Ok so, I have watched more videos of you and I have come back here: I think I have an idea of how to use the economist. Basically, what I would propose is that you take your first budget, which is gonna be an entire annual budget thanks to the economist skill, and dump it ALL on civilian projects. This will cause massive inflation, but you don't care: the economist it's good at burning it, and besides, since you already spent your entire budget and have to wait an entire year, you will now sit idle while he tackles it. This will allow you to build MASSIVe popular support, and by the time the rebels rise up, you should have several sectors already pacified. With your new year budget, that will be once again an entire full year, and this rather high ammount of already secured sectors for a just starting game, you will be able to deploy massive coalition forces and crush the rebels early on.
@@pretendpasta4796it won’t work easily but if you start with maxing out your anti corruption and then doing what this guy said then it should work better. Also, you can use the one-time use anti corruption thing you get for unlocking the previous anti corruption initiatives.
The annoying part is when the insurgents get trapped by soldiers, then run through the soldier-controlled areas and survive the escape... I lost a lot of games to that
I don't know if the people who commented know what you mean, because I also experienced the insurgents travelling to soldier controlled areas before the final soldier comes in to finish the group off, and the insurgents who went into the soldier controlled area can escape. In this case, it's best to cancel the soldier that's finishing off the group, so the insurgents who are trying to escape have a place to escape to, and then redeploy the soldier to finish off the group.

Tips and tricks for rebel Inc, 1. Insurgents can't retreat on land that has a Garrison on it, they can attack the land but not retreat to it 2. Insurgents will choose to retreat to zones that are controlled by them or places you don't have intelligence on 3. PR office will double your support level. 4. drones can immediately gather intelligence on a zone and find insurgents camps almost immediately. 5. Air support increases soldier strength 6. If Insurgents have a high enough capability they can spawn camps any where on the map. 7. Don't threaten the insurgents immediately because it will increase their capability
He's correct, you should wait till the last moment before pressing threaten You don't want to significantly increase insurgents when ur soldiers are fighting them

The insurgents always flee in a close area from the insurgents, if there isnt a troop from you. And the police can only kill insurgents with the strengt 1, after the fight, the insurgents and the police are Gone, but you dont have to catch them then and to send troops to kill them, thats a practical ability from the police!
I go for PR office&Media early and save a mass amount of money for soliders. Aswell as make sure I have the deveopment discussions and all the building stuff opend up so I don't need to pay extra when there is a local concern about one of these things Edit: Telecoms also get appreciated in places with need of electricety and electricety anyway isn't that important, I have stablized many zones with that same concern.

Look at what place wants jobs and see if it is rural or urban before buying the job upgrades. Also try to move the troops that are closest to the spot where you are deploying them to.
Should have started with a base camp in middle of the the mountain ridge along the highway between two cities. Gives a lot of advantage when fighting insurgents in the mountain
There should be an option to increase their salary right away. You spend more money than increase pay but they'll more unlikely to demand for more money again (Maybe about like 4 and a quarter years or something)

In this map i tend to place the HQ right in the middle (In the video it's Zulu Sierra, not sure If the name changes). It's a good way to be able to reach both cities, keep them out of trouble and with infrastructure developments it lets you quickly move across the mountains.

I'm sorry but this strategy just doesn't work on Brutal. I've done the same build order many times and never ever have I managed to stabilise a district, let alone BEFORE the insurgents arrive...and ONE coalition fending them off doesn't cut it at all on Brutal.
U maybe on mobile. This guide is for pc brutal. I've seen that mobile is generally the much more difficult version since it's made with a paywall which is for advisors and mega brutal and other really useful things. So this strat may not be viable in mobile. Srry ma dude.
In my experience(I paid for all advisors), the biggest problem is that when I trap the insurgents. They pop up somewhere else, and I'm stuck with no troops and no money. I play on normal, and I gell like it is on mega brutal with the difficulty spike from the first level with civil servent.
Mobile is more difficult. They give you less money, the insurgents move faster, and they spawn more, all in an effort to force you to buy the cheats. Different economic model.
@@Vanirvis The Banker and Economist are also nearly impossible to beat in brutal without any advisors which the game doesn't allow players to use without buying it.
Since the the USA just found out it stayed decades in Afghanistan, pumping billions in a senseless war, it's weird how this can be economical viable. It needs a home front fighting battles in the Senate for more money the throw away towards maintaining your armies, for added realism. ;)
You're playing as a regional governor, not the US. By the endgame, most coalition forces will be gone and you are expected to rely on your own local forces to fight the insurgents.

You can request coalition ground forces to stay as long as you want(unless they're needed elsewhere), and drones and airstrikes will continue to operate throughout the whole game. You also lose funding the less reputation you have, forcing you to rely on taxes from stabilized regions.

The game doesn't even give any indication that the coalition forces are Americans only. Get development discussions, development bank, vocational training, land rights, livestock development, and outreach office. Remote subsidies may help if the remote regions need jobs.
Just look at the region's terrain type and fund the job development of certain regions and you're good (If it's remote it is okay to use initiatives like Vocational training or Land Rights but you have to fund more than 1 to make sure the locals concern less or don't concern)
A little late here, but you need to place them close or a city near each other, this increases the strength of the fighting soldier. This won't work if both or more soldiers are fighting.
Mostly because he's used to playing the other types, it seems. The other characters get smaller amounts of much more frequently, so if a garrison option appears there's a high chance that he'll get the money to pay for it before the opportunity disappears. The Economist plays differently, though. They start with more money and receive it less frequently, relying on unusual economic tactics.
I love how you casually brush aside civilian casualties when the insurgents have brown skin. However, I bet you would be completely outraged if the insurgents had white skin. meh, good video, I don't know, maybe because I don't have all the specialist you have, in Normal and following your "walkthrough" I'm still losing; basically the rebels spawned near the city and start conquering all the near district while corruption spread all over and inflation rise

The coalitions may be temporary, but national soldiers are permanent and worth investing in. The General can even sign contracts that can upgrade the national soldiers and make them more powerful and effective than the coalition.
I have never played this game, I have no clue what this is all about, but my opinion is: You may think the economist is bad cause it helps you deal with an issue you have developed a gameplay that doesnt have it. You just know how to avoid inflation. But if this guy is good at tackling it, then what you should do is develop an entire new gameplay with him that focuses on CAUSING inflation. Some movements that you would usually not do cause it causes inflation, and that you are so used to avoiding it has completely gone off your radar untill now, well now you should consider doing them. Perhaps you are missing something, simply cause you are used to develop strategies that avoid inflation rather than go forward with it.
inflation increases the costs of everything, so having it higher is NEVER a good thing, the thing with the economist is that he gets their money on a yearly basis rather than monthly, like the others do, so you have to save money for things you may nto exect, making them harder as sometimes you just dont have the money to do something nescesarry and they will only come in 5 months
For example, you can build up your civilian initiatives (and initiative speed) at a fairly fast past, leaving you with no money for year ans high inflation... But that doesn't matter. Because now your support goes up quicker thus more money. So you just sit tight as inflation drops and wait for the big bucks to come in... Then go on from there...
Coalition troops are cheaper, stronger (at least initially), faster, and train within a few days rather than within a few months. However, without additional upgrades, they harm support in the areas they're present in, and you're forced to either lose them or suffer a large reputation hit after a few years of having them. They're mostly used in the early game, where money's tight and national troops are still weak.
They are cheaper,train faster,in the beggining they are quite strong but after some upgrades national troops,which take longer to train and cost more become more powerful also coalition troops will have to be let go after (I think) 2 years or you use reputation to keep em there longer. Really only good in the early game,I personally only train two and let them go as fast as possible.
Also còalition troops are hired from other ŕegions. Not yòur region. That is why thèy will leave you to stàrt figthìng for òther ŕegion. They arè aĺready train and àlso their temporaŕy. However national soldier is hireď from your region. Whìch means national soldieŕ is civiĺlian voluntary. Thatswhy it takrß longeŕ to deploy them

They can only do it if your soldier doesn't have intel yet.
That's why there's human-terrain system, so soldiers can get faster intel.

In my experience, charities increase your annual budget by around 4-6$
So it might be worth it if you play for longer than 2 years.

Cool the real problems for me is when the insurgents take over too much or I focus on the military too much
I’m reasonably sure that insurgents cannot retreat into an area with a garrison, making it easier to corner and eliminate the enemy.

well the vaccines tree actually saves on the Intel costs because you don't have to go to level 2 Intel to spread initiatives to the entire region
In brutal I recommend deploying your hq nearby where insurgents are most likely to appear first. So you can send soldiers more quickly

Southern Desert have 4 possible spawns area. You can't really use air superiority alone

I find Mountain Pass the most difficult among the regular maps

Get development discussions, development bank, vocational training, land rights, livestock development, and outreach office. Remote subsidies may help if the remote regions need jobs.
Just look at the region's terrain type and fund the job development of certain regions and you're good (If it's remote it is okay to use initiatives like Vocational training or Land Rights but you have to fund more than 1 to make sure the locals concern less or don't concern)

Mostly because he's used to playing the other types, it seems. The other characters get smaller amounts of much more frequently, so if a garrison option appears there's a high chance that he'll get the money to pay for it before the opportunity disappears.
The Economist plays differently, though. They start with more money and receive it less frequently, relying on unusual economic tactics.

The coalitions may be temporary, but national soldiers are permanent and worth investing in.
The General can even sign contracts that can upgrade the national soldiers and make them more powerful and effective than the coalition.
I have never played this game, I have no clue what this is all about, but my opinion is: You may think the economist is bad cause it helps you deal with an issue you have developed a gameplay that doesnt have it. You just know how to avoid inflation. But if this guy is good at tackling it, then what you should do is develop an entire new gameplay with him that focuses on CAUSING inflation. Some movements that you would usually not do cause it causes inflation, and that you are so used to avoiding it has completely gone off your radar untill now, well now you should consider doing them. Perhaps you are missing something, simply cause you are used to develop strategies that avoid inflation rather than go forward with it.

inflation increases the costs of everything, so having it higher is NEVER a good thing, the thing with the economist is that he gets their money on a yearly basis rather than monthly, like the others do, so you have to save money for things you may nto exect, making them harder as sometimes you just dont have the money to do something nescesarry and they will only come in 5 months
For example, you can build up your civilian initiatives (and initiative speed) at a fairly fast past, leaving you with no money for year ans high inflation... But that doesn't matter. Because now your support goes up quicker thus more money. So you just sit tight as inflation drops and wait for the big bucks to come in... Then go on from there...

whats the diffrence between national and coalition troops ?
Coalition troops are cheaper, stronger (at least initially), faster, and train within a few days rather than within a few months. However, without additional upgrades, they harm support in the areas they're present in, and you're forced to either lose them or suffer a large reputation hit after a few years of having them. They're mostly used in the early game, where money's tight and national troops are still weak.
They are cheaper,train faster,in the beggining they are quite strong but after some upgrades national troops,which take longer to train and cost more become more powerful also coalition troops will have to be let go after (I think) 2 years or you use reputation to keep em there longer.
Really only good in the early game,I personally only train two and let them go as fast as possible.
Also còalition troops are hired from other ŕegions. Not yòur region. That is why thèy will leave you to stàrt figthìng for òther ŕegion. They arè aĺready train and àlso their temporaŕy. However national soldier is hireď from your region. Whìch means national soldieŕ is civiĺlian voluntary. Thatswhy it takrß longeŕ to deploy them
