your condensation pump, i think and it's ok to disagree, should be hot all the time. think about a switch plug combo with the plug hot all the time. then all you need to do is plug the pump into the switch plug. finally, local codes vary across the country. i like a kill switch in case of emergency fire then the first responder does not have to wonder where the switch is. i install it as a courtesy for the next guy.
