Two former NFL offensive linemen (Alex Boone and Jeremiah Sirles) team up with a die-hard football fan and media dweeb (Phil Mackey) for entertaining, informative, opinionated, behind-the-scenes discussions about the game -- from a trenches perspective!

"oh no, they saw our trick plays, now they'll know how to stop them!"
ben johnson laughing maniacally
I’m gonna miss that creativity once Ben inevitably leaves. Not worried about the Lions, they’ll be fine. But it won’t be quite the same.
@@Brocuzgodlocdunfamdogson I am just grateful he decided to stay, now on to a SB win to immortalize this season
Do you guys remember the Joe Lombardi days, when the opposing CBs were telling our receivers which play we were about to run? It’s so nice to have such a talented and creative mind calling our plays these days, and being the opposite of predictable.
Maybe he won't leave. Some guys just want to be coordinators. @@Brocuzgodlocdunfamdogson
@@ChrisRegalado9 everyone wants money. And HC’s make a lot more than OCs.
"If you want the ball, you have to prove that you're good enough to help someone else get the ball." Best quote ever, period.
Don’t remember where I saw it but “No block No rock” simple version of the same thing
OL Committee is the best. I have been watching football forever, but this show has taught me so much about all the intricate OL player responsibilities, shifts, movements, etc. I was never aware of. I keep telling everyone they need to watch this show. -Rob
Agreed they are the best and Hilarious.
Favorite part is seeing the O-Line continuing to block down field. They know Monty is going to keep fighting to keep the play alive.
Favorite part is Monty getting extended because he always fights to keep the play alive.
Not just them. The WRs never stop blocking either. They are all bought in.
I know I'm not supposed like the Lions, but I do enjoy watching them play. Ben Johnson is a great play caller
Happy people pay attention to the trenches
Great block by D MO on the Patrick catch!
I think the whole fourth quarter was a message to the Vikings. Haha Can't wait.
cant wait til for that game
My first time watching, fellas, your commentary is hilarious. " #13 guarding LaPorta, " hey, what's going on? What are you guys doing back there? Why are you throwing it back to him? " 😂😂😂 GO LIONS
The best O Line show on you tube.
Missed opportunity to point out the Ragnow DOUBLE pancake block (with a torn pec muscle) on the Montgomery touchdown beast run. Love the breakdown.
Can you imagine a world where this content is what we have on TV all day and night instead of hot NFL takes mixed in with "CaN wE tAlk abOuT lEbRon?"
I want this and then I want Belichick and Saban to have a long form show breaking down secondary play.
Thank you for the flea flicker breakdown for the OL guys...I always thought this play is a challenge for the OL because of the added tricks...kinda is but in a fun way when everyone knows what they're doing.
I’m a Detroit Lion fan. I love your commentary! Let’s go Lions! “Forward down the field”.
I'm so glad the algorithm gods led me to your channel!
In just over 20 minutes, I’ve learned more about the strategy behind the offensive line vs. defense chess match than I have from hours of other content.
When watching games live, it often looks like chaos in the trenches, but you guys break down the real strategy-the way formations, blocking schemes, and subtle shifts can completely change a play’s outcome. Seeing how offensive lines create space, control the game, and manipulate defenses has totally opened my eyes.
As a long-time suffering Lions fan, since the days of Barry Sanders, it's amazing to finally see my team thrive, and your breakdowns make it even more enjoyable.
New subscriber here-thanks for the great content!
We’re glad you’re enjoying it!
Let's GO! Best pod on the internet!
Just found your channel and subbed immediately. You guys do a great job of breaking down the ABC's of play concepts. As a lifelong and long-suffering Lions fan, it feels good to finally have a competent team, owner and front office. Plus, dismantling and embarrassing the Cowboys was long overdue.
Players who love their coach give maximum effort.
It's contagious. Elevates every person on the field, and on the sideline.
It's the template all FB fan dreams of.
You guys break down individual plays like a brain surgeon. Great job, subscribed.
One thin I will say about Goff. If he's given the extra half second, he'll dice you up more often than not. It's also interesting just how much relies on the TE to make the right call with either the block or route. LaPorta is getting to that next level quickly, if not there already.
Love from overseas - been learning about NFL only since a year and your show teaches me a lot
15:32 Gibbs stance is crazy lol
This made me so anxious and excited for this weeks game. Let’s go boys.
Great breakdown. Thank you
How about that first catch by Tim he was absolutely mugged before the ball arrived, the side judge is standing right there and NO FLAG for PI???
Very fun breakdown. You guys rock.
I was laughing the whole game Make?
Them look like clowns.
Or by the way, When the end zone is your best defense, you know? You stink.
Yall the best!
Love that Oline down field every play ... Dominate !
Last year I saw Penei Sewell pull from his RT position all the way over to the left side flat on a running play and still make it ahead of the running back in time to make his block at the point of attack. Crazy skill set.
Had he stayed for another year he would have been the #1 overall pick in the 2022 draft. Somehow fell to #7 in 2021.
I think in the split zone concept w Gibbs, they leave 2 guys unblocked on purpose because of Gibbs speed
With his speed & the ability of the WR to block, it’s designed to be a 10-20 yard gain on the outside and Gibbs just having the angles with his speed
Yes. They gift Gibbs 5 yards and then watch him use his God given talent to juke defenders out their shoes. 1 of 3 trips will be a touchdown run.
As a football ref who loves watching film your play breakdown is awsome. Love what you boys are doing Lets go DETROIT . What program do u use for film review
Happy Birthday Jerry!!! Must be doubly frustrating seeing parts of his team just give up like that.
Great break down
The Lions film study is clinical. This is how you move and manipulate defensive players. What a special group physical yet agile 2nd level blocking Gibbs and Montgomery going 5-10 yards before getting touched, it's a violent ballet every man knows exactly what his assignment is and they execute it. Hole after gaping hole time after time.
Prayers for Hutch 🙏🙏🙏
I love this show
Love how no. 7 wants to be like Dieon Sanders and short arm tackles hoping for his teamates to pickup for his lack of tackling.
Terrion Arnold would have been ejected for the contact on the Tim Patrick catch
I’m subscribing!
Im a 50 yr lions fan..im 61 ...i loved ot like a kid loves chocolate cake!!!!
Noon game with Lions and Vikings is dumb af!!
Texans Vs Packers and Lions Vikings both at noon. Jets Steelers should classify as cruel and unusual punishment
One thing is for sure, that team in Southern Oklahoma sucks!
Go Lions❤
I think Dan is running those line guys out as receivers just to teach those refs from that Decker mess..
There was an insane amount of defenders not wrapping up and making good tackles. When you got linebackers and lineman trying to shoulder shove tackle, you have a terrible, terrible defense.
Sewell's TD should have stood, rule of cool
I can tell you for a fact that block in the back does not exist in the box. That is 100% a rule. until they reach the secondary or they leave the tacklebox on the perimeter,There is no block in the back.
cant even hate goff. He reminds me of my brother in law if he was a top 5 nfl QB
what a fun fkn team to watch

You said I'll ask some dumb questions from a fans prospective and then want me to subscribe. Oh boy!
(Phil is a fan… It was self-deprecating…)
@@OLineCommittee I LIKE YOUR INPUT
I have never seen a softer defense than the Cowboys one in over 77 years of watching football.
1:27 i was pissed... dumb ass rule/penalty
7:40 LMAO
prayers for hutchinson and all other millionaires
Did you download this tape somehow? Then put it in some form of player? Educate me please because the NFL pro site sucks for tape review
I think it's called all 22
Give the ball to BARRY!!
"poor jerry" ? shut your mouth Mackey lolll
Jared Goff is the goat.
Watch Diggs on the last few clips. He makes zero attempt to tackle. This is why they lost. They’re afraid of our RBs
They saw what happened to Weatherspoon.
Laporta with a soft T. La Por ta
i'd immediatly bench cowgirls' #7. he clearly has no means to be on that field. its just embarrassing...
Yooo
Hey, Alex, on that TD by Montgomery around 7:00, Parker Hesse, Lions #43, is leading through what looks like might be the hole. How is that not a chop block? The whole Dallas DLine is sliding left and he runs off tackle and cut blocks the front end of the line.
Seriously, that’s illegal and dangerous af isn’t it? Something I’m missing? Lions OLine (ed: Graham Glasgow 60) sure looks engaged (ed: w/ Osa Odighizuwa 97).. Hesse hits him low, ?
I realize you can call holding every play. (And seems like they did, Buf/NYJ game 🫤) But this is less common and more egregious.
For reference: NFL operations clip on chop block

It’s called a missed call it happens
@@RS-ue7gv I’m aware it wasn’t called. My point is that’s staring us in the face and no comment? On an OLine analysis clip? That’s like touting a facemask tackle on a linebacking tutorial.

Man Dallas defense is awful.
I can take phoebus high school football team that are champions over and over and beat the cowboys defense ,,,thats not saying much for the lion
Trevon Diggs may be the softest corner in the league.
AborTa...
The refs will F the lions out of a championship... Im calling it now😂
why exactly does one have to use the word 'dude' in every second sentence to think you're cool?? bit childish ain't it
B flo will stop them
Hasn't stopped them yet. We'll see on Sunday. Lions putting up 200 on the ground. Write that down!
@@willisreadAs a Lions fan myself I agree but please stop engaging simpletons.#OnePrideBrother
@@willisread one of the top run defenses in the league and you really think they'll hit 200 yards? And wally why the insults ?
@@TDiggz Top run D only because they've been able to play with leads. Lions gonna run it down their throat from the beginning, get the lead and never give it up. Gonna be a long day for Minny.
@@TDiggzI could be wrong but when they play Green Day in Houston both those teams had to throw the ball a lot didn't really use the running backs as much Jets Panthers and with McCafferty out those three teams really don't have much of a running game but as a lions fan much respect to what Minnesota has done this year this division is going to be hell this year every game looks like it's going to be a tough one good luck
ReporTa
Yup, you knew it, a bad team missing 7 starters on the defensive end. Still good, not as good as you'd have people believe.
Calm down everyone. They beat the Cowboys..big freaking deal!!
#MichaelStewart-y3u What's your point? Why don't you learn some humility?
Just stop. The Lions were playing a Cowboys defense that was made up of 95% second and third string players. This is like talking up the Cowboys at the beginning of the season when they destroyed the Browns. Just stop.
How many on the Cowboys offense was made up of 2nd and 3rd stringers?
@@ugoeze7360 When the offense is 1 sided because there is literally no running game because our best back is sitting on the practice squad bench because McCarthy has no clue how to use running backs, it's not hard to setup the defense to just defend the pass.
@@ugoeze7360 You don't know much about that new line and it shows. Martin may retire after this year. Steele is unreliable(a backup who should have never stayed a starter). Guyton is a rookie and didn't play. Beebe is playing center and isn't a center. Tyler Smith is the only solid player on the line right now and he wasn't playing his normal position. Stop pretending this was a Cowboys squad at full strength.
Zimmer and his “Dallas Defense” got burned by the Saints and Now the Lions to the hell with you Zimmer
