I've been in my 20 years young home for 18 years. In Santa Clarita, CA. It's time to replace appliances and cracked coriander countertops. Must I replace construction grade cabinets STILL in very good condition, if I'm replacing countertops and installing backsplash? Also, granite or my favorite quaryz? My home will sell easily if I move, but I also do not want to waste money on this improvent. Thank you.
@@LisaLopezLuxuryRealEstate I am so out of touch, as I had no idea about Quartzite. I also prefer natural stone, but not too "busy". My home is a little above $1M, almost at the top of a hill with partial views. New homes right above me at the top, middle range of $1.5M. The downside of the new homes is a much higher HOA fee andello Roos. Km in a good spot. Thank you SO MUCH!
@kinart2543 it sounds like you’re in a great place in time and location to do some remodeling to be ready for when you do decide to sell. At your price point where you are located, I think putting in quartz or quartzite is OK as long as you choose the less busy patterns, but it sounds like you don’t like a lot of veining anyway. There are many types of manufactured stone that are almost solid in color. I will send you a video later today with an example of some countertops in one of my current remodels, where I use this type of stone.
Hi @jbs2763 I would have to say it depends on your household needs. Most homes I’ve seen these days have extensive WiFi access points throughout the home since so many people rely on wireless devices over wired ones. I usually only have a couple wired access points in my homes just in case. I hope that helps.
Hi @peter-ok9bj Yes I agree but I always tend to spend more because I like to create my space to accommodate my lifestyle but I know that’s not the same for everyone and is very budget specific. Of course it always depends on each individuals situation and how elaborate they want to go with their design plans as well. In this video and generally speaking it’s how much you’ll be spending with the builder when completing your structural and design center upgrades for the build of the home.
Lisa I'm seeing a lot of houses going with wood floors. I have them in my apt. I like ceramic, what are your favorite. Wish you were selling homes in Florida.
Hi @peter-ok9bj I wish I could help you in Florida as well. I can connect you with one of my colleagues that works in your area though if you’d like. As far as my preference on floors constructed of wood vs ceramic, I prefer the warmth wood floors bring to home design and to your feet on cold days but I’ve been installing more porcelain and ceramic flooring in my homes because they’re so much more durable. I’m a dog lover and no matter how hard of wood you choose they are likely to get scratched when you have pets or kids that can be rough on flooring. So if I have to choose I’d say go with ceramic or even stone flooring options for a timeless finish.
Thank you will let you know when we are ready. One last question. Which do you like best? Porcelain or ceramic flooring? What company does your colleague works for?
Great question. I prefer porcelain because it’s colored the same color throughout the entire piece of tile. Whereas ceramic is glazed and if chipped it can reveal a completely different color underneath. My colleague works for Sotheby’s as well.
Actually the correct answer is D… 20-25%! Isn’t that crazy! It seems like a lot but the number quickly goes up when building a new home. Thanks for answering Thomas!
Hi @thefilthycasual3… I agree. I tend to go overboard on the upgrades I put into a home! I want what I want 😂 and it’s really rough making changes once you’ve moved in.
I HARD PASSED on a home I otherwise liked based on a massive pool, great! 👍🏾 But dude put a massive mosaic design of his favorite sports team… which was not mine and CHEESY AF. No sale. Don’t do that.
Hi @jaysonx5576 Yeah that’s a huge mistake and funny because I was just talking about this exact thing when I went for a walk in my community and saw that one of my neighbors had the VGK logo embedded into the pebble stone right in front of his front door! 😳

Iugg I have the linear electric fire place. I wish I had a traditional square fire place. Gas or not they look way better, Elegant and timeless.

D with me is close to 40% if it includes a patio and pool.

I didn't even care because we are going to be there forever so I did everything I could so there is as little as possible to do when I move in.
