    Seeing a lot of folks saying we called Malon "Marin" (the similar character from Link's Awakening), but this isn't the case. We were quoting the developers when refering to Malon, and the character's Japanese name is Maron. You can see this if you watch the video with captions enabled. We should probably have put a note on screen though.
    As for calling Lon Lon Ranch "Romani Ranch" in the intro, that was just a dumb mistake and it's a shame we let it slip by.

    Kaepora Gaebora originally having a split personality makes so much sense, given how he spins his head around during his idle animation to reveal a second face.

    • @SorcererLance
      @SorcererLance 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

      Admittedly the second face wasn't very obvious to me as a kid, until I saw its depiction in the official manga... in which a light lit up in my head realizing what he was trying to do in-game.

    • @JamesDavy2009
      @JamesDavy2009 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@SorcererLance It's practically a trope at this point. Those of you who played _Okami_ will know of a character known as Onigiri-sensei that did the head spin into a different personality. Even Rare (then known as Rareware) pulled this trope in _Conker's Bad Fur Day_ with the angry deaf cog with a cigar in his mouth spinning into a nicer but foppy persona smoking a cigarette in a holder. Their names are Carl (the former) and Quentin (the latter)

      And a lot of the game's mechanics are an integral part of gaming today. Something tickles my funny bone about Camelot's thought process of "we'll make the game so good, Nintendo will ask us to put Mario in it!" and then Nintendo looking at it and saying, "hey, you should put Mario in this." Sometimes things pan out as simply as envisioned, I love it.
    Also the part where they talk about tennis and how it used play and wanting to recreate that in Mario Tennis 64 was super interesting. Not much of a sports fan but I respect the hell out of the drive to create the game in video game format like how you love it to be played.

    Man learning even more ocarina cut stuff now I want to see yet another mod that tries to recreate this stuff. Showing Kakariko on fire during the lon lon ranch stuff reminds me how strange it is that the fire just stops like nothing happened. I wonder if it was ever more plot relevant too.
