- Recipe: Important!
Don't buy the expensive roasted salted pecans in the can!
Go over to the baking section of your store and buy a 6 oz.
bag of plain pecan halves. They are a lot cheaper!
You can also use a few whole cashews as well... they are
great in the brown sugar mixture listed below as well.
In a pot on medium heat melt...
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
3 tbsp. water
1/4 tsp. vanilla
Bring to a bubble!
add 6oz. bag of pecan halves simmer
for at least 3 minutes pour on to parchment
paper separate immediately ... let cool
O.K. You can eat some while still warm! Lol
Great on butter pecan ice cream!
Enjoy!

I’d add the vanilla after u take it off of the burner and before u add the pecans otherwise you’ve cooked it out. It’ll have more of the vanilla taste. This looks delicious. I know what I’m making tomorrow thanks for the video
Good tip!🙂👍

I just made this recipe. It is super quick and easy. It tastes exactly like I want my candied pecans to taste.
Glad you liked it! Those are really good!
Mine don’t turn crunchy.
Miss That guy, Steve, praying for you Miss Shelia 🇺🇸❤️🙏🏻
Thanks!
I love pecans they look yummy
Someday when I have a kitchen, again, I'll make 3 small batches,1 w kKalahari, w Baileys and 1 vanilla . Mix them when cool. Give em away. Yeah
I would bet a pinch of Cayenne pepper would be great on them ??
Going to try this, thanks!

Delicious 😋
Thank you Terri😋
Looks delicious👍👍👍👍👍👏👌💖,Merry Chrismas⛄
Oh, maybe instead of vanilla or kaluha, I'm thinking Baileys Irish Creammmmmmmmmm
Yummy yummy goodness
Can you toast the pecans first for a little bit? I really like them crunchy?
Sure can!😋👍
I left out the vanilla and added a tbsp of Kaluha oh my
You mean “Kahlúa”?
For viewers who aren’t familiar with this, it’s a liqueur. Coffee liqueur which contains rum, sugar, and arabica coffee. If you don’t like vanilla, too there are nice aromatic extracts that come in both liquid and powder. I use almond extract.
Some would add butter.. is it ok or is it for consumption alone like candied nuts?
Nice....
Thanks
More cinnamon for me
Gee you talk so fast in the beginning I thought I was listening to an auctioneer. Lol then it went to normal. Whew gotta try this recipe, thank you.
Sorry about that!😊 Your welcome!
My pecans came out so sticky what did I do wrong?
Why are My Candied Nuts Sticky? They most likely didn't cook long enough on the stovetop. Sugar has to reach a certain temperature to achieve that brittle, candy coating state.
@@CookingwithShotgunRed what can I do now
HELP --- anyone have any tips on how to make cleaning that pan easier? Or should I have my 'chisel' or, if all else fails, be ready to bin the pan?
You can put down wax paper!👍😃

Thinking you could fill the pan with water and bring it to a boil to loosen the stuck on sugar etc. after it’s at a full boil pour it in the disposer with hot water running. I make walnuts using a recipe similar to this and I don’t recall having difficulty cleaning the pan afterwards. One other thing, what about spraying the pan with Pam, that might work.
LOL
