Their arguments have always been embarrassing. They actively bet against themselves by asking for exclusivity. Days Gone Sequel Died for their rabid desires. Imagine if it sold on PC and Xbox. Those sales would have probably allowed the sequel to not get canned lol.
Starfield 2 is a must. Fundamentally, the original can't be changed enough to transform the game. A sequel could make an interesting main quest, add entire combat/travel mechanics, redesign the fish-bowl style maps, and flesh out the companion system and more. Hell, a sequel could even add coop, the original can't do any of those with dlc or updates.
Atleast Xbox shares a some of their games. Which obviously helps a little pay for the next GP day one drops. News just broke that cod bo6 is selling far better on the Xbox and PC gamepass. More than the PlayStation and steam. I gotta say, I'm definitely surprised Xbox PC gamepass is selling better than steam. But that's great for PC gamepass
The only way I will believe Bethesda is serious about quality improvement is if they officially announce their next game will be developed something other then the creation engine.
Robocop Rogue City has made me really optimistic about how good a first person licensed game like Indiana Jones can be... but that's a different developer who actually cares about the material. I imagine the puzzles and slow paced adventuring might be considered niche and boring by a lot of players. Plus the way it switches to third person when doing some actions seems kind of janky, like they couldn't fully commit to the bit after so many people said they didn't want first person. Lastly, the "for a modern gaming audience" from the reveal presentation pretty much sealed it's fate already. This is probably why they decided to prematurely announce the PS5 release to try and lessen the overall anger about the game, as well as get some sales after it struggles.

Machine Games doesn't have a long history of making games that turn out to be major hits or anything, just games that develop small cult followings. I'm still interested in Indiana Jones I don't really think anythings changed as we kinda already knew we'd have to play like Indy and again I assumed they'd be open areas, I was a bit annoyed at the 1st person view but it differentiates itself from Uncharted and Tomb raider so I don't mind. As long as the story is up to par with 1-3 and his characterisation is there I'm going to enjoy this one of my most anticipated of the year. Please can we get Fallout 5 and ES6 instead of Starfield 2? The general consensus around Starfield is that it’s not very good while most Bethesda fans have been clamoring for new Fallout and Elder Scrolls games for years. All I want is Fallout 5 because the show was so good and I’m getting tired of replaying the old Fallout games.

I will never understand people who freak out about remasters and remakes. Movies get better versions on every new format regardless of age and video games are an even more technologically oriented medium.
A movie gets put through a new converter and stamped into the new format. A game has to have full sections of it completely rebuilt. It is absolutely not the same.
@ViridianFlow there's actually pretty extensive film restoration work that's far more elaborate than just scan and stamp, but either way that only speaks to how there's vastly more potential for improvement and alteration in the video game medium. That only makes it an even more worthwhile endeavor, which should be even more palatable to consumers than blu-ray and UHD releases of films are. There is no emotionally rational reason to be opposed to remasters and remakes.
@SotNist The reason to be against them is simply due to the limited amount of developers studios employ. If they keep remaking and remastering games then that's fewer Devs to create new experiences. When it's a choice between a new experiences or remaining something you can already experience, choosing the remake is a lazy and cowardly choice for a studio to make. Nobody would care if they were still releasing be games but they're sacrificing the new to remake the still pretty dang new. Look at Nintendo, they have been rereleasing stuff fairly frequently but nobody complains because they're also releasing multiple new games every year. Sony aren't, they're giving only remakes and minor studio stuff

There's tens of thousands of developers working in the game industry, no shortage of mouths to feed, back catalogue should be an ongoing source of revenue which facilitates and benefits the financial health of all game development in general. Additionally, this is like thinking film restoration teams putting out new releases of existing movies is somehow impeding or subtracting from the production of new movies. A completely warped perspective. Nintendo has done more remasters and remakes than anyone this generation, they usually have only a couple more actual new exclusives in any given year, most of which are far lesser productions than what OS studios yield due to being three generations behind in hardware and production value. Lastly, it's almost all just the same IP and ideas being milked to death without actually doing anything new from scratch. People don't give Nintendo a hard time for it due to bias and narratives.

Wait HZD remaster - which has had alot of work done to it and comes with the DLC an expensive remaster at $50 (leaving the upgrade option to the side at $10)..... Starfield was not starting from scratch! It is WAY too much like a reskin of Fallout. The main issue is that BGS did a truly terrible job of the world lore. The world design & art design doesn't even match the world lore. Why start a new long standing franchise and invest so little in quality writing and a quality world lore design? BGS only care about visuals and shooting quality. That is a disaster for an RPG. I am sure there will be a Starfield 2 but they need to reboot the series and throw away all previous low quality writing and start again. This time making sure the world lore and game are more consistent.

Starfieldade 1 billion dollars there will be a starfield 2 before 10 years Bethesda is under Microsoft now and that are starting to cross utilize studios... They have enough studios to find like minded devs to help each other out and cross utilize resources amongst each other

Starfield was not starting from scratch! It is WAY too much like a reskin of Fallout. The main issue is that BGS did a truly terrible job of the world lore. The world design & art design doesn't even match the world lore. Why start a new long standing franchise and invest so little in quality writing and a quality world lore design? BGS only care about visuals and shooting quality. That is a disaster for an RPG. I am sure there will be a Starfield 2 but they need to reboot the series and throw away all previous low quality writing and start again. This time making sure the world lore and game are more consistent.

@@andrewjohnwilliams6951starfeild is no flop although I do think the creation engine is a bit too old quite amazing what they managed to do with it though starfeild is pretty good overall maybe to big should have made it smaller but the amount of systems running at once it's too complex for it's own good runs really well now though have not tried the shattered space dlc yet only level 26 it's really enjoyable to play if you give it time

Starfieldade 1 billion dollars there will be a starfield 2 before 10 years Bethesda is under Microsoft now and that are starting to cross utilize studios... They have enough studios to find like minded devs to help each other out and cross utilize resources amongst each other
Mmm I'm not so sure they will let todd and the team have time to make each game so we are talking 2035 and Microsoft knows they will make money on Elder scrolls 6 , Fallout 5 and then Starfield 2🤷♂️ why would they have them make multiple titles or have another studio touch the franchise.
@kevinlist3330 that ridiculous they know better than to keep making the same mistake of not making more of an attempt to put games out faster using other studios and Todd might not have a choice anymore shareholders for Microsoft won't want to wait and they are already implementing multiple studios working together just look at fable getting help from several other Microsoft studios this trend will continue and get more efficient
