Carotone does contain Hydroquinone. H will lighten you significant during the first three weeks but however after discontinuance, it sensitizes the skin to the sunlight and causes even darker and larger hyperpigmentation than before.
There are a lot of alternatives nowadays and always lean towards products containing fruits acids. They are effective and less side effects. Remember; only use lightening/brightening/whitening products at night and always use only sunscreen and moisturizer at day.

Yes just add alot of oils to prevent break out. Stop application if any allergies
If you know what's good for you just avoid all this abidijan product talk more of this concoction cos it would ruin your skin at the long run
