      I thought the same, there are several videos around showing injured/ill owls which are oddly non aggressive, i'd say this one has head trauma, I can tell by the way he is closing the eyes, there's a certain lack of synchrony and coordination... BUT it could be very well me an you are wrong and the owl was fine, which I want and im going to believe in this case (until further information is given by the video's owner)

    It is important to remember NOT to use poison in traps to exterminate mice and rats, because raptors like owls, eagles and hawks find them and eat them. They end up getting sick and dying a slow death also.
    If you need to exterminate mice and rats, use snap traps in places under the house in the crawl space where only they can get to. Using poison is inhuman, and kills a lot of good animals unintentionally, not only the predators that eat them, but also squirrels and rabbits.

    • @jaymoto9820
      @jaymoto9820 6 ปีที่แล้ว +49

      You're exactly right Don. I worked for the most well known pest control company in the U.S., and so many people didn't want us to use snap traps and similar instant kill methods because they didn't think they were humane. They never stop to consider what the rodenticide block methods can lead to.

On day three he was alert and I feed him raw beef and chicken, day 7 I took him outside and he flew into a tree and stayed there for a day or so, then one day he flew off.

    Once you fall in love with a bird your heart will never be the same. I’ve had the privilege of living with companion parrots for 30 years. Flower Girl. Wait, didn't he just say he caught that owl.How does anyone catches an owl? Hunting for owls? Targeting a owl,a top predator, only makes sense if a farmer claims livestock losses.
      That seems unlikely & even if that were the situation eliminating owls from the environment would result in explosive vermin numbers !Potentially, a far more expensive problem than the loss of a few chickens.

      @@jamesc7121 it is normal for a FLEDGLING to be out of the nest. It is not normal for a NESTLING to be out of the nest, which is what you helped. While it's all good intentioned, it isn't best for us to intervene like that. The needed to be put back in the nest or in a makeshift nest near its nest OR get taken in by a wildlife rehabber. I didn't know the full details of your story, so I apologize. But no, I'm not wrong. Well, at least he wasn't nodding, which would be indicative of a more severe head trauma. He was really acting like either he was really out of it or he was an imprint, which would be concerning if someone else had him as a baby cuz he wouldn't have learned to take care of himself, but whatever raptor center he was taken to would have made sure he could hunt and survive in the wild before releasing him. :) Good job getting him to the right people!

    • @MsCherade9
      @MsCherade9 6 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      bigbluesparky Wow, what's it like to live in your own private reality? I'd feel sorry for you but you don't care whether I live or die, so why on earth should I waste my pity on you? You're being lied to on a massive scale and frankly, you enjoy it. The most important thing is you are a minority of a minority, as loud as you are online.
      Enjoy your guns, they mean more to you than the people and society you live in, as well as every part of the Constitution that you claim to venerate. Washington and the Founding Fathers would look at you and those who think like you as if you were the enemy. One day your grandchildren will look back at you and your behaviour they way my generation do in Germany - as an object lesson so as to avoid falling into the same trap all over again.

  • @christopherbanks6578
    @christopherbanks6578 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    That's amazing because owls can't see very well at daytime they're actually nocturnal animals and I do most of their hunting at night so he must have really made an impression on that owl in order for it to hang out with him during the day because that's when their most vulnerable they're basically blind in the Sun or daytime
