    I walked out of a finance office yesterday! My wife was mad, but i wasn’t going to pay for the ‘ blinking rear light’ dealer add on. They wouldn’t budge on the $400 ... so I walked. Thanks YAA

      We walked out of the finance off last week without even knowing about YAA interest rate was way too much for an 807 credit score, as we said no multiple times the interest rate started dropping but we were there for 5 hours and burnt out on it and the sales person thought for sure we were buying the vehicle washed it filled it up with gas and started the free xm radio

    I bought a used car yesterday. There was a $1678 charge for “reconditioning”. My wife and I said we weren’t paying for that bc that was on the dealership. After a couple of “ let me go talk to the manager”, we negotiated the dealer actually doing the reconditioning without paying for it. It took some time but we used more “tactics” from this channel to frustrate everyone involved in out transaction. Thank you so much for the information to empower us customers.

    Having worked in law enforcement my entire life, and 10 years of that in investigations, I was trained in interview/interrogation techniques. Kudos to YAA! I just got home with my new 4Runner and I’m 100% convinced YAA was a huge difference maker in me getting the deal I wanted. I feel like I got away with murder. I can tell you that I had to play extreme hardball and it required me walking away from a car deal I waited 5 weeks for, but they caved and gave me a steal of deal (in this market). I got MSRP, no add ons at all and they thru in a dealer add on I refused. The education YAA provides is mandatory if you want to purchase a vehicle.

    One of the interesting psychology aspects of the second scenario is that the buyer had a notebook she can reference. My trucks original order price was 88k. When it arrived the price increase from the manufacturer 96k. They thought I didn't know that the price is locked when you order. So I asked for the invoice to prove what they paid. It shows msrp and all. Even though my window sticker showed the higher price. The invoice showed the pricing msrp. Which is the amount the dealer paid.

    The best way to set the mood for a successful negotiation is to use this phrase for the salesperson ( male or female ) when you sit down at the end , " tonight you are going to either have burgers for dinner or steak " , I guarantee the sales person will be thinking about it and they will act accordingly. This works more times than none, and puts you in control, and takes the cockiness out of that salesperson.

    If these three videos were mandatory high school training in Florida public schools, over 75% of the Florida car dealerships would eventually be in serious financial hardship, because they would no longer be able to hoodwink their customers. If you could add mandatory high school training, on how to invest, how to save for retirement and how to buy a house, kids would have an important skill set for the reminder of their lives.

I took a model that had been on the lot for over 90 days and I financed with the dealer if they would match my bank for 48 month. Dealer #2 responded within twenty minutes with a counter offer. That video series was great! - In today's Market - How did Laura know to stick to the 30k price from the original 33k MSRP? I didn't quite understand how she could legitimately stand on that. Would you find the dealer Invoice price and then come up with an appropriate percentage above that? or was there a fictitious dealer incentive that she knew about? Obviously the dealership still needs to make money to even consider the deal. I don't think the profit of the gap insurance would of been enough.

    Will this strategy work when buying a certified pre owned? I went to a dealer yesterday and the price was $39,987 and OTD $44, 560. I asked if they couldn't work on the price and the sales guy said no, so I told him I would think about it and ended up leaving even though I really wanted the car. Oh and the car has been in the lot for 72 days almost heading to the auction

    We are elderly and are ordering a 2023 Ford Maverick on Aug. 16th when ordering reopens from a new Ford dealership. The people that have the dealership are not new to the car business and have run the premier Cadillac dealership in town for years and have a stellar reputation for customer service in our city. The dealership they bought out, dealt exclusively in Ford Trucks from F-150's to F-650-750's plus Volvo and Mack. They are in the process of building a new full service Ford Dealership apart from the heavy truck end of the business which will be sold off. The business is family owned. Our salesperson is a 25 year old nice young man that's fairly new to the car business so I'm sure he will be running back and fourth being coached by the sales manager. We will "not" be financing this vehicle. We understand this vehicle is in high demand and are willing to pay the MSRP without quibbling . My question is, "what do we need to know and do on the day we pay for and take delivery of probably the last vehicle we will ever own" ? Can you please respond ?

    I go to the dealer. End of month. They want to get cars off the lot. I do this every time and encourage people to do the same. My last car I managed to get $1000s off the price in the lot. I walked out twice. Got called back. They did the deal after the 2nd time. Be confident! Took a friend to buy a car recently. End of month. She saved $1000s, but the money for the Dealer was in the after sale accessories. She said no... the Dealer tried, and tried. She kept saying no. After the 4th no, the Salesperson knew he was wasting his time.

    I don't think dealers are as bad as this channel is making them out to be. Selling you stuff is yes how they make their living but I don't think there out there to con you. I've had great dealers that weren't trying to nickle and dime me. Gave me all the options and explained them to me. Never felt pressured either. So not all are bad.

    I enjoyed watching this series of 3 videos! Thank you for making such valuable content! I am not an expert but I have helped friends and family members negotiate car deals. I really can't stand how slimy dealerships are. I helped a friend yesterday, we went to 2 different dealerships. They said a lot of what the sales and finance managers said in these vidoes. I hate the games, tactics, etc. It's very psychological. I prefer buying used vehicles from owners. Anyway, I have a question. Why did Laura need gap coverage if she got the car under MSRP and put $6k down? Definitely in this climate, the car shouldn't drop in value faster than her loan. Possibly prior to 2020 depending on her payment structure. Thanks again!

    • @bindingcurve
      @bindingcurve 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You are always negotiating the OTD price, the dealership just tries to hide that number for as long as possible. Before you go in, you should know the tax, and title fees. And when I say title, I'm referring to the actual DMV fees. If you don't know, one trick is to go in and act as if your going to buy the car. Anything that is taxed is NOT a DMV fee, that will also get you the sales tax and the sales tax percentage. Anything that is not taxed is a DMV fee. Say sorry too much and then get up and leave. Who knows, they may come back with a good deal.

    Thank you for your advise. Wife and I recently bought a 2023 kia sportage. MSRP was 31,500 and the dealer through an offer of 50k and an interest rate of 11 percent out the door. Wife had a 810 credit score and we had a already shopped for financing and got a 2.49 Apr from a bank. "Market adjustment" they had at around 8.5k with other dealer fees. After crossing out virtually everything and didn't want to spend all day I flat out told him I don't care what dealer fees or car price you want to charge I said we want 38k out the door (a reasonable offer considering the market) and an apr of 2.49. After 15 minutes the salesman came back with a 42k out the door and 4.5 APR. After some thought we took the offer of 42k and used our own finance to pay for it. If it was pre pandemic I wouldn't have taken it but we knew interest rates where going to go up and while we didn't NEED a new car, her car had 135k miles on it already so for us it was the best time in the worse time to buy. Lastly I wanted to say they had a "nitrogen" filled tire and the sales man was taken back and shocked when I told him to deflate the F'n tire and fill it with Normal air. I wouldn't been able to be as confident with out your alls guidance. THANK YOU.
