It's always fun to see younger people than me find out about Uwe Boll. Having grown up in the 1990s-2000s, I was witness to his brand of madness firsthand. Especially when you find out that he challenged a bunch of his online critics to a boxing match. xD
While his movies are complete garbage, one has to respect the man for not giving a damn and standing up to his critics. And for so blatantly exploiting a legal loophole to make that trash. And it seems like he did some pretty good documentaries after the loophole was closed. So he clearly isn't inept, just dedicated.
No it makes sense why Slater's character has the worm thing. The doctor at the beginning during the flashback to the orphanage says he had been experimenting on the children.
Big pet peeve of mine too when writers use the word "electrocuted". I'm a safety rep at a large warehouse. Getting my OSHA 30, AED/CPR, Basic First Aid, and BBP training ruined a lot of movies for me, haha! On the other hand, it helped me with my own writing. Suspension of disbelief runs on a tiered system where I can nod along as horrible CGI monsters that look like they belong in the movie "Food Fight" flail at a main character who isn't even looking in the right direction, but then sit up and point at the screen when they use incorrect medical terminology or quote a medical myth as truth.
I remember when this movie and the videogame it was based on came out. Movie adaptations of videogames were a very new concept in those days. In fact, I can't think of any that came before this. I feel bad for Slater because he was a good actor (in his own niche) and must have thought "wow, a movie based on a videogame sounds cool." Now with hindsight we know movie adaptations of videogames rarely succeed, if ever.
Guess the one good thing I got out of this movie and video was finding out about the release of the newest game. Actually looks really good and has David Harbour. All I really know is this video was still hardest for me to make. Hard to talk about something you don't care about.

It's Uwe Boll on his run of exploiting a tax loophole, during an era when movie licenses based on video games were incredibly cheap, using a video game license from a franchise that was already on it's way out. It's bad on purpose, but not in the ironic mockbuster way. As background: For a while Germany subsidised local movie productions, no matter if they're financially successful. It was about incentivising domestic movie production. And Uwe Boll made bad movies for the sole purpose of exploiting these subsidies. Photon accelerated illuminescent resin would mean resin that lights up and upshifts the photons based upon the refractory index decreasing with time... So it should glow different colors, mostly reds and infrared if we're using upshift correctly here, based upon how the light leaves the resin... Still makes no fucking sense in context because it's still just glowing resin.... but that's at least what the words mean in that order😅🤣🤣

@4:30 Roughly, the name i believe it is, is Ailean or something of the sort, the pronunciation should be like "EYE-LEAN" i knew someone with the name way back when.
I apologize for the awful visual effects. We were young and still learning about CGI when we worked on this film.
soundtrack is one of the most metal albums ever, which is strange given this movie is hot, hot, hot ass
😂 that's true. The only positive reviews I saw on it always brought up the soundtrack
I regret that I paid actual money to see this in theaters...I was young and didn't know any better...
....there is a lawnmower in the middle of the sidewalk.
The only gunfire and screaming comes after the movie.
Did any one else laugh just from hearing him say " and then we have tara teid at a museum"?
Terrible movie - great soundtrack.
"Marco!"
(My brother and I in the theater) "polo!"
The way you edited the beginning text at 00:40 is brilliant 😆
Currently playing Fnaf security breach but this is gonna be more fun it’s 1:00 AM but I don’t care I need to watch this
You're a hoot! Thank you.
😂 thank you.
Thought wouldn’t the zero’s die at night because the moon reflects sunlight
I wish, but fish did say Sunlight in large doses... which I would assume that means just being outside in the daytime but...
@@PolterGibbst But the sun bullet kills them in 4 shots so Hours of moonlight should do it
😂 true. I guess that's why they are underground
@@PolterGibbst btw look at the comment with time stamp 7:13 ok I noticed somthing intresting
@@PolterGibbst yea lol
Oof. Thank you for the sacrifice you made wasting any critical thinking over this mess.
Figured someone needed to take the fall so no one else would. 😂
You think it’s crazier that they were able to get Ed Anders than Christian Slater???
Gore-Met Zombie Chef from Hell.
@4:45 Like you can "hate" on this chap but there are over sharers everywhere.
I blame parents.
You know the type, overbearing and inquisitive.
Always needing to know every little detail. ;)
WAIT THIS WAS BIG BUDGET DAMN THIS SUCKS
Should have gotten Nic Cage to be Slater. Every movie is improved by having Nic Cage. 🤣
🤣 this is such a good idea.
The paranoia is me rn I am playing a horror game alone with the light on but still scared 5:05
The first and only time ive ever left a theater during a movie. Holy christ this sucked.
Please, please cover the stuff (1985) ahahaha
I thought about doing a video covering 'The stuff', 'The Blob', and 'The Thing'.
Or something like that, but yeah it is on my radar to cover in the future
Look again they killed 1 or 2 at the first assault near the tire barriers
Oh dear lord you watched this 8 times? If you think this is bad don't watch the sequel starring Rick Yune as Christian Slater's character
Up
This movie is awful, but I'd make the argument that _Bloodrayne_ and _House of the Dead_ are worse.
I could definitely see the arguments for a few other films, but I did the math for all of them. And this one came out as the Worst Rated for horror films that had a big enough budget to actually get reviews on the main 6 reviews sites.
But it could have changed since I made this video with some of the movies that have come out since. 😂
@@PolterGibbstto be fair, my statement is based on personal preference and experience. Not based on other people's reviews.
@@cjkalandek996 that's why I wanted to clarify. Because I'm sure there are other movies out there that I would say are much worse.
Alone in the Dark: It Doesn't Matter.
My guy knows his stuff slater don’t tho 14:30
Can’t lie this movie is one of my guilty pleasures it’s so bad it’s good😭 like ghost of mars
Tera Reid being in anything other than American pie is a red flag
For a shit movie
Photon accelerated illuminescent resin would mean resin that lights up and upshifts the photons based upon the refractory index decreasing with time... So it should glow different colors, mostly reds and infrared if we're using upshift correctly here, based upon how the light leaves the resin... Still makes no fucking sense in context because it's still just glowing resin.... but that's at least what the words mean in that order😅🤣🤣
You have to play the game to get the movie.
Really? I sure hope so, you think the remake will make this make more sense or just the original?
@@PolterGibbst I just remember watching it after I played the first game and it covers more of the lore, I didn't know that they were remaking it.
@troesler81 that's good to know. The remake looks good, got David Harbour as the MC
12:08 so if I ask the FBI nicely will they tell me if they killed JFK
Edit instructions unclear I am now in a FBI blacksite
