The way it does that shows that K. Rool is starting to realize that the kongs are actually a threat, as the fight gets harder, the music gets more intense as K. Rool desperately tries to get the kongs of the ship as his plan goes to disaster.
This song means a lot to me. I played the game when I was a kid, and then, years later, I kept remembering this song but I had no clue from where I knew it. One day, almost ten years later, I've found this song again.
Sounds similar to me that song “running up that hill” reminded me of something after I listened to it a couple times, and one day driving in clicked, “DONKEY KONG!”
Honestly sounds better WITH compression, the high pitches sound like an electric guitar on the SNES It just shows how genius David WIse is working with the limitations he had
Agreed, sometimes the limits of the hardware only serves to enhance the overall experience. In this same respect, I think the Sega Genesis had a really distinct sound it would output for its games based on the hardware limitations of that system, and when you compare a lot of modern updated versions of past Sonic songs and the like, it isn't hard to see how and why someone would prefer the original versions within the actual games.
Also, sometimes when the hardware is limited, it makes the creators more creative and innovative since they dont have much to work with. This restoration sounds great tho
Well the composer (I can't remember his name sorry) actually manually created samples of sounds from real instruments to implement in the game to be able to push the snes' capacities to its maximum, so it's not thought for being good after compression, it is good sounds that were compressed!

back when i was still 7 - 8 years old u used to play this game because I thought it was fun but after beating i kept playing because i just loved the score on the final boss scene. This masterpiece was my reward. Like DK Country on the snes was sooo far ahead of its time on both graphics and music its insane. I dare to say the graphics of these SNES titles aged better then 99% of the PS2 and Xbox titles that where on a newer console.

As a Wii/DS kid who never got to experience the 90s, i feel like this gives me a taste of what a good videogame was like back then. I may not have lived through any of it first hand, but I've listened to enough NES and SNES soundtracks to know that this was beyond impressive for the time.
It always makes me happy to see new generations getting into the stuff that I grew up with. I lived through the 90s, but it honestly feels like a lifetime ago, and those feelings will only get worse as time marches on. I was well into my college years by the time the Wii and the DS hit the market. That feels like a lifetime ago too! As you get older, it seems like time goes by faster, and it's scary! I wouldn't trade it for anything though! My generation (the Millennial generation) is the last generation to remember a time before the internet took over our lives.

Super Mario World and Final Fantasy 7 8 and 9's come close but I would unequivocally hand the power and bravado to this one any day. It has a KILLER buildup to the raw emotion it exudes and at the same time it doesn't overdo itself or try too hard to be epic because it simply IS epic.

I love how the music almost seems like this fight is gonna be a joke especially with King K Rool’s first attack being throwing his crown at you but then after a bit the beat kicks in as he starts running around and then throwing his crown then the music gets more intense once the cannonballs and jumps come in
Hands down my favorite boss theme of all time. Loved it when I was like 4 or 5 years old and here i am at 33 still playing this absolute masterpiece! DK country has so many bangers.

I love how the music almost seems like this fight is gonna be a joke especially with King K Rool’s first attack being throwing his crown at you but then after a bit the beat kicks in as he starts running around and then throwing his crown then the music gets more intense once the cannonballs and jumps come in
Hands down my favorite boss theme of all time. Loved it when I was like 4 or 5 years old and here i am at 33 still playing this absolute masterpiece! DK country has so many bangers.
