Rare had the best beats by far. Amazing music. David Wise was a composer at Rare from 1985 to 2009. "I was working in a music shop demonstrating a Yamaha CX5 Music Computer to a couple of people, Tim & Chris Stamper. I'd written and programmed the music for the demonstration material. They offered me a job." - David Wise. He is credited as the composer for this music.
David Wise is such a great composer. I love how this silly monkey game about getting your bananas back has this beautiful emotional music, and somehow it just works
Rare carried the N64 and the mid 90s for Nintendo. Nintendo had good games but Rare was banger after banger after banger sometimes even in the same year.
I feel like I’m an Rare audio engineer finally getting to hear what the composer came up with for the jungle level of a new game they’re making called Donkey Kong Country. It’s really neat how you did this.
Wow, it actually sounds far more similar to DKCR than I ever thought it was. Thanks for opening my eyes! Also, 1:43. This section just makes me drool, it's _soooooooooo_ good... So *GOOD!*
This sounds so wonderful. 1995 is so far away and at the same time so close to my ears. Thanks for this, because this brings me to my childhood and I just want to take an SNES controller and play some DKC just like if nothing else mattered in the world.
Jammin’ Sam Miller’s restoration of this is incorrect. Half of the samples he used were the incorrect ones and it’s clearly audible. I’m surprised nobody notices it. This video is accurate and uses the correct samples. (or at least way more accurate ones than Jammin’ Sam Miller.)
With this I can perfectly imagine him in some cozy gently lit recording studio on his computer making the soundtrack. This feels like the type of soundtrack a composer makes alone in a dark room for a month thinking only about music
As a country returns player it's amazing how they kept the exact same melody and just supercharged the audio and instruments for the next game really have that super nostalgia to all the original players (Side note is it just me or do the trees all look like they have disturbing eyes looking at you)
I still want to know why they came up with this whole upbeat catchy theme that fits DKC like a glove and then it just becomes, like, a completely different song
My older brother who was my idol at the time (I was 5 he was a BIG 9 year old) told me that when he was going through this level, he saw a giant dinosaur walking in the background. I said: "I wanna see the gigantic dinosaur too!!" He replied: "Sure thing, just keep playing this level bro, you'll see it eventually...." 25 years later... still no dinosaur and my brother is still known for his love for trolling people in real life. Some things never change.
Well, the composer originally made three different tracks for the first level of the game, and then the staff ended up liking everything and putting them all together in the same track. Maybe that has something to do with it :P
I was legit staring at the screen waiting for a giant gorilla riding a rhino to crash through the flat surface wall in the bottom right, Kool Aid Man style. I guess my brain just decided that would be the perfectly normal sequence of events.
Wow... It sounds awesome with great sorround sound. Would love to hear more of this glory. Like King K. Rools Galleon theme, Bramble Blast, Fear Factoy, Mine Melancholy, or the Boss theme of DKC2. Keep the work up!
I deeply thank you for your works, this is the music i grew up with and hearing it in all it's majesty fills me with nostalgia and good memories, good stuff 👍
I'd put this in my top 5 dkc trilogy songs for sure. Call it nostalgia but every time I run through that build up it just really gets me amped up and ready to move!
Glorious. The only thing wrong I can find is that the Trombone at 1:12 doesn't seem like it goes high enough. In other rips of the track it goes a slight bit higher in pitch.
Love your work! It's great hearing these tracks the way I remember them. What is that tom drum sample from? Never found anything else quite like it, always loved it. :D
The song is called, "Jungle Hijinx." On another note (if you'll pardon the pun), the SNES version is actually quite impressive considering it was only 16 bit stereo.
Rip snes music in spc format, and use a program called vgmtrans to extract a midi sequence and the samples from the spc file, then use openmpt to create a tracker (midi+samples in one file) and add better samples to it. And you have a recreated source file to edit or remix or whatever. :).
*pounds on chest and yells echoing throughout the whole jungle *
*Takes hat off and scratches head while looking at player*
*starts the journey by picking up the Diddy Kong barrel and throwing it*
*Seth Rogan laughing*
👍✌️
Actual monkeys:
*The hell is up with that guy*
You can’t not love that piano bit at 1:03
I knoowwww
They actually change the instrument or don't include it at all in covers...
Kinda the best part

Pleas restored mining melancholy 😍

Up
Hell yeah.
According to the dropbox link, there's already a FL Studio project for it. I'm guessing it just needs some extra work and a render.
Roberto Avila that one IS one of my favorites.

This nostalgia is delicious.

Best part of the song
@@smileydog5941 Oh, hey, the name linking system got fixed! I missed it!
Best part. Epic music on this game
Remembering when I play this game from 6am until 6pm and finished all stage. Man!! So nostalgic 😌
I always liked to leave DK idle for a few seconds to let him do his yelling sound; it blended quite well with all the music from the game.
Woah after 20 years, I can finally ears the birds in HD!
Technically it's Hi-fi, but yeah this indeed does sound great, as do all these remakes
This sounds so wonderful. 1995 is so far away and at the same time so close to my ears. Thanks for this, because this brings me to my childhood and I just want to take an SNES controller and play some DKC just like if nothing else mattered in the world.
Hats off to Jammin' Sam Miller!
He uploaded a new one an hour ago ;D
This is actually stolen from his cloud drive. You should probably go to his video.
Unless this was an old version of his restoration before he made a newer one, but if that’s the case he just fucked up the newer restoration.
WOW, I've been looking for something like this for so long. Especially the notes for that echo thing at 4:17-4:20
David wise is one of the few people that I would actually call a genius
He's also really humble and generous about revealing his inspirations. Most composers usually gatekeep the music they like... Even I do lol.
With this I can perfectly imagine him in some cozy gently lit recording studio on his computer making the soundtrack. This feels like the type of soundtrack a composer makes alone in a dark room for a month thinking only about music
He did say he made it in a music shop and even got to see iron maiden play live somehow
from start to end love it here in 2022
This sounds amazing!
No sabes cuanto tiempo esperé este momento ♡
And these were 3 demo tracks put together. What a track.
This channel is gold

I can never ever unsee it
The jungle see's all
Now that you’ve said that about the trees I’m never gonna unsee it
whyyyy
You are amazing. I wish these classic series was remade and they paid you for using your music
1:13 the low horn/low brass echo is my absolute favorite part of this piece.
When you return to monke
I still want to know why they came up with this whole upbeat catchy theme that fits DKC like a glove and then it just becomes, like, a completely different song
Funny thing actually, it's 3 songs compressed into one

Now I can't unsee the eyes thanks
@@umbra71 welcome to my world for the last 20 years!!
Even tho I'm so tired of this song.....THIS VERSION IS THE BEST!
this is easily the most iconic song in nintendo history. literally any instrument at any part is instantly recognizable as this song
Mario 1-1 objectively beats it in recognition, but it's still a great song
@@catsukisubaru3715 i guess ur right
@@masterboa6321 and i feel like the part used in kong jungle in mario kart 7 is the most iconic part of the song.

Jungle hi-jinks, kongo jungle, ect
DK Island Swing.
Well, the composer originally made three different tracks for the first level of the game, and then the staff ended up liking everything and putting them all together in the same track.

One of the best theme songs from one of the best video games.
