    25Mph is what I call a perfect combination with my 750w bafang bbs02 and light a light 9 gear bicycle. I really dont need to go any faster. Its fast enough to go nuts on a bicycle lane and overtake anyone on it. At the same time its advisable to turn down the assist a couple of notches in heavy traffic.
    Remember . This is illigal power and you are paying for it if anything goes wrong

    I commute 32 km (total) a day on my bbs02 with a 13ah battery. Can get there and back, but typically I recharge at work and at home so the battery is between 100 and 50 percent at all times. Always use it at max power.. cruising at 30mph + is amazing. Fastest way to commute in my area for sure. Done 1600km in 3 months. Still going strong. Just needed a new chain and cassette, easy. Motor runs a bit loud now especially when cold? Not sure if I should do anything with it

      @@lilkeh1407 yes it works great. I would go for the 17.5 ah battery if you were building your own kit. For example I went 40 km with mixed riding on medium assistance and had maybe 30 percent left on a touring ride. When I bike to work on max assistance I have about 60 percent remaining after doing 16 km on fill power where I'm not really needing to pedal at all. I think a 17.5 ah battery would be better if you need more range. Same form factor as far as I'm aware

      @@Bosphorus2BigBen My bbs02 round 900 Km (559 miles) yesterday. The motor was lagging and shut down sometimes. I had to solder the plugs connecting the battery. Not a big job. I also gave the motor some extra grease. This is the best motor I had on this bike. Just some smaller issues.

    • @marcofreire
      @marcofreire 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I suggest getting a USB cable so you can tweak the controller firmware. The motor is rated for 750 watts but the controller comes configured from factory with 24 amps, that at 48v does 1152 watts. It comes 'overclocked' from factory that isn't very good for the controller and motor.

  • @navidmehdi6
    @navidmehdi6 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    bro you dont need the gear sensor. just slightly tap your brakes to cut off the motor and then cycle till it changes gears and your good to go. and at least with this method you can decide if its safe to restart the motor. i have the bbs02 as well. good tool for my west london roads.

    • @thomasburras
      @thomasburras 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a gear sensor and thumb stop button works really good for me especially if changing a few gears at once I can hold it in. I never pedal just before braking

    • @tHoM0r
      @tHoM0r ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely, also make it a habit to shift all the way down to 1st when coming to a stop. Then you can shift 2 gears at a time when accelerating... Your rear cogs will thank you for it

      I ordered mine from Aliexpress about 2 years ago. BBS02b 48v 770w. Got the battery from there too, 52v. It came in about 2 weeks and was easy to install.
      I got the 500c display, which is smaller, but I think you don't really need a bigger one. The only issue I have with the 500c is that it's designed for 48v so the battery level bars are not correct. But the voltage is, and that's what really matters anyways.
      I do recommend the 52v battery. It seems to maintain a bit more power even when it's getting nearer to empty.
      Before you order, make sure to take all the measurements to make sure it fits. Especially the battery. Most batteries I found have the mounting holes too high for most frames, but I got one that has adjustable mounting.
      Installation is straightforward and there are good videos on YT if you need help. And just common sense for most parts will help. The outer casing of the motor is aluminium, so don't over tighten any screws like I did. You'll likely need one or two bottom bracket spacers to adjust the distance of the motor from the frame. You'll find those in most bike shops, at least ones that also do bike maintenance. I needed two 2mm ones for mine.
      Also, do get the gear shift sensor which you'll likely need to buy separately, but you'll save your chain and transmission. And the brake sensors are also must have. Because after you stop pedaling, the motor will actually continue for about a second and if you lock your rear wheel you'll likely break something.
      The bafang front chain ring sucks. I had a constant problem with the chain falling off. Changed it to Lekkie bling ring 42t which works great. It's aluminium so it wears off quite fast. Had to change mine at 1300km. But no more chain falling off. And also, don't buy the cheapest chain from local supermarket, buy ones that are designed for ebikes, there's a difference.

    I suggest getting a USB cable so you can tweak the controller firmware. The motor is rated for 750 watts but the controller comes configured from factory with 24 amps, that at 48v does 1152 watts. It comes 'overclocked' from factory that isn't very good for the controller and motor.
