Think about it for a moment and you will see that gta 6 is the main reason, GTA 6 will be the game that will give the most console sales to this generation.
With how much closer it runs to 60 FPS while in Quality mode, I imagine that FromSoft could get it to hold a pretty much "locked" 60 with a patch to implement PSSR upscaling.
I don't know if it's true, but I've heard people suggesting that FromSoftware's engine might not be compatible with upscalers and that this is why they never added support for things like DLSS, FSR and XeSS on PC. There has to be some reason, because it's stands out as unusual that the biggest game of 2022 didn't have what is a pretty standard feature nowadays. Could also just be Japanese devs being Japanese devs though lol.

This is the review we’ve all been waiting for, thank you DF for all your hard work! I’ve waited all generation and my pro will be delivered tomorrow and I can’t wait to dig in, I have a massive backlog to go through now that we have a machine that can handle this generation’s (and last for that matter) games… FF7 Remake, Rebirth and GoT are my top 3, what will yours be?
Great video! I also want to know if PS5pro will enhance GT7, especially on PSVR2..it's already fantastic in VR, and the pro could make it even better! Hopefully they will say something about this soon..
Whilst I don’t know for certain, I’d be very surprised if it is. The lack of Dolby Vision is consoles manufacturers not wanting to pay the licence fee for every single console when most people won’t use it rather than a technical limitation. Would be very pleased if it did get added though!
I feel the the PS5 Pro is for folks who don't have a PS5. Seems like an easy choice but I'm surprised it can't keep parity with the RX 6800. It makes me think it's closer to a 4060 ti.
I don’t understand, almost every title you discussed does not run locked 60 yet you seem excited because vrr like it’s something grate. The during actually reviews of those same titles it was presented as smithing bad. “ unfortunately not hitting 60fps constantly enough but vrr can help…”
@Patrick-tw7nr Your not, as we've seen here it can't keep up with an rx6800 If it was keeping up with 7800xt then your argument would kind of make sense but even then it would come short of the 4070
@ nah it will be just fine. It will perform like a 7800XT and 4070 no problem at all. This is just one sample size and very early results are impressive without any optimization of the console. This thing will sing like a canary as time goes on. This is a much better investment for me than upgrading my PC to a 4070
About Elden Ring: this performance is with no special PS5 pro patch, right? So performance could still be enhanced further. Overall I'm hearing a lot of good stuff. And I also should really get AC6 now.
I never really seen much difference between quality and performance so always chose performance. This pro is a wait and see for me but what I've seen so far ain't tempting me to spend 800 quid for such a minor upgrade

Once again it seems that if From just lowered their DRS bounds a bit the performance would be much benefited (in all 3 three modes on 4K consoles), it's basically what every single tech review points to since they started to use their current DRS implementation, they should learn with how studios like Arkane or BioWare use DRS in their games for instance. Come on, 1512p is NOT a low resolution, they could lower that to 1440p or even 1260p, I get that people complain about lower resolutions but if you're ALREADY sacrificing resolution for frame rate, and not getting nor resolution nor good frame rates, then what's the point??
I would call it a bad deal at this point. The builds we were making for around $700 are outperforming it by 15%, and they get FSR 3 Frame Generation and XeSS to replace PSSR. If you wait for the RX 8000 series builds are probably going to be even cheaper than the Pro for better performance. If you don't want a PC, which would make sense because if all the games you may have on PlayStation, then yeah, this is the best performance you can on consoles.
The cpu is still gimped, I’ve been watching Brazil pixel uploads & even on games like Alan wake 2 with official patch the cpu is holding it back, you get res boosts but only slight fps improvements because of the faster ram.
@@joseijosei I'm 100% on the PC wagon at this point, but I do have to question where you're buying PC parts from that you can get them cheap enough to build a PS5 Pro level setup for $700. The GPU and CPU alone would cost you $700, most places. Unless you're talking used parts.

This is the review we’ve all been waiting for, thank you DF for all your hard work!
I’ve waited all generation and my pro will be delivered tomorrow and I can’t wait to dig in, I have a massive backlog to go through now that we have a machine that can handle this generation’s (and last for that matter) games…
FF7 Remake, Rebirth and GoT are my top 3, what will yours be?
Check out empire of ants…:
On old ps5 the max you can get even in performance mode is 30fps… on the pro it’s 60!!
Why is the full video on the main channel private now?! Could watch it for like 10minutes and then it disappeared.
Great video!
I also want to know if PS5pro will enhance GT7, especially on PSVR2..it's already fantastic in VR, and the pro could make it even better!
Hopefully they will say something about this soon..
Any word on testing if Dolby Vision is supported now when using a 4K blu ray disc with the drive attached?
Whilst I don’t know for certain, I’d be very surprised if it is. The lack of Dolby Vision is consoles manufacturers not wanting to pay the licence fee for every single console when most people won’t use it rather than a technical limitation. Would be very pleased if it did get added though!
Was this quality or quality with rt?
I feel the the PS5 Pro is for folks who don't have a PS5. Seems like an easy choice but I'm surprised it can't keep parity with the RX 6800. It makes me think it's closer to a 4060 ti.
PS5 pro is for people who own a Ps5. It's an upgrade. You can sell your PS5 and cut the cost off the pro. Thats my humble opinion.
@@dripfoe_3307Facts! If people trade in their ps5 for the pro then guess who gets a price cut? Ps5!
I don’t understand, almost every title you discussed does not run locked 60 yet you seem excited because vrr like it’s something grate. The during actually reviews of those same titles it was presented as smithing bad. “ unfortunately not hitting 60fps constantly enough but vrr can help…”
Big difference. It's a PS 5.5
One I’m happy to get over a 4070S.
I’m getting more of an upgrade
@Patrick-tw7nr Your not, as we've seen here it can't keep up with an rx6800
If it was keeping up with 7800xt then your argument would kind of make sense but even then it would come short of the 4070
@@Patrick-tw7nr It's a 3070ti😂not even remotely close to a 4070s😂
@ nah it will be just fine. It will perform like a 7800XT and 4070 no problem at all. This is just one sample size and very early results are impressive without any optimization of the console. This thing will sing like a canary as time goes on.
This is a much better investment for me than upgrading my PC to a 4070
@ it’s killing it. It will perform like a 4070
Can you check Remnant 2? I know that game had a lot of issues at launch.
About Elden Ring: this performance is with no special PS5 pro patch, right? So performance could still be enhanced further. Overall I'm hearing a lot of good stuff. And I also should really get AC6 now.
Elden ring was not on the launch list, but hopefully soon.
I will get the pro maybe next year - no rush
Cyberpunk pleaseeeee
I never really seen much difference between quality and performance so always chose performance. This pro is a wait and see for me but what I've seen so far ain't tempting me to spend 800 quid for such a minor upgrade
30% more powerful for about 30% price increase
PSSR and massive ray tracing performance upgrade more than make up for the added cost though
Base ps5 digital has a rrp of 389 here and the pro is 700,not sure how you got 30% price increase
@@HumanTank12 you are right its more like 61% here in canada 580 (slim digital) vs 950 pro..bigger hard drive though but yeah ..still insane. I had one preordered but after watching the reviews....i ll wait till its really worth it, canceled this morning
@porkepik32 Christ 950 sounds alot no idea about conversion rates to Canadian but that sounds high. I mean there's no risk in waiting it isn't going anywhere so will always be there if you feel like getting it
if they had used Zen3 for the original PS5 they chould have added v-cache for the PRO version
And yes, the Review videos was deleted from the main DF channel 😏😏
Elden Ring also has dynamic resolution, so it is going to be higher resolution than base PS5
So a two year old game, and a new £700
Console and a VRR enabled TV and the game will run smoothly some of the time?
Riveting stuff.
pretty much... lol
On ps4 pro there was no difference in boost mode if not supported... this is a nice win.
Curious about BG3 which is probably CPU bound so probably can’t boost FPS much but maybe they have boosted the fidelity.
Might just cancel the ps5 pro and get a 9800x3d to upgrade my 7800x3d or 7950x3d.
I am very interested in the Quality Mode of Armored Core 6. It it fully in the VRR range on the Pro?
I’m super curious what mech warrior looks like on the pro, had very noticeable performance drops on vanilla ps5
A CPU upgrade to the PS5 would have been MUCH more impactful.
PS5 Pro equivalent to upgrading the GPU on PC when the CPU is the major bottleneck.
Only so much can be done with the anemic 3.X GHZ Zen 2 CPU...
The Elephant in the room (CPU) that is so often ignored by the fanboys.
It would add extra to the cost and be under-utilised as the target platform for future game development will still be the base PS5.
So basically PS5 Pro's GPU performance is kinda like an RTX 3070 with double the vram?
Not necessarily, a 3070 memory is dedicated.
This isn’t their review video, right?
although it isn't optimized it run really well...
PSVR2 games on the Pro, any benefits..?
This is only the case in games that dont reach their frame cap, in this case 60, you're not gonna get 60 out of a 30 fps game without dev intervention
elden ring with pssr from +30% could go to +80%, there is a good 30% of unused silicon... people in comments are just 🤦🏻♂️
I was hoping you guys would try Elden Ring in Caelid near the swamp with the Erdtree on fire. My PS5 frame rate turns into mud on quality mode there.
@DFoundry Where is the Ps5 pro review? Have this been removed? I watched part of it like an hour ago and now it is gone.
I'd guess there's still an embargo ongoing and they can't release it yet? Maybe only tomorrow.
Remember these are the results just off the PS5 pros extra power. Imagine once the games get optimised for the Pro. Insane potential.
@@yewtewbstew547 On Amazon, with a Ryzen 5600x and a 4060 you already have enough to compete against the PlayStation 5 Pro, maybe a little less resolution but better RT
*4060ti *
The start of the dlc would be a good test as its REALLY slow on base PS5
How does work on 1440p resolution?
Does this game even have a patch for pro? I didn’t see this game part of the patched games list, so wtf is with this video? Don’t expect optimized graphics for something which is not ready for pro.
40% more cost for an extra 60% GPU power = 30% more performance
I had some weird flickering on the grass and shadows in silent hill 2 on pro. Why ?
It's done guys. Stop crying about the price.they are not gonna change it for you.
Let it go, you find expensive or can't afford it. Whatever. Let it go.
When you fight against radagon using RT mode, the fps drops to 20, please test in there
A lot of games are gonna be cpu limited and the better gpu and even ps5 pro patches that lower the resolution and use PSSR won't help with that
I feel like the opinion about the console slowly gets more positive. Not like „OMG ITS THE BEST BUY EVER“ but the imense hate seems to have flattened. People who just came and raged bcs they want to outrage about anything are either either gone hating sth else now or just tired of repeating the same BS under every video about that topic 😅
Best way to play Elden Ring is still ps4 version on ps5 pro I guess? If you're looking for locked 60FPS of course. Good to hear about metaphor, I was waiting to see the performance differential the PRO would bring to decide if I would import a PS4 phyiscal copy or PS5.
Only if you don't have a very capable TV. And frankly I don't know why you'd even buy a Pro if you didn't own a TV like that.
I knew it..I won't be getting the Pro..until Elden Ring gets patched.
