My uncle from Oregon made a breakfast, lemon cucumber, yellow squash, zucchini, onion, sliced all. Bite sized, a little water to cook, when they are almost ready, poached eggs in the middle of boiling Vegies. Add crumbled bacon and cheese,
God bless you Kent you are blessing in the bleak world

almost there
Nice work Kent. Your story about Paris sounds like a long yard, but that suggestion to mpremelt the cheese is genius.
Man, I've been craving a Monte Cristo ever since Bennigan's closed back in '08. I'd get one once every month or two for years (granted I was younger and more active so the cals didn't bother me lol). I've come across some recipes from time to time but they just always seemed more involved than they should be. Specialty bread, specialty cheeses, etc. More of a special occasion type recipe I guess you could say over a simple recipe that you could put on a menu and make fairly quick. This is simple and to the point and with what I already have in the cupboard :). Thank you Cowboy Kent and Shannon!
yes sir, that's where i originally had one. anytime i went, that's what i got, and a few beers!
Wow, Bennigan’s is a blast from the past. They made a great Monte Cristo. I’ve ordered them in a lot of greasy spoon diners, but Bennigan’s was always consistent. I miss that place.
My sister worked there when I was in high school so over 30 years ago. The monte cristo is what I got every time the family went to give her a good tip. I love that sandwich.
Loved the MC at Bennigan’s!!! Was my favorite. Tried to get there at least once a month. Always had it with their orange marmalade. (That’s where I fell in love with orange marmalade as well)
I always got the Monte Cristo at Bennigan’s too. My favorite sandwich of all time. I recently had one at a local tea room and was so excited they had it on the menu. Theirs wasn’t made the way it should and I was very disappointed. Didn’t even serve it with jam.
through the hard times on lockdown KENT helped millions of us entertainer cowboy cook of the world thank you for many years watching you grow to LEGEND KENT many hours of fun too thank you again my friend
Kent, I have to say, you've been my favorite addition to my subscriptions over the last couple of years. Your content is so wholesome and I love the outdoors/cast iron aspect. Thank you for all of the wonderful entertainment.
I’m gunna need to make this and add bacon, roasted whole flat jalapeño and call it the “CowboyCristo” thanks for this inspiration Mr. Rollins!
I mean why not? Some deep fried pickles on the side...
Maaannnn......that sounds good eaten.
Glad he's using DUKE'S Mayo ... my lifetime favorite .. invented right here in Greenville, SC

My hell Kent you are the best
Brother you are an embodiment of positivity and what one should look up to. When I want to cheer up, I put on some Cowboy Kent. Thank you for being such a role model.
I had one of these sandwiches a long time ago never knew how to cook them until now it’s time to start cooking
Know what is awesome? Reading all the comments of positivity and respect. Miss internet where ppl behave the way we did yrs ago.
Awesome video as always, and can't wait for 2 million, you two deserve it! 🤠👌🏼
hello kent, i'm from brazil and i think what you do on the internet is really cool.
sharing culture is preserving what each place in the world has developed!
and above all keep your values
BTW: Bennigan's would assemble the sandwich, then tightly wrap in plastic wrap and freeze till the next day. Then they would batter and deep fry. Apparently the reason for this is that they cook better. I'm not entirely sure why (That's a question for Alton Brown) but that's what they did according to many copy cat recipes. They also used stale Texas Toast.
The Air Force sent me to Red Lion Hotels a few times. Some of them have spectacular restaurants in them; they do. One of them had Monte Cristo on the menu. I ordered it just out of curiosity, and it instantly became my go-to.
"Aint nothing beats a fresh egg." As he is literally beating a fresh egg. Love it!
Omg! Pepper jack is genius! Hello from Wisconsin!

Man this guy makes everything thing he cooks look so easy.
I look forward to these so much Yall, thank you for sharing this with us and making this such a wonderful experience!! Grew up living across the street from Disneyland in the 90s so we got these alot
One of my favorites things to do at disney too!
I bet that was cool. I actually briefly worked in Anaheim in the early 2000s. The traffic was HORRENDOUS! Sometimes it took 3 or 4 hours to get home.
God bless you and your family.
I always ordered this sandwich at the ski lodge for lunch. That was years ago, but bring it back! Yum!
Hi Kelly
They best Monte Cristo I remember was at Black Eyed Pea back in the 80's
Thank you for another wonderful video, your attitude and overrall personality is like sunshine on a rainy day. Every subscriber is definitely earned!
So thankful to see an all American like Kent. He makes me nostalgic for years gone by!🇺🇸🍞
I had these when I lived in New Orleans, I moved there from the UK. I had a neighbor who made these for me he owns a restaurant there. They are delightful treats I think it's wonderful for tea time as well.😄 Thank you very much for this video.❤
Looks better than any Monte Christo I've ever had in a restaurant.
Thanks Kent ! I've been cook'n like this for my grandson lately and I am becoming his new best bud.
Oh man brings back memories of Bennigan's Restaurant from the 90s. My family and I are looking forward to your next life cooking video. Thank you Ken and Shannon
Early 2000s when last one disappeared. It's a shame
I've never had a Monte Cristo sandwich before. I'm going to try making some very soon.
Kent I’ve never seen this sandwich looks amazing I will try it asap. And bless you all as well.
The sandwich looks oh so good. I like the new look of the kitchen at the barn and how you have old glory framed up there.
Kent and Shannon, We love you two and the joy and love you bring to cooking each week. Thank you for sharing your stories and for all of the amazing recipes you prepare each week.
There was a small restaurant we would always visit on our way to Buena Vista, CO, in Salina when we would go on our family vacations (starting from Oklahoma, no less!). It was the First Street Cafe. I would always order the New York Strip Sandwich, but my grandfather and my sister would always, ALWAYS order the Monte Cristo, and they would always put grape jelly all over it. Thank you so much for making me think of my grandfather again; he left us a couple years ago on Christmas Day, but seeing you dance to a Monte Cristo with jam and powdered sugar made me think of him and made me so happy. I have told my entire family about you, and recommended all of your recipes, and my family is the type to definitely use them. Thank you so much for all you do, sir. You are a beacon of peace and happiness in these times that I think everyone desperately needs.
Thanks Andrea for sharing and i would have loved to have met your father
Kent one of the best sandwiches ever and the backdrop is amazing great job kent
Another delicious video can’t wait to try this always look forward to seeing what will be so delicious on the weekly video love 💕 the Rollins 💛💜🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It was great meeting you last week at the coffee shop. We are the Coast Guard Family that travels full-time in our RV. We should connect again and maybe do some cooking together.
I grew up in Germany and had never heard of a Monte Christo sandwich. When we immigrated, diners were still viable and Monte Christos were available. After trying one, I was hooked. I have a recipe for an oven baked one which is actually pretty nice. It's a shame the good diners are gone for the most part and fast food has taken over. So, I'm glad you and Shannon get your Monte Christo fix much easier these days and leave some for the rest of us. Thank you and hug those doggies for me.
Thanks for sharing this one with us Kent and Shannon. That looks so good. Looking forward to you all hitting the 2 Million Subscribers, there will be a hot time in the old town that night. Stay safe and have lots of fun with it. Fred.
You make cooking so much fun. I have been wanting one of these for a long time and when I seen you had a recipe I knew I was gonna go with it! Thank you so much for sharing. I can't wait to have one!
The crunch of that first bite is when I quoted a famous group in saying "Mine!? Mine!?". A co-worker of mine and I like to watch your videos when we take breaks or lunches, thank you for inspiring me to cook like a cowboy.
Almost 2 million subscribers!!! You will be there shortly!!! Thanks for the video today! You always brighten up the day!!!😉💕😋🌟

Congrats! You are a great guy, and deserve all the respect!
I cannot wait to try out some of your recipes. I found your TH-cam channel several months ago and I’ve been faithfully watching every since and now I have my 23 old grandson liking to watch you. You are awesome, funny, caring, and got some great dance moves. I don’t see how Shannon does it without laughing all the time and she has a wonderful laugh. Love the dogs, a great addition to the channel. And I like that chuck wagon. Loving the channel keep up the love. 🙃🙃🙃
As always, thanks so much for serving and sharing, Kent.

Love the Monte Cristo at Disneyland, one of my favorite places. Looks like ya nailed it on that sandwich kent. Keep up the great videos. Hope ya hit 2 million really soon. Your the best
Thanks and we appreciate you watching
My absolute favorite sandwich! Used to get them from Bennigans, but yours looks so much better!!! Duke's is the best!
Hi Mary
One of the only places I can find Dukes where I live is at Dollar Tree and Big Lots. It's good Mayo for sure...
Oh my! It's the first time I've heard of this dish and it's already make me feel mouth-watering.
It's funny that this video was in the newsletter I read today. My cousin and I were just talking about Monte Cristo sandwiched earlier today. I may need to make some, she's never had one. Thanks you so much Kent, Sulhannon, and the pups for all you do.
Haven’t watched the whole thing yet, but that looks like the best sandwich I’ve ever seen and I can’t wait to give it a go
It’s the best sandwich you’ve ever eaten and you must give it a go
lmao okay miguel 🤣🥰
@@dillon2160 looks like it, can’t wait, gonna go get stuff for it tonight and make it tomorrow
@@theholubfam4444 what are you talking about?
I'm thinking that the batter would kick butt if being about a third fine ground sweet corn flour. It ain't easy to find and I grow my own. Then again, being a backwoods stump jumpin' biker farmer has advantages.
I still remember the first time I ate a Montecristo. It was like nothing I ever had before.
I've enjoyed a Disneyland Montecristo at the little cafe outside of Pirates of the Caribbean. We sat there eating Montecristos and watched the riverboat go by.
MMMM, MMM!
It's two separate words. Monte Cristo. I'm a Grammar Nazi...I can't help myself. Lol
@@user-sw4qd2up2s Excuse me, I sometimesslur.
Woohoo!!! It's Cowboy Kent time!
Looks wonderful thank you so much Sir.
Every time I watch your videos I end up hungry, but for some reason this video really struck a chord with my belly! I mean, who doesn't love breakfast?!
Thank you Kent and Shan! I go to Disneyland once a month and its so awesome to see y'all make something from there. a Blue Bayou Restaurant classic!
One of my favorite sandwiches 🤤
First time I had this sandwich i was hooked! This will always be my favorite! God Bless You~
Hi Cheri
What a great sandwich - another good one Cowboy Kent - Thank y'all
Kings drive in/restaurant of the 1960s featured a Monte Crisco sandwich quite similar to this without the meat, only cheese. Excellent, a weekly go to. Sadly, when Kings closed the door, their Monte Crisco disappeared. Wonderful to finally know how to make them. Thank you Kent, for giving it back to me. Always enjoy your show and all you give to us. Congratulations on the 2 million you will soon reach.
That crunch though! Ah! Just so good! Thank you Kent and family!
My FAVORITE sandwich of all!
I watched at least six "Monte Cristo" vids here. THAT is the way it's done. MC is a battered sandwich.
I first had one at the Katy Station in Columbia MO. A real treat! Thanks for sharing the RIGHT way. 🙂
Looks delicious, thank you for the video. May God bless you all.
Very likable individual 🙏 subscribed for sure 😉
Your closing words always touch my hart and emotions. Thank you for being you, thank you for your character, and thank you for your great cooking.
Definitely a mouth watering sandwich,I've also used Raspberry and chipotle as a rib glaze...👍👍
Kent, you always make things look so simple, and if we follow your directions…they are. Thank you for that! God bless! 🇺🇸
