Isn't the GX the size-equivalent of the Toyota 4-Runner (or maybe the Sequoia), rather than of the Toyota Land Cruiser? That would make the $55K price make more sense.
Something I have notice on Craigslist is a car will br listed as Dealer and Private Seller same car , same miles , same photos comments under photo might be a little wonder what that is all about !!!
My friend from church, bought the new 2020 Ford Explorer, and while towing a small fishing boat, his transmission had problems "overheated I believe"!!! The SUV only had around 100K miles!!! Still fairly new
Don't you wonder where the auto companies get the management teams that keep missing the strike zone with the newer models? I have kept a MBZ E320 that still impresses me every time I drive it. Very low maintenance, great drivetrain, comfortable seating, excellent brakes, and very nice heating and air. If they introduced a new model exactly like my old E320 I think it would outsell most new cars. Oh yes, consistently 31 mpg highway. Alas no Apple toys!

The GX starts at around 58k, the base model is fantastic, if you have money and can afford the v8 mpg. It's land cruiser engineered so it will last a very long time.

I drive a 2021 300 and they're really Underated to be completely honest. The Transmission is the ZF 8 Speed that's in Bentleys,Ashton Martins, Mercedes along with some other foreign reapable Makers. Also the 300 still shares the Chassis and some parts with Mercedes left over from the Daimler Days, so the car rides on Clouds with that Euro Frame and it's also really define with good Gas Mileage for 292HP and being so heavy. The model Y is a worthless, unreliable, unsafe, heap of shit that is overpriced. My ex got one and in one year , on her lease, has had 21K in repairs for major structural, electrical and HVAC issues, as well as the touchscreen and battery short outs. The car is a disgrace and I have known 4 other people who have bought/leased the model mistake, I mean Y and only 1 of them still has theirs. Two of them are in law suits with Tesla and the other one is still waiting for Tesla to reimburse them. Just save your money and get the model 3, its the same car as the Y, just less ugly and cheaper and has had minimal issues. Teslas frames are made in TX and CA and all the other external and internal components are made in China.
So Mercedes discontinued the C-Class in the U.S. except for the AMG line I think and are selling the A-Class, which looks like the C-Class due to lack of chips. Is that not a used car that should be on a list not to buy as well? What do you recommend for mid size luxury used vehicles. Would really like your opinion as I am crazy for the BMW 3 or 5 series but long term cost is not going to be in my retirement budget.
If I'm buying a car to save on gas, I sure won't buy new. Buy an older car for about $5000. It might get 25 mpg instead of 30, but the price difference will buy a lot of gas.
I know you guys keep pushing not to buy or lease a car in 2022... for some areas, I can see this but in what everyone calls a bad market I just got two vehicles (a 2022 Nissan frontier and a 2022 Nissan pathfinder) this dealership had plenty of stock and was able to secure two fantastic deals.... (From my channel you can see my truck putting running boards on it ). one note... for both deals I had other cars which I traded and the other deal I sold the other truck on the open market... (note: they gave me so much more for my trade it vs what I owed on the car which brought the Frontier under mspr which made sense to get new vehicle plus the dealer was not so greedy with the market ups or the finance side and they seem eager to move cars... if anyone is in the NJ area I can provide info on which dealership I went to (yes there is a lot of dealerships that are shady and in this climate and will take advantage of buyers but if you follow these guy's practices there are deals to be made .... but you have to expect to get whatever is on the lot because ordering a car/truck can be a long wait ....
I’m in the market for a new car and I happen to stumble on this video do you guys think things will get better how long should I wait to buy me a new car 🤔

🤔 I think a little more research could have gone into that list. There are plenty of overpriced vehicles that should be avoided. Maybe the Kia Telluride? And so far, the Ascent checks so many boxes for a small SUV with good clearance, nice handling (especially off road), descent storage, etc. Gas mileage is on par with most.
Very interesting. I guess that it is just one list, but it was it was enlightening to hear the various reasons as to why these vehicles made this list. The Maserati was so high on my list to buy this year. Now I will have to find something else. Maybe a used Silverado. 😏
For having three Explorers 1996, 2016, and 2020, I have had no issues at all with any of them, they are wonderful, reliable, safe vehicles. Hyundai, KIAs and Porsche are garbage. Tesla Y is a disgrace.
I was on carmax looking at a used camry in Florida with a car fax of 3 owners it only has 24k people down there must not be able to even afford cars there!
another reason not to get a tesla model Y is because the battery modules are not as user friendly. in the other models the battery could be broken down into a bunch of 6s72p modules and could be repurposed by those building ebikes and power systems for off grid living and solar power. the tesla Y has 2 modules that run the length of the car and one that runs half the length and is potted in rubber and foam and is very difficult to strip to get to the cells. and teslas in general should be avoided because their self driving ai is too new and can cause the car to crash because it is blinded by the sun and will drive right under a semi trailer and get its roof clipped off. of course crashed teslas are a good thing because since no junk yard wants to touch electric cars due to the high voltage and amps in the batteries specialized shops are used to remove the batteries and break them down to safer sizes for us hobbyists. the reason a car may not change over time is costs and investments. it is expensive to remodel a car and once they get design made into production they like to keep the design so they can turn a profit on it. also parts compatibility is better between the years within the decade. a 1990 for example will have compatible parts with the 1999 model however the trim parts may not be compatible but you can pull an ac compressor from a 1990 chevy geo and put it in a 1999 chevy geo and it will fit and work.

Eco sounds like eeko, not like echo. Awesome video as always!
Honestly, I would like for y’all to do an updated one with gas guzzlers with the rising cost of gas. I learn a lot from y’all’s videos for the next time I buy a car thought I like to think I did good with my truck. Would love to be able tell y’all the dealership story on my truck, to see if y’all think I had control or the salesman did
Why did you start off by saying "Honestly" ???
"Any gas guslers"
Me: *Just bought a 2022 Camaro 2SS 1LE* 😅
The only car you should ever buy is used Lexus LS400. Also, I wish you could buy a new Mitsubishi Mirage for under $10k that would be so worth it.
I agree with that entire list. Especially the Subaru ascent. Subaru has just gone down in reliability over the years.
Many in California. They get fuel for 3 years when bought new from T.
I pretty much agree with the list, Except the Lexus which is BS
There are many reasons I'd avoid buying a car. Styling is the bottom of my list. Also lack of technology is a selling point for me.
I think a lot of people just go by Chryslers reputation and just say they're bad but don't say why, because that's how they used to be. Even the List didn't give one reason why, which is lazy.
The data was taken from 2021-2022 consumer reports
@@ianemory5800 I watched the video.
@@ianemory5800 I'm giving you real life feed back, nobody trust those things, and for good reason. It's a great car to ride in, and all my research that I've done before I purchased the car shows that they're holding up overtime.
Valve seats drop. There is one reason.
@@jeffreyzabawski4862 a lot of people trust consumer reports for good reason. Your personal reason for liking it doesn't outweigh the hundreds of people who also own the vehicle that reported problems
The LX is the Lexus version of the Landcruiser...not the GX. The GX is the Lexus 4runner competitor.
Once again great video. As I said I had many Fords and bought a new 2020 Explorer Limited in January 2020 and two year olds could have built it better. In November2020 with only 5000 miles on it traded the sucker for a new 2020 Silverado Z-71 1500 RST which 8 have loved. So I agree about the Explorer. Seemed Ford cares not anymore.
There’s a hydrogen filling station by my house in South Pasadena. The place has Mirai’s lined down the street since it’s one of the few hydrogen stations in the area.
The GX is NOT the corresponding model to the Toyota Land Cruiser....that's the LX. You can't know everything about each Brand/Model ranges but this seems kind of straightforward/ And yes, the GX MSRP starts around $57K (nevermind current market pricing).
should buy or not. yes. only thing u need to know is how u can get with better price, warranty and on. so but buy. have to move forward as a times and age. work hard, be on discipline, stay healthy, don't fall in gambling, don't do drugs, don't be alcohol addict. don't get in trouble. what u need more than that. ofcourse buy. it's not $150,000. you need big heart. that's it
I don’t know what drugs that author is on, but the Lexus GX will last forever. It’s probably one of the best vehicles someone could buy.
I would like to see all Chrysler products on that list
Lol. They deride model 3 build quality but don't Mentone it with the Maserati? 🤔😩 Murai is old tech with no infrastructure. I had a 300C v6 for 5 years with 0 issues. Satisfying v6 and excellent mileage for the size. Unconnect was fantastic.
We just bought a new Mercedes in Laguna Niguel CA with no mark-up.
The Y is a great car - they simply do not support non union Tesla.
Not true. They discontinued the A class in the US.
I have a question: what do you think about Hyundai Elantra? Is it reliable?
Ford just had a recall on the Explorer this month...lol 2020-2021 models
Maserati Ghibli, what a surprise who saw that coming.
nice to see only the benz suv is the only german car on the list. was expecting at least one of each.
I'd agree - don't buy - Chrysler, Maserati, Mercedes, Toyota hydrogen, the 3 cylinder vehicle.
If I'm buying a car to save on gas, I sure won't buy new. Buy an older car for about $5000. It might get 25 mpg instead of 30, but the price difference will buy a lot of gas.
California just asked people to not charge their ev vehicles during peak periods.
I saw a Consumer Report vid where they say to avoid the Corolla' get a Chevrolet.
Ford should be #1 with all the recall under ford lighting and Emustangs
Which dealership is it?
Only problem is it’s a Nissan
I’m in the market for a new car and I happen to stumble on this video do you guys think things will get better how long should I wait to buy me a new car 🤔
thanks for your review , i love my 2016 leaf but yes its range is not great and charge infrastructure bot great either :)
Go back to the old days where you have the screen not changing angles constantly you invest all this money in this technology in the mics and the camera and it’s worse than it was when you guys were just using an iPhone to film it
I beleive California has 100% of the hydrogen stations, and the Mirai is only sold there.
Yes. Yes. Yes….. that’s a lot of yes for a “no” list
Tesla has horrible service. Good enough reason to avoid it.
I don't know why people have the perception of Subaru as a reliable brand after a very long run of engines that eat head gaskets.
I wouldn't mind a G4 as a Cheap spare.
I didn’t agree on that list too much either.
GM probably paid them to not put any of their cars on the list.
Love my Chrysler 200, bite me...
but your not wrong.
Subaru is a great car I have them total bull on the Subaru
GX is the best car I've ever owned.
Stay away from the Hyundai Kona, Chevrolet Trax & Buick Encore as there the same & issues with the transmission.
For having three Explorers 1996, 2016, and 2020, I have had no issues at all with any of them, they are wonderful, reliable, safe vehicles. Hyundai, KIAs and Porsche are garbage. Tesla Y is a disgrace.
Ray drove Acura's and sporty cars for a long time so I would not take road driving feel from him.
I dunno.... every article on "cars not to buy" always has several JEEP models on the list????
For sure the ecosport should be discontinued IMMEDIATELY!
Every time dad says “yea” he sounds like Peter Griffin
His voice makes these videos hard to watch
There's a hydrogen station by my house in Cali it's never in use
They do not call Ford, Fix Or Repair Daily, for no reason.
What if you want a 2013-2015 camaro v6?
GX is straight sexy. That car doesn’t belong on this list.
