Meanwhile you just pump money into anti-corruption and tryna pump up you’re support level. As soon as you stabilize you’re first zone you’ve already won. After that reputation wont go down heavy and you will be able to afford losing those extra dollars to the NA troops. Its all about putting pressure at the start. So that you’ll be able to afford thos payments later on.
I was down to 1 Reputation on a Brutal difficulty, what really saved me was that i found the last opium field that was in rebell territroy and ocupied in the nick of time left.
I think those poppy fields have a level of sorts (them filling with red color from the botom). And I would guess full poppy fields bring more money to Insurgents and take longer/are more expensive to destroy (as more farmers rely on them for income).
This will be a nightmare for me to beat. The poppy fields are like insurgents in "Azure Dam" but much more annoying since you can directly lose reputation from letting insurgents trade the drugs and the reputation loss isn't from "Insurgent Activity" but a new one as "Drug trading" (Or something like that) so preventing the reputation loss will be a pain as you need a lot of soldiers/very good roads early to destroy the poppy fields and control the insurgents at the same time.
I would imagine that after completely beating the insurgency, their leadership would be in self-exile in a friendly neighbouring country or hiding with the few (sleeper) cells and supporters they may have left.
Their successors and sympathizers I guess, they always rely on ideals and not on strength as a full-blown offensive on a well maintained army is just a Death Sentence with extra steps.
It's damned interesting to see Pravus actually worn-out and worried about losing again. Normally he has a really cool head but damn, this was like watching someone trying to escape a disaster.
It would be cool for an airstrike upgrade that burns down poppy fields just like they destroy camps. It would be a feature on this map only, like that drone upgrade that lets drones scan multiple zones at once

If he did this then right away there would be insurgents that spawn a camp in a zone he's not controlling. Cornering them and having them take two or three zones loses a negligible amount of reputation and prevents other camps spawning as fast.
They could honestly add a HUGE update called insurgent mode wherr as the name suggests u play as insurgents and instead of civllian initatives it will be how to destroy things in a region and spread terror in goverment it will be raising ur propaganda level so that troops are more inspired and join more and millitary initiative is having more troops also u can build bases and on this map as the insurgent u also have to devolep opium farming which allows u to farm opium for money A insurgent update would be nice

There is a lot of rural/remote zones in this map where poppies will spawn. Also the tanks reduce support level, require intel, and are usually better in situation such as saffron fields where you can just form a wall and stop the insurgents from leaving. In this map mobility is key, and tanks aren’t as affective.
Just sharing some opinions: I believe the map opium trail were kinda real-life counterpart of Afghanistan's opium problem when other countries i.e US and british were occupying Afghanistan during 1980s-2000s

I have been playing rebel inc on my phone now and finished all the maps prior to this one, on brutal difficulty, with every directors (except for the billionaire). I got stuck on the distant steppe map with the general on mega brutal but after a year of on/off gaming, I finally beaten it. Since then, I have been on a winning every single map with every single director (except billionaireon mega brutal with minor hiccups on some maps. But this. This stupid map. Made me look up multiple guides to beating it. And every single guide says, its luck based.
Ignoring opium until it cost you reputation might be a better early game strategy because it give you more money to raise support level which helps you stabilize area. Since stabilized area won't spawn new opium, you will spend less money on destroying opium in the end.
I beat this map on MB with Banker, and I restart the game 4 times until the game decided to spawn just one group of insurgents at the top left of the map. If it spawn 2 groups on different sides, it's not worth trying to play because it's impossible to control them. Fund main road and if enough money, highway as well, mobility is key. If you're lucky on where the insurgent spawn, you can have only 1-2 coalition units to control the roads, while the 3rd one burning poppy fields. Recommend you to fund local police drive as they can slow down the poppy fields grown rate and also reveal them earlier. At some point, there will be around 10 poppy fields pop up and about to fully grown, only then you can use opium crackdown. Try to use National soldier units to control the insurgents while Coalition burning poppy fields. Why? Because they're always faster and burning down poppy fields much faster. However have to be careful as the insurgent is strong, need to have 2 or all 3 upgrades to make them effective at controlling the insurgents.
@@atari8603 she can generate money base on how much money you're holding at the moment, the more money you hold the more income. So keep at least $20 at all time for about extra $1 every month. Play it right she can pay up for the awkwardly low budget at the start of the game and generate much more money in late game
@@atari8603 Opium Trail on Mega Brutal is a type of map that can screw players over by pure luck. If at the start of the game, 1 camp on the right side and spawn insurgent, just restart the game because it's not worth trying (speaking of experiences) because it's impossible to contain them (due to bad road lead to bad logistics and have to split your units to fight on both left and right side). So you have to restart to make sure they have to spawn on the left side of your screen, so you can make use of main road and highway to contain them. Not just that but events can also screw player up such as farmers hit by pest with chance of farms collapse and spawn insurgent in the zone. Overall, not just need good skill but also luck.
Also could even mention about concerns. If they demand security, restart the game because it's either too costly (local police recruitment drive) or cheap but has support level consequence (local militia). Both of them also high corruption. If they demand jobs, it's okay until they need at least 2 jobs initiatives to satisfy their concerns because jobs take too long to roll out, they're also costly and corruption.
The fact that you required so much luck from insurgent spawn where you can corner them to civilians need that doesn't make you broke to stabilize regions proves how BS this game mechanic is. Required luck is fine but if you need about 90% luck just to beat this map from early to end is absolutely BS for a strategy game. RNG luck based strategy simulator will suit better for this game
What if the smuggler had a special ability on this map, that allowed poppy fields to appear in stable zones, so we get more money. I say this because the smuggler already has "interesting" methods of making money, might as well throw in another one.
I feel like the reason for that is to give every governor a chance since if there was one who was an absolute upgrade on a map like this, everyone would pick that
Smuggler isn't that good on mega brutal because it's very hard to control corruption with him. You get more money but corruption will kill your support level and reputation. Banker has downside that she has lower starting money (I'm not sure if she has lower starting income too) so she start slower than other governor but better at late game if you able to keep at least 10$ in your pocket all the time.
Tried it again last night. Normal mode. Won with 2 stars and 14 reputation left. 1,330 turns. Get the insurgents under control super quick. The longer the game goes on, the less resources you have to deal with the poppy fields. And trust me, they WILL become an issue. 4-5 active fields at a time. Meanwhile the insurgents are taking and retaking and retaking, poppy fields cost you $2 each unless you want the population to become hostile and join them.... It's a mess. Looking forward to having some time tonight to have another go and see if I can find a way to cope. Might try with the billionaire.
So, opium, as far as I am aware, is essentially just the juice you squeeze out of Poppy seed's. It might involve some crushing of the seed's, soaking them in water, and then distilling the now opium infused liquid to get essentially pure opium, but that's essentially juice. There might also be a more solid variety of opium, I wouldn't know, but the basic principle is just poppy seeds contain opium, or at least something which becomes opium with minimal processing. That's why eating poppy seeds can make you test positive for heroin, because originally heroin was just processed opium, although I think they just synthesize it from other stuff now. And before you ask, no, you can't really distill opium from the poppy seeds on your bagel, they aren't opium poppies, and thus the concentration is too low to get anything out of them, esspecialy without a LOT of poppy seeds.
The thing that rebel inc and plague inc made me realise is how little people like to get helped,in the cure you could be fighting the most fierce bio weapon and still Zambia won’t close their borders in rebel inc you could be building schools and wells but as soon as 1 insurgents enters their reagion that star to hate you and I think that all of this is pretty realistic😂😂😂
There is but it doesn't translate well, like your units will get worse and worse the longer they remain in combat, and then slowly regain strength while not in combat. the chef advisor speeds up that process
So...why can't air strikes bomb poppy fields? Either this game isn't very realistic, or I guess it's considered a civilian target, so while you can allow civilian casualties you can't actively target civilians. The caves make sense, you can't really bomb out a cave with a simple air strike.
Right, beating this map on brutal first try is much more easier than i thought it would be, maybe i just got lucky? Idk, the point is i have beaten every special map so far
this map on mega brutal has a distinctly gigantic difficulty spike moving from brutal, compared to other maps honestly its probably because of the mega brutal specific map mechanics they put in this map
with my difficulties being national troops I feel warlord could quickly conquer a lot of maps, including this one. I'm probably wrong but it is interesting

It shows their growth, when it's full you get ticking reputation loss symbolising the insurgents harvesting them.
Fields in remote areas take 10x longer to grow

Just tried it on medium difficulty. ALMOST failed! Sometimes i ask myself how you do those scenarios on megabrutal
Hate to say this if getting green zones is the key then electricity is the key since they push out the other developments faster.

The thing that rebel inc and plague inc made me realise is how little people like to get helped,in the cure you could be fighting the most fierce bio weapon and still Zambia won’t close their borders in rebel inc you could be building schools and wells but as soon as 1 insurgents enters their reagion that star to hate you and I think that all of this is pretty realistic😂😂😂

There is but it doesn't translate well, like your units will get worse and worse the longer they remain in combat, and then slowly regain strength while not in combat. the chef advisor speeds up that process

So...why can't air strikes bomb poppy fields? Either this game isn't very realistic, or I guess it's considered a civilian target, so while you can allow civilian casualties you can't actively target civilians. The caves make sense, you can't really bomb out a cave with a simple air strike.

Right, beating this map on brutal first try is much more easier than i thought it would be, maybe i just got lucky? Idk, the point is i have beaten every special map so far
this map on mega brutal has a distinctly gigantic difficulty spike moving from brutal, compared to other maps
honestly its probably because of the mega brutal specific map mechanics they put in this map

with my difficulties being national troops I feel warlord could quickly conquer a lot of maps, including this one. I'm probably wrong but it is interesting
