Not to mention that the General also gives you access to two unique focuses that allow you to improve the national soldiers beyond what would otherwise be possible with any other governor, creating the best possible national soldiers in the game. Having the General and the Arms Dealer advisor is in my opinion one of the best builds for fighting the Insurgents head-on.
I've tried that before, and I haven't been able to make it work yet. It takes up to much money at the start, really hurting starting initiatives, and is to weak to properly deal with the insurgents at the beginning.
@@samuelforesta Well I realised and it still caught me off guard. It might be cause I have the mobile version and maybe Pravus allowed them to foster int he mountains for way too long but I really didn't think they could do that and I can't blame Pravus for not thinking of it.
@@arianas0714 I both love and hate Rebel Inc. I love it cause its strategy. I hate it cause oh my gosh the game is so hard! I feel like I'm playing a difficulty mode of dark souls when it comes to insurgents. for me they never run into their own zones, but will run into fully stable areas instead when "fleeing". I have never been able to corner them and honestly I despise how long national soldiers take to train compared to coalition. Coalition: 4 seconds. National: 5 minutes. figure out why I hate them.
Is this your first Rebel Inc video? This is an ideal scenario. Demanding the surrender of weapons and imprisonment of all insurgent leaders antagonizes the insurgents a lot and you can only force that kind of deal if you really have the upper hand. Plus, you can have events where coalition soldiers have to be withdrawn or you pay some other price, reputation I think. (Edit) The coalition troops even got pulled in this video! What do you mean "international forces remain indefinitely"? Obviously not. Unless you misheard _national_ troops? In which case, yeah they remain indefinitely because it's their country. (Edit 2) Oh, it was another part of the peace deal. Well, obviously the insurgents couldn't really refuse. They had basically been eradicated.
@@justinthompson6364 I agree with you for the most part except for your thing on the forces. The event is whether or not the coalition will stay to make sure the insurgents don't rise up again, it's looking to the future, not what you play as.
A tip for you Pravus: It isn't always a good idea to destroy the camps. Insurgents usually don't like setting up more than 2 camps, and if you know where they are, you can avoid having to fight on 4 fronts simultaneously.
@@sgtsmith501 You can risk that, and that can sometimes be a problem, but it's insanely difficult to fight on multiple fronts on some of the later maps.
YES: if the Insurgents get your HQ, you'll immediately lose; aside, the defeat screen reads something about the region falling into chaos as the HQ gets destroyed. If you aren't careful, it'll be easy for the Insurgents to destroy it. Once again, early deployment may also work, since you got the Chef, and she increases Coalition morale if not fighting -though it may be as of being less likely to antagonize locals, but I don't know... It's probably not the best thing to do, but I can say that.
Fun fact: I've seen the rebel camp spawn before the rumors suggesting you can find it with the general for an easy early game snipe. Not entirely sure how it helps but you know.
I'd rather go for an early Coalition unit and start working on the Nationals since as long as we don't deploy them, the blue guys don't reduce support and don't go home early
If you go for the right initiatives and don't get any military initiatives before the insurgents show up then you should reach 3% overall stabilization and a 60% ish region in terms of an individual stabilisation usually in the region you placed your HQ
Training coalition soldiers actually reduces your support level. If they are in a zone, they reduce the local support level, which can be counteracted by purchasing the Human Terrain System (the thing that makes your soldiers gather intel faster)
Hey pravus! I heard about a strategy with the general and it goes like this: -Advisors: instructor + enginner (the other advisors aren't necessary but will always come helpful) -when you start, buy Intel 1 and Intel 2, that cheaper corruption thing, train 1 national unit, buy garrisons and buy the one that makes garrisons increase local support level. I managed to win with this strat up to brutal easily but mega-brutal is more challenging.
Pravus you know if you have a garrison in a province it counts just like there were troops so if you defeat insurgents they can't retreat into areas with garissons
bullcrap. I have had enemy soldiers retreat right through my fully stable garrison defended zone like 15 times in the mobile version. on casual no less. and they couldve ran into an insurgent controlled zone instead like the shouldve. (saffron fields, trying to corner them in the mountains to avoid them randomly spawning somewhere else.)
Going for the embedding of coalition soldiers at 15:18 is the better option if you manage to keep an even amount of coalition and national soldiers around to enable it
Pravus, your soldiers on the top right can both assault the rebels far early because you got 2 garrisons that pincer them and you can use the soldiers to help the others faster but as always it's a really great guide video!👍
One of the reasons why it might be worth getting coalition soldiers right of the bat is that you can move them around and clear corners of rebel camps in advance. It might require you to spend more on intelligence gathering. I often spend most of my money on the military section. I'll get 1 coalition, 2 national, another garrison, garrison support, and double int gathering. @9:29, in some maps, its incredibly fustrating when you have 4 coalition troops cornering them and it takes 1 minute for them to die.
True tho. Maps like Distant stepee highways are more useful than main roads because highways are used in most of not-remote regions but in the Southern Desert main roads are still more useful than highways.

Whilst insurgents are willing to attack garrisons, they will not retreat into them. Essentially, garrisons count as an occupied tile for the purpose of surrounding the enemy
Rebel Inc Escalation does have some similarities with Plague Inc Evolved, buying initiatives is like buying symptoms, transmissions, and abilities. However there are different mechanics. I think the most important mechanic this game added is those random events (and the fact that insurgents retreat to a random place instead of a predictable one). This means that replaying with the same commander and map will have far more replayability compared to doing the same Plague Inc scenario with the same Plague. I think lots of viewers might still watch if you picked a governor, played map A 3 times, played Map B 4 times, played Map C 5 times, and then show them all (although this would be more of general play rather than belonging in a guide playlist). Heck, I'd love to see you do that with the General, although I think some people have a different favorite character.

The General would work better if you focused on Military initiatives instead of civilians ones. Changing advisors that focuses on your National Soldiers ( especially the one that lets you train them without Coalition Troops ) and building Garrisons faster would really benefit the General. Once you start you training your first national soldier you should get an upgrade that makes Garrisons help with stabilizing zones, thanks to your early boost of garrisons ( usually 2 or 3 ) you can pretty much hold back a good chunk of insurgents early game while effectively stabilizing the zone where the Garrison is stationed.
Once the Insurgents start attacking you're pretty much free to do anything there since you'll be stabilizing and building Garrisons left to right and pretty much own the land with just 2 to 3 soldiers ( Coalition or National )
Yeah once they're deployed the timer starts. If they're deployed in direct combat it's sped up, however if they're used in a supporting role to assist another unit instead then it doesn't speed it up nearly as fast
