Thanks a lot. I replaced 2 damaged resistors and everything works. In my case sometimes error 12 appeared, other times it loaded the dashboard but still didn't read the games. I will add that I unsoldered the resistors from the 3.5 inch hard drive. I give it a thumbs up and sub.
I have a similar problem, the console gives error 12 and won't move forward, when I try to open the dvd drive it won't open, do you think my problem could be related to these capacitors or could it be something else? If I disassemble the DVD drive it opens and closes but the error persists.
@@RetroRenegadeRepairs just take the belt off and put it in boiling water for half hour, clean the drive cogs while it's soaking then put the belt back in and bob's your uncle
I have seen that done, but I prefer to replace the belt, clean the internals of the drive, relube the gears and rails. When I do this type of stuff for customers I don't want to leave any reason for a repaired or refurbished console to come back under warranty.
Hey thanks for the video man Just had a questions. On your description you have this as part replacement (RES ARRAY 4 RES 33 OHM 1206" ) But the resitors you replaced were 82ohms ? Which is the replacement parts for it ? I just tested mine and both of those same resitors are bad on mine. Thanks
My 1.0 xbox had error vode 07, put the drive in anoyher xbox and got error code 12, put a good dvd drive in both and both booted up fine, started testing those resistors and tried it again and it worked fine. Idk how it fixed itself
Thanks for the tip, and congratulations on the work! Could you make a video showing how to calibrate the Samsung laser? My Xbox keeps showing a reading error but it is already clean and lubricated, but I don't know how to calibrate the laser. Can you help?
There are a few guides on how to adjust the pots, but you'll want to use a multimeter to help make the adjustments. Be sure to note the values of the pots before you start adjusting them. I may make a video on it in the future. Adjusting the pots is time consuming and doesn't always bear fruit. Good luck!
anyone have a part number for these resistors for people that dont have a spare? i was able to make some 33ohm resisrotrs using standard resistors but i want to fix ith a smd resistors
The general characteristics for the resistors are in the description. As long as you pick one that matches the specs you should be able to use any manufacturers resistors.

Very nice. I'm glad this helped you.
just got an xbox with this error 2 days ago thanks for the fix Subscribed!
You're welcome and thanks for the sub.
Man, i managed to fix my drive that has been sitting forever dead by replacing this smd resistors array.. Thank you very much
You're welcome.
I would have liked to have seen if what that resistor bank showed in Ω when off the board. Good information!
Ah, yes. Yea, that completely slipped my mind, sorry about that.
I have a xbox but it says code 9
Just found this channel, and subbed. :)
(i was not here for the error, YT overlords advised this video and i was curious)
Welcome. Hopefully YT made a good choice for you.
Today got mine fixed because of U..
Are THE MAN GOD BLESS BRO 💪✨👍👍👍👍
You're welcome.
Can it be fix?

I'd say there's a good chance it's the resistors.
How much do you charge for this service?😊
it's not going to be able to eject with it being blocked by the console front
True. It didn't even get that far though, the drive needs to be lubed and cleaned.

You'd just purchase both values (33 and 82 ohms), but same package of 1206. Links in the description.
Would you mind sharing a link with the replacement parts 😎

Thats weird, but thats good information for others to try with this issue.
Could have been dirty IDE contacts.
What hot air station do you use?
Aoyue 852A++ Pro, but the YIHUA 959D-Digital Hot Air Rework Station is amazing (and cheaper) and a lot more compact.

What would I look up to find these resistors?
IIRC, "RES ARRAY 4 RES 33 OHM 1206".
Aw man that’s so hard
awesome good to know
Glad you liked it
