This song instantly takes me back to being in 5th grade and growing up in NY during the ‘Blizzard of 1996.’ I was so happy for the snow days because I was able to play this game each day during what would have been school time. My brothers and I would take turns and it was just so much fun. I have played a lot of great games from those with incredible depth to them (Witcher 3, Mass Effect, and Bioshock to name a few) to the games mostly about being fun without caring too much about depth in story-telling and themes (Mario games, Banjo-Kazooie, and most Zelda games), but even among those greats and personal favorites, Donkey Kong Country 2 is perhaps my all-time favorite, and it just might be the greatest game ever made.

The beautifully layered backdrop all in a dark and washed tone, with the lush greenery rubbing up against each other out in the background, all in a color pallet dark enough to evoke a feeling of dim and lush greenery in a humid forest infested by creatures of all kind. Man my dumbass was gonna end it but then watched a silent voice and remembered why I used to be happy I used to be so quiet and kind and I loved letting my imagination take control and recently I’ve been so happy nothing in my life changed except for myself I stopped letting temptation get the best of me I’ve had a better diet and I’ve been getting more sleep and relaxing more I just feel at ease I just finished cleaning my brothers room dirty as hell but he’s been busy with work and practice so it made happy I’m doing things again
