth doing. In my experience it makes things on my T300 feel so awful it's not even possible to drive lol
    Big thanks for the fan tip, when I got my T300 I ONLY came across people saying you can only toggle it on with a T500 or better. Poor things been running in auto for a few years now but still hasn't had motor fade :)
    Also worth mentioning that hitting mode and D-pad left and right toggles preset steering locks and flashes for each setting. 240, 360, 540, 900 and 1080 iirc

    For some reason all the cars i drive are bumping when I go sideways like they are hitting tiny speedbumps also I cant seem to drift non of the cars, or they all wipe out or they are straighting instant and wont go in drift. I can drift in Carx perfectly ( I know its not the real deal but it gives the basics ) here in Assetto it feels impossible like it will never happen. i see vids on youtube about AC where I see cars float like they are sliding on ice, when I try I have to give everything to or get in a drift or to keep the car straight. i know it has to do something with settings/tunes but I can figure out what it is. • @One37Works
      @One37Works  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah for sure, it's all personal feel and car dependant, I personally have always used either -1 or -2, never had trouble getting/staying sideways :P As I said its just a general base setup I've found works well on the car :) And thanks very much, glad you found it helpful! :D

    • @waider
      @waider 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@One37Works for sure with - 2 camber you have less contact patch so the car will stay sideways but it'll be slow and you'll have less grip. With 0 or even positive camber you'll have more grip.

    You shouldnt be using a LUT on a belt driven wheel. They are made for gear driven wheels like the logishits. All this is gonna do is make the wheel feel worse. ask anyone with wheel knowledge will say this including Alan.

    • @One37Works
      @One37Works  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fair dues, if thats the current knowledge, then 100%! For me in theory at least, I dont see personally how what its made to do would differ between wheels, at the end of the day certain mods will come with different FFB strengths inherent than others which will need to be reduced compared to others, which is how I view it, it's like the FFB version of Compression, in music terms if you're familiar. Basically bringing all the random mods you may drive down into line to be right at the right FFB level for your wheel. Either way, these settings work for me, I've never had issues drifting alone or in tandems, so it's possibly one of those things that doesnt make a HUGE huge difference whether you use it one way or the other haha! Appreciate the heads up all the same man, thanks!
