it is really a difference in sharpness, but with viltrox the problem is that you have to "tune" it correctly. This glass can be moved closer or further to the sensor. That solves also a lack of sharpness in the infinity problem. Great content! cheers!

thank you my friend. this was the exact thing i was searching for. you explained soooo clearly! you earned a subscriber yar. hope to see more videos. love you.
I don't have a Metabones Speed Booster to test against my Viltrox EF-Eii Speed Booster. However, I am fairly happy with my Viltrox, using it with Canon EF lenses modified for use on the Sony APSC A6400 and A6500 cameras... I use this almost exclusively for portraits so the unsharp edges do not bother me to any great degree and, perhaps because I am only using the center portion of the frame, I don't notice the unsharp edges too much. I also have an inexpensive M42 to E-mount speed booster which I also use primarily for portrait work. I was able to get the Viltrox EF-Eii Speed Booster for right about $100 (U.S. Dollars) on-line. Since I primarily use native e-mount lenses, except for portraits, the Viltrox provides an economical accessory for my e-mount APSC cameras. I have noticed that my EF 70-200mm f/4L IS and 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS ii lenses auto focus better with the Viltrox than with the Metabones IV and Sigma MC-11 adapters...
Excellent video. I think the problem with Viltox or Chinese boosters is the quality control, the majority are very good, some are correct and a few are just crappy. I agree with you about image quality, but if you plan to use pro lenses, not sure a cheap booster (or even an expensive one) is an option but when working with old lenses such as Russian M42 or T2, the ultimate sharpest is not the aim of the booster, it's more bokeh (especially in MFT) and in this specific case, even the low cost ones do perfectly the job. Personally, I still work with 120mm and 35mm film cameras and of course use the lenses on my mirrorless cameras, because I love the render of those old lenses, color, bokeh, imperfections, flare and the manual focusing ... in one word, the character . I prefer not to use adapted AF lenses because often, there are AF (speed or accuracy) and back/front-focus issues. When I need to have sharp, perfectly controlled images, I prefer to use "native" premium or pro lens, ideally fixed focal. I use zooms only when I travel. About the lens attachment, with Viltrox adapters (not only boosters), on MFT you need to make a little bit deeper the hole connecting to the camera (on the MFT rear mount) to be sure it locks properly. I had this issue on Olympus OMD-1 (both mark II and III) and on OMD-5 mark III but not on OMD-5 (mark I and II), probably Olympus changed a little bit its connector to reduce use of third-parties adapters and/or to improve something but to be sure the connection works, the small hole must be drilled +-0.5mm. It has no impact on mount to older Olympus or Panasonic cameras. I had the same issue with some other adapters I bought or I printed.
Love the video! but lets say you only have a BMPCC 4K and no lenses or speedbooster yet. Would you buy the 0,64. and just start buying full-frame-lenses or would you buy the 0,71. and buy APS-C Crop lenses? What is your thoughts? Plz help
And for all those watching: The Viltrox is actually 0.68x. They just use the 0.71x multiplier because it is more popular and customers can find it easily... If you're a pixel peeper worrying about those edge distortions, most Hollywood feature films use Anamorphic lenses which cause a lot more distortions on the edges. If they don't care, why should you?
Problem is; at the Metabones price tag, one may as well just go out and buy a full frame camera if one is so bent on using EF lenses. So it's the Viltrox or an upgrade on the body, simple as that. I use it for night time low light indoor investigations where exposure means more to me then clarity. The crop sensor cams are great for the weekend warriors / amateurs, if your going pro go full frame. Simple as that.
In 6:16 there is 2 comparison shots both at f1,8. I notice that the Viltrox shot has bigger spot light bokeh!!! That means that the viltrox is more brighter or you used more speed aperture like 1,4 or 1,2 with the Sigma 12-35 (nevertheless the exposure seems to be very close). Any thought @Zebra Zone? Great video, lovely colours and FX
This lesson was brilliant! Maybe I am slow, because I had to watch this a few times as I was confused about lens compatibility w/GH5, but now I get it. Thank you.
In english now: Thank you for this very informative and well done video. One small detail is that not all Canon Full Frame lenses have the red ring. This red ring, as I understand it, is for the "L" series which is the top of the line. But there are more affordable Full Frame lenses such as the 28mm f2.8 IS USM. So maybe in the future take note of this feature so as not to suggest that only lenses with the red ring are full frame. p.s.: je me suis abonné à ta chaîne ;)

Again, such a great pro-quality video!
Love the video! but lets say you only have a BMPCC 4K and no lenses or speedbooster yet. Would you buy the 0,64. and just start buying full-frame-lenses or would you buy the 0,71. and buy APS-C Crop lenses? What is your thoughts? Plz help
A very clear and compact video. Tks
Wow you just barely started your Channel and you got so many subscribers already.
You deserve it though!
Awesome and tightly presented Info.
Straight to the point. You answered ALL my questions . Thank you.
This comparison was really helpful, thanks a lot
In 6:16 there is 2 comparison shots both at f1,8. I notice that the Viltrox shot has bigger spot light bokeh!!! That means that the viltrox is more brighter or you used more speed aperture like 1,4 or 1,2 with the Sigma 12-35 (nevertheless the exposure seems to be very close). Any thought @Zebra Zone?
Great video, lovely colours and FX
Excellent video and top notch informations. Merci beaucoup!
