    I had the Xperia Ear Duos and loved the idea. They just didn't get loud enough to work in many situations. Hopefully these will fix that.
    Using them while cycling or running feels much better and safer than closing out the environment. Also some gentle background music for walks while hearing everything as well is a very nice experience.

    • @rm2327
      @rm2327 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also had the ear duos but returned them because it didn't have any ip rating and 280€ was too much for me to take the risk.
      But i really loved them because the sound was like background music.
      I've got the linkbuds now and the sound quality is unbelievable.
      I have to do a side by side comparison but i think they are comparable to the xm3 buds.(base is deeper on the xm3s)
      In any case they blow the c500 away.
      At first they don't sound like much but after switching dsee on and putting the eq on excited or even better customize your own preference it's so much better.
      There's even pretty nice bass.
      On high volume i almost don't even hear my surroundings.
      It's pretty loud.

    6:17 I prefer this generally for using earphones while out and about. Even at home my favourite headphones are the most comfortable and "airy" ones.
    Plus I generally prefer a proper stereo speaker set up, which you guessed it, makes it sound like sound is around you

    Thanks for your review on these. I own a pair of these myself and I find that these are really great innovation. In regards to your comment about volume, I use these on trains and public transport a lot and the volume is definitely loud enough for me. For me I don’t even have the volume maxed out and they are not even on the red level of my volume icon on my phone yet. Maybe it might be worth swapping the ear wings around for a different size perhaps? Also maybe check for software updates as I am quite sure that my recent software update has improved the volume on these.

    Two use cases that I find attractive
    1- work from home
    2- sleep.
    I’ve used the Galaxy Beans for those use cases the past 18 months or so, and the battery life is starting to go out.
    These look like a good substitute.
    Pair them with AirPods Pro or their sister TWS the XM1000 V4 and your for days.

    I'm not just tempted, I've actually pre-ordered, something I rarely do.
    My Aftershokz are starting to rattle, and I find the band that goes around your head gets in the way when I'm in bed or wearing a scarf, so the timing is perfect.
    They should arrive around March 1 if all goes well. 🤞🏽

  • @uberbrainbox

    Bought a pair of these and the XM5s. As a heavy user of audiobooks and podcasts, especially when doing the mundane chores, like washing up, these are perfect. As you say, they aren't the ideal sole pair if you're more into music, but for situational awareness situations, like riding a bike or shopping in the supermarket, these are the ones I have with me and the first to go into my pocket (and ears). I love the things. They're surprisingly great quality for speaking and listening to callers, too.

  • @Skoobs

    My plan is to use these for solo hiking/trailrunning where I need to be able to hear if a bike or something is coming, plus I like to hear a bit of birds chirping and all that. Hopefully they get loud enough for that. Usually is pretty quiet, and I much prefer the opposite of a U shaped sound profile, so maybe with some tweaks I can make them work.

    They look like they could be good running buds. I use aftershokz openmove and am really happy with them and these look like another option to listen to stuff while having awareness of surroundings. The Bragi Dash was actually the first wireless earbuds to do the “cheek tap” controls (back in 2017 if I remember correctly), along with many other futuristic features. It’s often forgotten after the company moved away from earbuds, but the Dash/Dash Pro had many features that were ahead of their time that still haven’t been seen in modern true wireless earbuds.

      Can I ask how you are enjoying these earbuds so far? I'm very tempted to pick these up although because of the design and the whole reason behind them I'm a bit worried about not hearing my '80s hair band music LOL (Def Leppard, Poison etc) at a decent quality, loudness or to feel the chest thumping drums. What do you think?

    • @DJunclepaul2nd
      @DJunclepaul2nd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@djkevinkelly so, for what I want these are great. But, they do not have thumping bass. They allow sound through/in, so your not going to get isolation. One podcast I listen to tends to be a little low in level, and i have them cranked up to near max volume. Generally it's about 3/4 volume. I walk dogs in country parks listening to podcasts/interviews. Great as I can still hear people/other dogs approaching and be aware of my surroundings. On roads I can struggle to hear clearly due to the traffic noise. I recently found one earbud was coming loose a bit too often, so went up 1 size of rubber inserts and now they are firm in place. So, the clarity is good, the level is ok, the bass is low. They are a compromise by design, but for me they are working well. Battery wise, I put them in around 10am. Leave them in all day. Listen for about 3-4 hrs through the day.

      @@TechSpurt would sleeping on your side push them further into your ear canal like typical earbuds?

    The manufacturers of personal tinnitus masking devices needs to steal this design. The Linkbuds are the best design for white noise treatment. No occlusion, no disconnect from your surroundings, and nothing in your ear canal. The pitiful battery life is the only flaw for using them for such purposes.

    I find it incredibly funny how the soundstage is just a concept foreign to most people until they heard the linkbuds lmao

    The price seems pretty steep, especially without a wireless charging case and sub par battery. I love the idea of them. But, not being able to make it a full work day or top them up on the same charging pad as my watch disappoints me.

    Can you Bluetooth-search the earbuds while they are in the case? Would be handy when you misplaced them or if a your child hides it.

    If you want to hear your surroundings try the old Koss KSC35 wireless amazing sound & very cheap for how good they are. Just need Koss to do a true wireless version

      I just bought them. What do you mean? They have a function that amplifies sounds so you can hear everything clearly, albeit a bit synthetic, a cool feature nonetheless. You can also completely block out sound

    Transparency or ambient do the trick , I guess the Galaxy Buds live do a better job if they just disconnect the left ear a lot

    i got some issues with my ears and ‘in ears’ end up hurting my ears quite a bit (and sadly regular airpods fall out of my ears), how do these do for staying in one’s ear and how deep into your ear does this go if at all?

    • @07sisco
      @07sisco 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, i might be doing it wrong but they’re ok. I have so much trouble keeping iem style ear buds cause no matter what size I use or what material I use (regular silicone or memory foam) they won’t stay in my ears. After awhile my ears start hurting due to me pushing in the stupid airpod pros back in every 30sec. These on the other hand stay put for the most part but I think I have a weird ear shape that makes it to where it sounds like I have an ear plug in my ear, which is opposite of what they should do. My recommendation is to try them if you can. Unfortunately, I’m still on the hunt for the perfect ear buds for me. The only earphones I was able to use back in the day were the Bose sound sport wired version. Those were my ideal fitting ear tips

    Besides for the people who can't stand that "plugged up feeling" I don't see the point of these... ambient mode completes the same function...I would understand more if you got like 12 hours of battery in the buds but I don't get it. I really like tapping cheeks though lol

      Ambient sound is okay if you just temporary use it for some moment, but using ambient sound all the time? Is not for everyone. For this open back, it's literally natural sound and feeling and air to your ear.
